anyone else looking forward to/buying poster version King Ghidorah?

I missed out last time, so i gotta go for this. Whats the word on them wings?
>>
>>5284796
Is that the new one that's heard to be a shit ton better than the original?
>>
>>5284825
idk about material wise, but it coems with:

-his own stand to put him in a flying mode or to have godzilla lift him by his tails
-KIDS time machine with stand
-blue, red, and yellow beam effects

Don't be a fucking faggot. You haven't provided a pastebin or any useful information like release dates like the other generals, there is literally no reason for anyone to wait for you specifically to create a thread or leave this perfectly good one for yours which does nothing differently.
>>
>>5284880
But there is none beside statue shit for godzilla
>>
>>5284921
No shit, so why would we need one specific person to make the generals?
>>
>>5284796
Yo, when's the release for this? I missed out on initial KG cuz I was scared of the wings, but now I hear it's improved (?)

January

>>
I want to get Monsterarts but the latefag tax is too damn high.
>>
>>5285188
You have some good opportunities at the moment:

Godzilla 2000 repaint and kiryu HA are still decently priced (compared to then) right now I think, ghidorahs gonna be out in January.

It depends on who you want really
>>
>>5284880
We used to have a badass OP that made super bulky OPs filled with upcoming release dates for every piece of Godzilla merch, then I think /toy/ either trolled him out or he got annoyed of the constant arguing.

I'm scared, i fear the end of the line is upon us.
>>
>>5285608
It's pretty much "Dead", but it will have a few final releases before Bandai finally kills it off

>Shin Godzilla
>New Gamera

Both are the only I can see besides maybe a repaint somewhere in there.
>>
>>5285608
>Spacegodzilla poster version
>Blown off head Gigan 2004
>Glitterfied Godzilla 1993(the rodan fusion scene)
>Nuclear Pulse Godzilla 2000

Tbh i wouldnt be agaisnt spacegodzilla just cuz hes super expencive and i love him. glitter godzilla might be a cool novelty.

i doubt theyd be cool enough to release a Mechagodzilla 1993 with garuda combo pack
>>
>>5286159
Don't forget Rodan 1993 Normal version. They even had a prototype shown off.
>>
>>5285608

>>
Thinking of getting Birth Godzilla for 5970 Yen(shipped). Best deal I can find as a Canadian.

How is the general QC on this guy? Do I have to worry about getting Derp eyes?
>>
>>5286316
if you want to wait on it, ive heard they are reissueing him in a different hue
>>
>>5286333

Any source?
>>
>>5286333

>>
>>5286268
If Godzilla 2014 is any indication we'll get one Godzilla and a few repaints at best for Godzilla Resurgence.
>>
>>5286386
I doubt it's an indication; toho wanted to play it safe incase Godzilla 14 was another '98. Godzilla '98 had a pretty big push by Toho, with all kinds of merchandise and things. All of which was basically disowned after a couple years.
>>
>>5286405
Then when the hell is Monsterarts MUTO happening? Also Godzilla 2014 actually had a pretty sizable merchandising push here. Nowhere near the extent of 98 but there was a full toyline and a whole lotta the usual merch.

Just that repaint ghidorah, and that one NECA PR thing.
>>
>>5284796
Pre-ordered mine back in August the instant I saw it existed. I needed Ghidorah bad. Just fleshed out the money for Spacegodzilla as well because I don't trust this company to reprint/release repaints of anything they've made before.

how do you deal with saggy tails for monsterarts? my 2k special color and 2014 goji are having this issue
>>
>>5287758
For those specific issues, it's something particular to those figures. G2000 and G2014 were made of softer plastic and the tail region had smaller ball joints. So you sacrifice pose for flexibility and joints.

Wait for another anon to confirm this, but I've heard if you leave the figs in a freezer for a certain amount of time the joints will tighten

Anyone see any chance of NECA doing any of the other monsters later on in the future?

not really. they are struggling to get licence approval for the remaining Godzillas they want to do. We'll get more Godzillas from them before anything else. its a shame, monsterarts isnt doing shit and neca would do a good job with the licences

Was recently in a Jappo merch store and did my usual ritual of buying one random Ultraman kaiju vinyl based entirely on how silly/rad it looked.

