Any Christmas money I get this year will probably go towards the figures I want from the upcoming Spidey wave, though. Or I might use it to get one of the figures I wanted that I missed.

whats the absolute best Venom figure? I want one thats bulky in design and not a PAK.

preferably one that could be posed with a 6 inch scale spiderman, which i also don't know exactly to get, thinking about the figma one, but id actually prefer a comic styled one.

TLDR: Good Spidey and Venom figures for 6 inch scale, though venom could be a little bit bigger for more bulk.

Select one is great, but it's more in the 7-8 inch scale. Legends is coming out with one in a few months. It isn't as good as Select in terms of sculpt and accessories, but it has a slightly better range of articulation.

The articulation on the Legends will be much better, considering how much work has to go into the MS just to get semi-decent movement out of the diaphragm joint. But at the same time, that better articulation on the Legends comes by way of the shitty Hyperion body, which completely kills any sort of advantage it may have had as a toy. They really need to retire that piece of shit body and bring the large frame up to the standards of the Grim Reaper body.

Marvel Select Ultimate Venom has a really good heft to him. While it is an early MS with a sorta preposed stance to him, good enough to get a few cool poses and is very big and intimidating looking. Ultimate Venom doesn't have the spider symbol on his chest, but since everyone loves the 616 version, they have an Ultimate Venom variant with the symbol and the one that fetches the more pretty penny.

Might be a bit more expensive nowadays.

Note: I had the original one, traded it away back then for a Dragonman, but then there's a rerun version also. The rerun version has a slight purple tint to him more, which put me off from buying him again.

As an aside, I am a 1:18 guy. And I've found that the movie Hawkeye figure's head, while looking like absolute shit and nothing like Jeremy Renner, makes an excellent unmasked Matt Murdock.

So now I use that headsculpt with my Daredevils.

XMEn embargo only stops them from making toys that Fox would get licensing fees from, so only designs from the movies aren't produced.
All fees made of comic designs all go toward Marvel Comics (where Disney eventually gets a cut). That's why we still see comic figures like this being made.

A billion dollar says the Deadpool wave will just be comic designs, just like the Wolverine line that was released to coincide with Wolverine movie sequel.

I think there's a bit of an X-Men embargo. Some statue company said their X-Men statue was canceled for BS reasons & there's just not a whole lot of X-Men stuff out right now in general.

Deadpool is the exception, I see Deadpool stuff everywhere. I'm going to assume this is because his merchandise sells better than most MCU properties (I'm guessing only behind Spidey, Iron Man, Cap & general Avengers).

The ML X-Men wave might be Marvel's way of just trying to kill the rumor or them going "THIS IS WHAT X-MEN IS REALLY LIKE!" The movies are good, but they're not really like the comics.

Hasbro has been making XMen figures since forever and never stopped. The only difference from when W:XMO came out til the shitty FF movie was announced was that Fox movie figures stopped being a thing.

Perhaps "embargo" isn't entirely accurate, but there's definitely been a conscious effort to produce less X-Men figures in the collector lines until now except for one understocked store-exclusive wave only put out to capitalize on a movie release and maybe a Mutant character in a con exclusive boxset here or there.

Picked up Ant Man for 11 bucks yesterday at Walmart, goddamn he's a neat little figure. Surprisingly posable, too.

Cleared a little bit off the ankle joint to give him more clearance, any other non-invasive fixes I should know about? I kinda remember the one about the mouth, but I actually don't care for that one as much.

Fox has only given us good villain designs in the films and we know how hasbro feels about movie villains. Even in Apocalypse, Magneto, Archangel, Psylocke, i even think Apocalypse looks ok, but the x-men....look like football players in starship troopers or something.

Here's what I did for jubilee. got a spider-girl (anya corazon) for the body. Diluted nail polish remover, and used q-tips to remove the spider logo. bought a jubilee head, effects, and two right arms from ebay. bought an old toy biz generation x jubillee (the one with the silly roller blades) from ebay (for the coat).

heat and pop spidergirl's arms, and left fist. heat and pop one of the jubliee hands, and replace with the spidergirl fist.

put it all together, bend jube's left arm appropriately, and you got yourself a relatively cheap jubilee. I'm sure there are better, more skillful ways to accomplish this, but mine looks rad to me.

Picked up Wasp for 12 bucks. Very happy with her, since stores are overstocked with Antman and some spidey and all father waves, I was able I get one with a good paint job and nice eyes.

The weird thing about Psylocke's high cut bikini outfit is how inconsistently it was drawn. Not in terms of artist to artist, but from panel to panel. I think it had more to do with the fact that he's mostly reused parts so there wasn't a lot of newly sculpted parts needed to make him.

It doesn't bother me though cause the Absorbing man is a great classic character that deserves a decent figure. The Hulk Classics one is horrible and the FFF one is just too small.

Yeah, I think they definitely could. She may not have an actual spandex costume but she pretty consistently wears the same outfit throughout the show so it's not like it'd just be a random plainclothes female figure.

If it were the comic version of the character I'd say there's no chance since there's not a lot of reuse they can do with that mold, but they make original molds for movie figures all the time that aren't likely to be reused for anything except maybe a recolor of the character.

Can't wait. Managed to pre-order the whole wave loose (Except for Morbius) except for Gwen and Venom. (And Venom's not that big of a deal since I have the select)
I still need to get Rhino wave scarlet spider, and maybe superior Venom. Haven't even seen that wave in Canada yet. Getting Spider-Gwen is gonna be a bitch though.

Just found this in my basement. Unfortunately do not have the new Ghost Rider to display it with. Only the crappy toybiz one.

How rare are the vehicles? Seen lots of people post their ghost rider but never with the motorcycles. Am I just lucky to have gotten them 10 years ago and saved them?

Believe it or not, the big time Spidey was my first marvel legends. Basically my first Marvel figure. I saw it in a London drugs for like, $14 so I picked it up and I loved the quality (Other than the awful paint job), and now I have a ton of figures.
Does anybody have any tips for painting it? I've been considering it for awhile, but am too afraid to mess it up. What sort of paint should I get? and would painter's tape over the green lines/eyes be good? Or should I just paint the entire thing black and just repaint the green?
