After seeing the shitfest that is the upcoming SHF Kid Goku, I figured I would look for an alternative. I like how it looks with the bigger figures, but draw your own conclusions.

I honestly think the articulation is ass. The ankle joints are pefectly visible but barely move. The waist is difficult because of his tall hips and pointy abdomen. Wrist joints are basically swivels.

Proportions also look worse than the original prototype.

From the press photos it seems like the latter may be the case and we won't get the plain effect parts with the special edition

This is what I was afraid of after reading a few reviews, but honestly my standards for articulation in action figures have been set by Hasbro's Star Wars Black Series, so saying those standards are low is an understatement.

The one I'm most excited, pending on what the costume will be, is Spider-man. If they don't fuck up the costume and stay on the track ASM 2 started, it could be the best Spider-man figure ever. I think with the star wars SHF they started scaling them closer to the Hasbro 6" line to compete.

Vader and Stormtrooper from the SHF line are so small compared to their Black Series counterparts, Vader especially, so I think after those two were made, Bandai made the conscious decision to upscale them a bit. Which is why Luke is the same height as the SHF Vader even though they're a foot apart in height in the movie,

Fair enough. I also don't think that with exception to the first releases (Vader and Stormtrooper) the Star Wars SHFiguarts are made to scale with other SHFiguarts, too.

My Luke and Maul are massive when standing beside my Zyuurangers or Kamen Rider but they scale perfectly against Hasbro's Black Series Star Wars figures.

The 6" scale in general is really wacky and none of it really adds up. Even within companies they don't really get it right. Try standing a Black Series and Marvel legends figure side by side, both from hasbro, and you understand what I mean.

The 45 was the first design of movie Iron Man I really liked since Mk6, with the main Avengers 1, IM 3, and Mk43 looking like they tried way to hard to be different from the Mk6, which felt like perfection. Overall left seems a bit awkward since its almost like the Mk 45 proportioned like the older suits. I can see them further refining it so that it becomes more and more of its own thing, though.

Most of the Mafex sculpts tend to look as close as they've been shown in their proto photos. The bad thing about that is if the sculpt looked like shit on the prototype (i.e. it looks off or the details are soft), then it's not gonna get any better on the final product.

I was pretty disappointed by her, honestly. The paint apps on mine look like they had to repaint her without wiping the paint underneath (she looks like there are paint chips under her paint if that makes sense).