I'm gonna get back into it with Ginga. Most of the designs from it that I've seen are rad as balls.
>>
>>5296192
Probably not the best idea. Despite having some cool designs and a great theme song, Ginga is a not so great show. It's incredibly, painfully low budget and frankly pretty damn boring. That said its sequel series Ultraman Ginga S is a big improvement in both the writing and budget department. You can also give the newest series Ultraman X a try, since it's being simulcast through Crunchyroll.

The best Ultraman series are the original Ultraman and Ultraman Seven. (The sequel to Ultraman)

After that it's whatever, if you're interested in cool monsters, definetly check out Ultraman Taro, and Ultraman 80 is available on crunchyroll. Don't watch any new Ultraman series though, they're pretty much Sentai-level baby shit now. Anything pre-90's is the way to go.

Also if you're really curious, there's a prequel to Ultraman worth checking out called Ultra Q that's essentially a Japanese X-Files equivalent. (No Ultraman, but features monsters of different origins and anomalies)

Assumming Neca has a few more Godzilla versions to make, who would you want for the remainder? My top ones:

FinaruGoji (I just love Bruce Lee godzilla, I always felt banpresto did a better job than x plus at capturing him)

KiryuGoji (literally a must, the only millennium godzilla that hasn't gotten a 6 inch fig)

Godzilla 1974/75(I need jackie chan godzilla)

>>
>>5298071
You can't. The site staff are assholes who abuse connections (see Chris Mirjahanagaigairgigrigr and Michal Shipman working with Bluefin and then Shipman starting his scalping of SHMA knowing when stock is drying up and Mirjahangarballs covering his ass), the mods are, simply put, blabbering idiots with a 3rd grade education who silence anyone who talks about the quality of the site and let people who were permabanned back every other week, and then the user base is pretty dumb, too.

As for the site.... Shit, nigga, it's written by a 12-year old.
>>
Any webstores have good deals on SHMA stuff? I know of one that has a coupon that can be used with any purchase. Any others?
>>
>>5309185
Barnes and Noble has a Black friday 30% off coupon ending today. will take SCV Godzilla 2000 down to about $55 shipped. Code is 30BFRIDAY
>>
>>5309153
To play devil's advocate for a second here, Chris doesn't abuse his connections as much as he shills for them and makes promises he never keeps (Where's the results of the Bandai survey?). Shipman's basically fucked off to parts unknown after the recent Tamashii survey where they revealed SHMA Zero was in the works.

>let people who were permabanned back every other week

That literally happened only once and it was one of the admins who had a crazy religion outburst about "forgiveness for all" and everyone on the site agreed it was a bad idea. He too has fucked off to parts unknown.

I will not disagree with you on the user base being fucking stupid. There are a few knowledgeable people here and there, but it's a distinct minority. The newer mods are also retarded, deleting threads for virtually no reason and ignoring obvious flaming attempts.

But, in the end, it's the best place for Godzilla discussion at the moment and it's better than nothing I suppose.
>>
>>5306774
I really want Zilla. And I think they already confirmed Toho said no, but I'd love a Hannah Barbera Godzilla. Otherwise I think all my favorite Gojis are pretty well covered by NECA and SHMA, but I guess I could go for one of the really goofy looking ones, like 1966.

I doubt it would be covered by the license they've got, but I'd love if they did some mechagodzillas, even if it was one with the fake Godzilla skin beginning to burn off.

This. Not that I couldn't believe Randy would just make up an excuse, but he's usually pretty straightforward about figures he just doesn't want to do and Toho is pretty strict with what they let get produced.
>>

Does anyone fucking know if there will be a new (Non American) Godzilla Movie? Final Wars was great, but it's been years...

Also When's the release date for OP's King Ghidorah fig??

>>

I hope they do some day. I could see them doing a lot of the lesser monsters SH will never do.

