>>

All the potential good essence was drained from Scattershot and given to him
>>
>>5277558
Actually, it all went to Vicky.
>>
>>5277555
They're probably waiting to see if Hasbro's got more plans for CW, before they get to work on new figure or torso's.

I for one, can't wait for the new PM Optimus Prime to be released, so they can start working on a new transforming cab section (let's be honest, it's going to be the same cab as Magnus, with Minimus repainted as Hi-Q).
>>
>>5277321

Ohhh fuck yes I need muh Bruticus.

And holy shit that Scattershot looks fucking terrible what were they thinking why are they even bothering with Not-Computron.
>>
>>5277573
>what were they thinking
"Those stupid fags will buy anything"
That's what they were thinking.
>>
>>5277573
What bothers me about Scattershot is how they went the extra mile to give Cyclonus new stuff for jet, and combined mode, while Scattershot gets fucked over.

They could have at least made the giant canon in jet mode removable so the combiner could use it.
>>
>>5277501

Yes. The figs are honestly pretty fucking good overall. And the gestalt bots were always some of the biggest stand outs in the show.

Their ONLY mistakes are not doing a regular Devastator, and not doing ALL the original gestalts. No fucking G1 Predaking is a goddamn insult, especially if shit like Computron/Betatron is getting made.
>>
>>5277493

yes because Hasbro is going to be doing the Technobots.

>>5277501

Yes because i remember the days Hasbro said they were never going to do Combiners and here we are having combiners at war with each other.
>>
>>5277501
Making Groove a regular sized bike and adding Rook to the protectobots was great, I hope it actually sticks.
>>
>>5277607
>Galvatron VS Rodimus set

Voyager sized Roddy confirmed? Since we're already getting Voyager(?) Galvatron, it'd look fucked if they don't do a similarly sized Rod.
>>
So a local bargain place has CW devastator for $90, plus it's now at 20% off.

Is it worth it? The bit modes look like shit, but is combined mode worth about 80 after tax?
>>
>>5277628
Main reason I can't bring myself to buy Devastator is the jankyass bot modes, how the fuck did Hasbro shit the bed so hard with arguably the most iconic combiner? For $80 I'd say it's worth some consideration, worse comes to worse if you're underwhelmed you can prolly resell it for what you paid and get your money back.
>>
>>5277638
Turns out it's 25% off, so about 75. I'm going to get it and figure I could resell it for about that if I want.
>>
Has UK TRU got MP starscream ? I really want to get it and I'll be in UK this week end, so I wanted to ask you guys.
>>
>>5277628
Look, G1 kid here, grew up with brick bots so I don't give a shit that the elbows are missing on two figures. I listened to this board early on, was outraged, then I got CW Devastator as a gift and loved it. Yes, individually the Constructicons are a bit lacking, but devastator is fantastic. How often do you plan to display them individually? Probably never, right?
>>
>>5277645
>>5277638

Honestly except for Long Haul I think the individual modes look WAY nicer than Devastator. They are almost perfect in appearance.

People need to stop using this excuse. Devastator was cool, but the Constructons as a whole were a big appeal. I love the headsculpts on these things, but it's just atrocious that they made them so large and lacking in basic articulation.

For $80 a chance to trial run owning it to see whether or not you like it first hand is a smash of a deal compared to every one else who paid twice as much.

And If you are expecting to not like it, don't tear off or cut open the tape, but peel it lightly so that you can replace it on the package, nothing is tied or taped in so you can easily return the thing looking like brand new so long as you don't fuck it up. If you've decided you want to return it after 3-4 days just tell the customer service the kid you gifted it too already had it or some other bullshit like too stupid to put it together or whatever. People in the customer service industry don't get paid enough to hassle customers over returns, customer is always right is the policy at $99 of businesses. Listen to your own opinion, not a biased reviewer that has to appease his own audience/bandwagon to be part of the "in crowd."

I'm new to TF and want to pick up my first. What are the best Starscream and Red Alert?
>>
>>5278058
>Best Starscream
Depends on which iteration you're looking for. Probably want to go for the Masterpiece V2 Mold, MP-11. If that's too expensive for you, the upcoming Leader class figure might suit your needs.

>Best Red Alert
Definitely the Masterpiece, but, again, if that is out of your price range, the Generations figure is fairly neat, though his head isn't red. The Japanese release (known as the Henkei release) fixes this.
>>
>>5278058
G1 or in general?
>>
>>5278064

Armada for Red Alert if possible.
>>
>>5278087
>Armada

Alright, ignore everything in >>5278063 .

