how does black series compare with revoltech or bandai?
>>
Best proportions = Bandai kit (though it requires paint)
Best articulation = Revoltech
Best statue = Black series
>>
>>5323528
seeing alot of bootleg black series boba fett on ebay. any idea of quality compared to the real one?
>>
>>5323539

is there bootleg revo bobas out there?

>>
>>5323524
It looks bulkier as opposed to the somewhat skinnier Revo but the Revo blows it away when it comes to articulation, even the guns have a better paint job.

I replaced my black series with the Revo. Might try to sell it.
>>
>>5323539
I wouldn't risk it. Black series Boba is worth his RRP. If it gets more expensive than that you might as well upgrade to Japanese figures.

On that note, the upcoming Mafex Boba looks good so you can also consider that.
>>
I was really impressed with black series Boba out of the box (the paint job is among Hasbro's best work) but after fiddling around with him a little bit I found there are very few poses he can pull off.

Still a great looking figure just standing there though, just don't expect to move him much.
>>
>>5323553
I have both and can confirm this comment.

BS is bulkier and in my view, *slightly* more screen accurate in terms of proportions. Obviously has lackluster articulation, but overall a very good BS figure (to be honest, probably one of the best BS).

Revo is smaller and only slightly skinny; not nearly as tween-skinny as the Revo Vader. Paint is good and articulation is fantastic.

The sculpt leaves lots to be desired.
>>
>>5323661
Yeah, the revoltech sculpt is just okay. The BS sculpt is a pretty inaccurate, goofily proportioned rendition of the actual though. The Bandai kit doesn't have accurate proportions but at least they look good. The upcoming Mafex is the most accurate but is still a little inaccurate.

>>
>>5323528
>Best statue = Black series
I don't get this.

I settled with Hoth Boba after failing to get regular Fett and I've had no problems posing him. Sure I can't do animu poses, but I can give that guy a good range of motion.
>>
>>5323835
he has almost no forward range in the hips, elbows are similarly near worthless, etc. It's not a good figure for posing at all.

Oh, and don't say "you can just turn the belt around," because that isn't a solution, it's a way or ruining the appearance completely for range of motion. And if it's what hasbro needs to make pouches on figures then we don't need much more confirmation for how lackluster they really are.

Let's not forget the weird rough surface all over the armor and shit paintjob. It's the worst out of all of them. It may not be as dynamically proportioned as the revoltech, but the revoltech's purpose is to be super articulate, whereas the black series purpose is to.. what, exactly? Fail miserably at every option available?
>>
>>5323819

Funny, but I think I'm going to grab Jango just because I prefer his aesthetics better

>he has almost no forward range in the hips
I've had him in sitting position without moving the belt, just lifting the pouches and he sits fine.

>elbows are similarly near worthless
They bend? He can hold his rifle properly although he can't cross his arms if that what you're really looking for.

>Let's not forget the weird rough surface all over the armor and shit paintjob.
Again, I on;y have the Hoth ver. so I can't comment on the pintjob though I'm sure by experience a paint job can be messy and/or godawful sometimes, and frankly I like the textured armor.

To say its the worst of them compared to something that looks like body parts joint together by balls and gaps? Well, that that's just your opinion, man. Revo looks less like a person than the Black Series quite frankly. I does look nice at a certain angle, but turn it and the magic is gone.
>>
>>5323850
>I've had him in sitting position without moving the belt, just lifting the pouches and he sits fine.
post it. And then post the aftermath of the pouches being bent. Unless you mean you just bent the upper body back far enough to slide the belt upward, in which case it's still not a solution.

The revo isn't that good proportionally, you're correct, but the BS has abysmal articulation and a mediocre sculpt/paint job, it's worth $10, not $20.
>>
>>5323870
what's funny is in the OP, the shot shows one hip moving barely 45 degrees forward, and the belt is already showing stress marks at the pouch's edge. I can't even imagine how bad it'll look if you try making it sit.
>>
>>5323870
I would post if I was at home, and yes the pouches bend, then go back in place. Not something worth crying about.

