Wish the intakes could split on this thing. I would keep the proportions of this and the neat backpack but somehow integrate Badcube's condensed windshield for the chest and split intakes

At least the partsforming takes advantage of being extra parts and has proper joints. The hands can flay out which is something combiners have needed for a long time. The knees look like they have proper range. The arms can hold things up without flopping. It looks like the extra parts at least do something given that there are moving parts in this picture. I still think the drills, while nice, need to be a lot more massive though. If you're going to parts form you might as well make shit huge.

Still given that the dinocombiner was their last outing in combiner territory and it was a floppy piece of shit, I'm still hesitant.

I don't mind some partsforming, but I do prefer how GT's Devy at least attempted to make the forearm blocks integrate in the little robot modes for bonecrusher and scavenger. They have little wheels and are implied generators.

Sorry to quote several of you but I need some Quakewave advice: I have the 2nd run version from Captured Prey and at the time I got him I swapped out his clear purple hand for the solid colored one right away cause I liked it better. Well last week I was going to swap it back for something different and I noticed one of the fingers is assembled on backwards and so he can't close it down into a fist. I looked at taking it apart but it's a pin through thin translucent plastic so I think trying to disassemble it to fix it would be a bad idea.
Would it be worth trying to ask Captured Prey if they'd sell me another clear purple hand (assuming they even have any spares)? I'd even be willing to pay whatever they wanted for it but I don't know if it's been way too long at this point to ask.

I'm angry because they don't all have entirely G1 heads OR more IDW faceplate designs like originally intended. Not Scavenger has a face like G1. Not Bonecrusher is going to have a face now that was changed. Not Mixmaster still has a faceplate. Not scraper has a faceplate that comes with a different head released with not scavenger.

It's going to be bizarre if they have different looking heads. I just want them to be consistent with one another.

Has Perfect Effect dropped any hints that they're going to continue making hands and feet for the Combiner Wars line? There's still Galvatronus, Victorion, Computron, and at least two G2 repaints coming out.

I'd love a repaint of PC-03 and PC-01 for G2 Superion, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they think there won't be enough demand.

It's an ok kit, not amazing but it does the job. The hip skirts hinder some movement slightly but that's my only real complaint. The new hands and head are probably the best part of the kit, but just a warning: you'll need to paint the black areas on Cyclonus's face like in the hollows of his cheeks if you want it to look right.

So yeah don't buy the whole Rear-End set just for the upgrade kit but if you're buying him anyway it's a nice bonus.

Unless Not-Overlord is going to be CW Devastator-sized or some crazy shit, I see no reason he'd be more than Hexatron, who likely requires a shitton more engineering work to make than a guy who only has 3 total modes.

What are some of your major disappointments when it comes to 3rd party collecting? Be it execution or plastic qualities. I haven't delved deep enough into the wallet murdering pit that is 3rd party, but I am getting my second major purchase soon and I'm curious about the experiences of others.

Aesthetically, it does. When it comes to MP scaled figures, I want them to all fit the same aesthetic; smoother panels, hard lines, blockier limbs, etc. Something that fits the G1 cartoon look but with a touch more modern design sensibilities. Accoustic Wave just never had that going for him. Prototype 1 looked alright but the legs turned me off but then Prototype 2 was just a busy mess of greebles. He's loaded with detaily bits and while some people are into that, it looks wrong to me in an MP scale because it makes it stand out against most of the other MP scale figures. There's a time and place for greebles and to me, the MP scale just isn't it. CHUG scale is fine for it but not MP.

Gravity builder looks most like a bigger badder Giant with everything integrated reasonably well but the designs are very distinct takes. I think he means floor polish. Use Pledge Future Shine. Put a drop in the joint and move it around until it starts to dry and it will tighten up the joint. Apply more as needed.

It's much much MUCH safer than the super glue method as it won't run the risk of freezing up the joint completely if you aren't quick enough with keeping the joint moving and it's water soluble so if you do somehow mess up, you can wash it away with warm water and try again.