As a side note tho I was able to find an original release ghidorah for 75$ shipped, but I had to assemble it myself. You might be able to find something like that. Mine was probably assembled from spare parts smuggled out in a workers shirt or something, but honestly having assembled him myself almost makes him more fun to have. So if you can put up with him arriving in parts in a shoebox there might be an option out there. I'll see if I can find where I bought it from.
>>
>>5311390
I'm not sure if they're still up, but Ebay also has (mostly) assembled loose Ghidorahs for around$130-180 shipped. I got mine in February like that. Head, tails, and neck are unattached. First time I attached the wings, it came loose and fell off, breaking a tip, but the seller replaced it. It seems fine otherwise, some minor paint scuffs and stiff joints, but otherwise good. I don't touch the wings much, though; which is a shame because they seem well articulated in theory.

That's still a lot of money... I'd love a NECA quality figure for NECA prices...25 bucks max
>>
>>5311412
Otachi is probably the closest thing to what a NECA KG could be and its still like $60.
>>

just buy a vinyl off of ebay if SHMAs are too rich for your blood.

NECA would give KG rubber bendy necks, so just be happy that they haven't made him.

"Come off" what? I'm not exactly a Zilla fan of any kind. I specified about the snark because the first time I ever brought it up in a kaiju general, other people missed the fact that his comment was derogatory and thought "oh, we might get it eventually!" Don't jump so hard to conclusions, could fuck up your knees that way.

It's a fun concept, but it wouldn't really work out as a single figure. Monser X has almost no visual similarities to Keiser Ghidorah, so you'd either end up sacrificing something and ending up with a clearly half-assed Ghidorah mode, or you'd end up having made two completely separate figures.

I'd suggest keeping your day job. It's a good idea, but not one that could work in practice.

>>
>>5320789
he also did a movie before Godzilla called Monsters. It took place in a world where giant jellyfish alien monsters took over a large portion of america, that has been since barricaded off from civilization
The movie is about 2 strangers who, through a series of unfortunate events, are forced to cross the infested part of America alone.
The movie was really about the developing relationship between the two, the monster thing was just a setting, and it was written amazingly. After I saw this movie I was like "Oh nice! This guy really knows how to write human characters, I'm excited to see how he handles the human story in godzilla"

Then we got a human story focusing on the most bland blank slate of a character I've seen in a long time. Did not see that coming at all..
>>
>>5320798
Wasnt his Script, that was max Borenstien derived from a story by Dave callahan with some help by drew peirce and frank darabont

if they didnt make cranston such a big deal in the first part (dont really see the big deal with him, malcolm in the middle was cool and all i guess) and focused on the kid it wouldve been better
>>
>>5320820
>dont really see the big deal with him, malcolm in the middle was cool and all i guess

Anon there's a little show called Breaking Bad that starred him, maybe you should probably give it a watch.
>>
>>5320847
I know it exists, but i guess i dont really buy into actor hype for a movie. unless like Jackie Chan was playing Joe then maybe i wouldve been disapointed in his death or screentime
>>
>>5320820
>and focused on the kid
it absolutely would not have. Malcom in the Middle dad's kid was the worst part about that movie. He was the problem. Super dull.
>>
>>5320820
>if they didnt make cranston such a big deal in the first part (dont really see the big deal with him, malcolm in the middle was cool and all i guess) and focused on the kid it wouldve been better

I honestly think the opposite, his character was the only one to feel like they had emotion. The kid felt flat and emotionless whereas the dad had a real drive to find out about goji.
>>
I honestly really like G14. It was the most classic Godzilla feeling movie I'd seen.
>>
>>5322189
I loved a lot and I've watched the original Godzilla since as far back as I can remember. And unloved it a lot more when I realized the humans in the movie literally don't matter. Nothing they do is effective at all and really only serves to make things worse. Which I feel like is very much in the spirit of the old movies, with throwaway scientists and people that don't matter; the only one that matters is Godzilla.

> Which I feel like is very much in the spirit of the old movies, with throwaway scientists and people that don't matter; the only one that matters is Godzilla.