> BS has abysmal articulation and a mediocre sculpt/paint job, it's worth $10, not $20
I understand his articulation is not close to 8/10, specially considering they've had better articulated figures on the line. The sculpt comes down to a matter of opinion honestly, by those standards the kit beats both by far (I wish he had clothed goods tho but that's me) and really $40 is way too much for something that's really disproportionate and looks good only at special angles.
>>
>>5323885
>I would post if I was at home, and yes the pouches bend, then go back in place. Not something worth crying about.
I'd still like to see it, because I doubt they go back into place properly. Again, just look at the OP, it's already stressing at 45 degrees, at 90 it'll be near ripping if not ripped.

>>5323835
But still not an amazing range of motion. It doesn't need to be animu level but still.

I do like the Black Series Boba, the sculpt and paint is much more than I'd expect from Hasbro but the Revo is just so much more fun as a desk toy.
>>
>>5323961
dem gaps
>>
>>5323961
Personally its the aesthetics and gaps that bug me too much to enjoy it. If the revo joint was placed differently and sculpted better I'd enjoy it. But being as it is its fun to feedle with but its not something I'd look at constantly and definitely sot worth twice as much imo.
>>
>>5323524
But what's the best RotJ Boba Fett? I noticed that most of these Boba Fett figures are his Empire colors.

I have both the Black Series & the Revoltech. Black Series has a better sculpt, but the Revo has better articulation.

The Mafex looks super good too, I have that on pre-order.

It's far less work than it sounds. The build itself is elementary (much easier than Gundam kits) and you can get a great-looking result even with just few dabs of silver paint.

The Bandai kit if you paint it white.
Mafex will probably be the best choice once that gets released but that's the normal colors and not white.

What other name would that position be? Its not standing, or lying down, or squatting.

I've fiddled with the regular version, its the same soft plastic. Black Series is by no means as articulated as Revo or the future SHF, but by no means a MacFarlane.

You do have to weather it yourself for it to look right, but a little dry brushing is easy enough.
>>
>>5325697
Normal version definitely can't do this. If you did, you would've already done some ripping to the belt piece. Not to mention this is still hardly sitting, and can easily severely warp the PVC belt.
>>
>>5323524
Black series has the best sculpt and most screen-accurate paint. His posability is limited, but not as bad as everyone on here says it is.

Revo will give you the best poses

bandai will give you a pretty good sculpt with pretty good articulation, you just have to deal with putting it together and painting.
>>
>>5323975

I could do that, but all 6inch Bobas have his Empire color scheme? I find that hard to believe. I mean, it's not like Vader where just a button color changes, there are some notable differences. There's not even an exclusive release of it somewhere?

Painting the Model Kit won't do much, there are several physical differences between how he appears in ESB and ROTJ. It's not just paint differences.
>>

>>
>>5340820

>>
>>5340826
And do you have any examples of that, or are you just going to continue barely giving any information to anything? I didn't think asking about this was so completely ridiculous in thread about Boba Fett figures.
>>
>>5340841

>>
>>5340854
No, examples of a Boba Fett model kit with such scratchbuilt changes, if it's been done.
>>
>>5340872
No idea if it has been done. But since you said painting won't do the physical differences for the model kit, then scratchbuilding will help.
>>
>>5340885
Alright, then I might as well give it a try and post results then. Maybe it won't turn out so shitty if painting these things is as easy as some people say.
>>
>>5323528
>Best statue = Black series
It has three problems.

1- the pouches on his front aren't jointed so they hinder poses
2- his elbows don't got deep enough because they didn't cut the joint to preserve the sculpt.
3-his shoulder articulation is not top tier also partly due to sculpt be he can still get decent poses.

As is he's quite flexible in the leg region and has an ab crunch+swivel. A cut ere, a joint addition there and he'd be just as good as any figurarts.

The sculpt on him is superb as well. No reason anyone who wants him shouldn't get him.
