Sorry I missed your comment. I'm not a good photographer in the least, but I'll try.

More light seems to equal less grainy pics. If you have shaky hands you need to use a tripod or something to lock the camera in place. Take lots of pics. Go ahead and use photoshop. Use macro mode(the little flower). Almost all my pics have been on "Auto" mode, but recently I've been experimenting with controlling the f-stop.