You're probably not going to enjoy most Godzilla movies if you can't enjoy the human element. It's something you got to appreciate when you're watching the movies..and in time you start coming around to liking certain characters or recurring actors.
>>
>>5322354
I do like the movies, I like basically all of them and have seen them all. But the people don't accomplish anything. Its like, the people aren't the point and people like to shut on G14 because of the useless main characters when it's perfectly in line with every other Godzilla movie.
>>
>>5322349
>people in series don't matter

No disrespect, but a lot of the times they really impact the story and cause a lot of the events on the movie:

Serizawa in 1954
Godzilla vs The Sea Monster's castaway cast who wake him up and drive the plot
Katsura in Terror of MG
Miki in biollante, MG2, and SpaceGodzilla
Akane along with most of the rest of the cast in Godzilla x Mechagodzilla

I could name a bunch more, but the people do matter and create events, situations, and feelings that matter to the movie. If a godzilla movie was all monsters fighting and no side human plot to run along side it, it would be entertaining for like 10 minutes but it wouldn't have much to care for. A godzilla movie needs a human element to create emotional connections in its own right. Sure sometimes one has to make up for the other, in Deatroyah the kaiju plot was pretty much playing double duty to make up for the particularly weak human plot (whenever it wasn't Aso or Kuroki), but we need t to create emotional content
>>

I don't think I like the design THAT much. It's fine, it'll work. It's good that they're doing something new, like all Godzilla movies. But definitely not one of my favorites by any stretch.

That may change when I see it in motion, who knows. Too many teeth though. Well, in such a weird "nightmare" fashion I guess. I was fine with double rows of teeth on Godzilla.

The teeth don't look functional at all, nothing has teeth like that besides deep-sea fish, and that's just because they need to blindly hook a meal in the shittiest conditions possible.

This is the first time I've seen a kaiju thread on here. Any collectors of the more stylized lines? Its not something I see posted about a lot and I'm kind of wondering why. Here's a random shot of some of my glow figures.

Those are laid out in a way that makes sense to hook passing fish. Godzilla's are straight up and down as if he is supposed to chew with those things.

Also:

> "Sharks with needle-like teeth commonly feed on small to medium fish and or other small sharks. Their teeth are especially effective for their prey because they can easily grip their slippery and narrow meals. Some examples are the blue shark and bull sharks. These sharks specifically use their teeth to feed on small prey like squid, flounder, stingrays, and even hammerhead sharks.[4]"

Just wait till the suicide scene, the laughter gets replaced with awkwardness.

I need some help

I'm looking for mechagodzilla, destroyah, ghidorah, mothra, and given
But I want posable figures. How I can tell or which series has them?

I mostly see statues
>>
>>5357019
How do I get a hold of the first Godzilla vs mechagodzilla with at least English subs
>>
>>5357922
>Given

Do you mean Gigan?

The Monsterarts line has all of them poseable, but Gigan is in his Final Wars form. If you want classic Gigan, the Revoltech is your best bet.
>>
>>5357930
Yes, it was auto correct

So ghidorah does have posable tail, legs, neck at least?
Some sites don't specify so it makes me hesitant
>>
>>5357936
Not that anon but yes monsterarts has the best posable godzilla figures although prepare to get raped in the wallet.
>>
>>5357950
I can treat myself to one every other pay check if I keep my finances in check

I'm just glad that there are some posable figures out there, I assumed they were all statues beside godzilla
>>
>>5357950
Do you mind posting which ones you have?

I'm looking at ghidorah (hopefully it won't sell out before I can preorder it) destroyed and mechagodzilla

From what I see they look really nice

Merry Kaiju Christmas my fellow monster loving chums!
Did you get anything giant monster related this year?
I got quite the haul:
Revoltech Gigan
Monsterarts Emergence 1964 Godzilla
2000 Godzilla (original)
Revoltech Rodan
And also a Mothra necklace not pictured.
>>
>>5357992
Is it normal to be ashamed of the Godzilla 2000 figure just because the movie was so bad
>>
>>5358040
Godzilla 2000: Millennium isn't as great as people claim it but I wouldn't call it bad. I wouldn't be ashamed to own a figure of a movie I didn't like. When I became an adult I ended up realizing destroyah wasn't a particularly good movie, but I love my burning g, same for my tokyo SOS kiryu: disappointed in the movie, love the figure
>>
>>5358040
Well it's unusual to have such terrible taste.
Actually you're feelings are totally valid even though I disagree with them!
>>
>>5358055
I want to talk about Godzilla movies but /tv/ has their head up their ass about star wars
>>
>>5358056
the figure looks badass
I just associate it with the movie, which imo is the worst one

