I remember it was one of the first major self published books alongside Cerebus. And that everyone looked pretty gay, but they were elves so that's a given.

Elfquest was cool shit. Leagues ahead of other indie comics of the time and probably the best long-running fantasy comic out there.

no, but it was heavily influenced by manga. it is an American comic written and drawn by Wendy and Richard Pini. its fucking awesome, and available on their website, for free

if comic books ever make it into school required reading, Elfquest should be part of the canon.