I don't know how I'd fare having it without a proper figure to pair with it
>>
>>5358077
Okay, it's cool to not dig on 2000, but the worst one?!
I mean, c'mon, Godzilla's Revenge still exists.
>>
>>5358081
Alright, you got me
I was told to stay far away from revenge so I did

Someone recommended 2000 and I bought it first and watched it

How can destroy all monsters be so old and be so good?
>>
I literally just finished Millenium. It has flaws, character motivations and the way they act doesn't make sense some times, and the one actual fight it had wasn't that interesting, but it's still far from the worst Godzilla movie.
It's average. Alien monster that looks like it's from Metal Slug, and the proper alien monster had cool designs.
>>
>>5357929
Watched it on TV, I have no idea.
>>
>>5357929
There is a torrent floating around with every goji movie as well as a bunch of other movie monsters in it. It's like the Monster Madness pack or something. I believe it has the english dub with it, though.
>>
>>5357992

>>
>>5358260
I think it's over 100 dollars
Apparently it's rare
>>
>>5358101
Yeah, the manga of 2000 was way better (like the destroyah and Mothra 92 books as well), they actually went into detail about Io's mother and played more with the idea of the aliens. I also like the fact that when you think about it, Katagiri really did nothing wrong in the movie

>>5358224
I remember back when godzilla vs MG 74 was such a common movie, I said "meh, I have the VHS dub, I don't need the DVD. It'll always be available"

I'm okay though, probably because the 70s and some 60s dubs are the only godzilla dubs I can stand

>Send mom my amazon wishlist since she always manages to get the wrong thing. (There's no way to screw up if you have someones amazon wishlist right?)
>On my wishlist is the ultraact/figuarts of the manga ultraman
>last week I found out theres a special version coming out with an alternate head I want
>"Oh shit! I hope I don't get that Ultraact then... It's not like mom has ever gotten me any figures since I was a kid"
>Christmas morning
>I got the Manga Ultraman figure
>The one time she gets it right is when I end up not wanting it in the end

I sound bitter with that greentext story, but I'm not. I love it and I love my mom. She's the best mom, and I'm thankful for all she does for me.

Also
>Ask for Ultraman Manga issue 1 and 2, since I want to start reading it
>I only got issue 2
>>

It's really a shame one of the best seminal godzilla films can't be easily accessible on DVD. The closest there is for normies is the iTunes Store
>>
>>5358370
You know, early this year they were putting a lot of the movies on blu ray

I had my fingers crossed for all of them but they ended up doing all the 90s and up and completely left out the rest

Kind of disappointed
>>
>>5358380
The sad thing is, I managed to get an upload of godzilla vs king Ghidorah from metacafe (the JPN cut) and that's actually more intact than what sony put out. Has all the proper credits and everything. And the quality difference isn't even that big.

It's nice especially for mg2, Spacegodzilla, destroyah, and 2000 because the print and version differences are worth it, and it's nice if kraken to release the 3 Showa movies, but yeah MG74 idk what's happening there

There's youtube videos where it shows stop motion animation of the figures with a nice close up of them, at least for Destroyah and Ghidorah. You looking for MechaG 2 or Kiryu MechaG?

Do they still SH monsterarts Mechagodzilla type 3 and Destroyah
>>
>>5358996
how do they get the animation so smooth like that?! it looks like real motion
>>
>>5358996
I'm sold, that is amazing work

If I get all 3 of them I'd be content for awhile

So since new Ghido is out in Japan, did anyone stumble upon some new photos from our anime friends?