Best Armada Red Alert is probably the original figure from the Armada line. He had a new figure in the Cybertron line, but I haven't heard many good things about it.
>>
>>5277493
I already have a good Silverbolt and Cyclonus so yeah I ordered Scattershot.
>>
>>5278092
G1 Red Alert is a fantastic toy.
>>
How am I supposed to attach Slipstream's null rays in her altmode?
>>
>>5278186
There's a notch on the underside of the Null Ray. Slide that notch over the small fin on her arm, then gently push in and pull up until the hook on the back of the null ray clips onto the top of her forearm.
>>
>>5278202
But aren't they supposed to face forward in altmode?
>>
>>5277690
nah i see his POV. he probably just got done playing devastation so he wants menasor and devastator same size to fit with his MP soundwave, seekers, and CW megatron, as well as insecticons of differing sizes
>>
I'm assuming Onslaught is a Voyager?
>>
>>5278025
Christ that looks like my Walmart too. Several of them.
>>
>>5277983
>Not wanting best Megs
Alright
>>
>>5278212

Sorry, didn't see you said Alt Mode.

It's basically the same, though: Push the notch down onto the fin on her arm. This time you want the hook at the front of her Null Ray to lock in on her forearm.

Unfortunately her null rays don't actually point straight forward in altmode. The design was a really great idea to keep from having to retool the arms to fit a weapong, but I can't help thinking she'd have been better served by a goddamn pair of 5mm ports.

Eh, even Takara's not infalable.
>>

He looks good with most deluxes, if you have leader seekers you should't have any issues, remember theres a leader Soundwave on the way.
>>
>>5278446
Let me guess. The add on kit will be more expensive than the figure is.
>>
>>5278454
That's how 3rd party works, you could always import the takara Megatron so the figure is more expensive ...if that helps.
>>
>>5278456
Ha.

It just kind of sucks sometimes. I get why it is the way it is, but sometimes it's crazy. I have the PE hands and feet which is roughly $40 shipped and I only use the feet as just feet. Not the weapons. Yeah it adds height and ankles, but for $40?
>>
>>5278469
Yeah, not worth it, the feet always looked way too big for me, but there is already a ko version coming so I may get them if they're cheap.

>>
>>5278454

No made up new members, no old characters who aren't combiners suddenly being combiners.

That isn't even that difficult and they still fucked it up.
>>

UK anon reporting;
no sign of starscream yet, but we did just spot Tryticon, the Blaster/perceptor set, and the coneheads at the bigger TRUs, so there's hope.
>>
>>5278551
They released the most well known ones and gave extras.
>>
>>5278553
When stated like that, you are correct, but even the way they released them was fucked.
>>
>>5278555
Weird, yes. Not fucked up though. Some areas may have had shit luck, but not everyone. Thats not 100% hasbros fault. Also why shoot your load in one wave? It's smart to not give the whole team the first wave. Why they didn't keep up that thought process is beyond me though. I was able to get the deluxe protectobots in one short visit to wal Mart, but I know those who wanted superion had to wait which does suck, but that's marketing.
>>
>>5278566
I'm not convinced, They still botched it.
>>
>>5278551

They did so far, except with Defensor. He's the only one you can't get the original team for, until Takara releases a Deluxe Groove.
>>
>>5278570
Not really. Yeah it's a lot of repaints and retools, but they also had to create molds that had 4 forms and still have decent articulation features for at least 2 of those forms. That's just the deluxes. They can't really create something new for each character. That would be stupid. These are the best official Combiner figures we've ever had. Yeah there are some past gems, but they were great for their time. I sure as hell was excited for a large articulated Defensor.

>>5278576

The recent hasbro masterpiece if you want to keep cost down yet something impressive, check your TRU/toys R us.

The Japanese/Asia re-release is mp-11 an comes with better qc, cape and crown, the hasbro one (box says mp07, they use a different numbering system outside of japan) with some iffy bits here and there (I had to reassemble one of the hands and have to force apart the chest to transform him), this is the best for a large scale starscream in g1 flavor that is also recent.

If you want something smaller you'll be paying a bit too much for it regardless of the size and price, but I do have a sot spot for the deluxe scale, specifically the movie starscream f22 (though the jp release is cleaner) or pic related, universe starscream, there are triple packs with all 3 of the guys in one box set on ebay if you got the cash for the best g1 look, otherwise the classics/universe (universe pictured) or the henkei henkei japanese release (more gray than the classics pictured but has spiffy chrome missile launchers) could also work.

Similar for red alert as well, the masterpiece and universe red alert deluxe, I do admit I'm bias towards mp and universe but they don't have many lines that work for pure g1 aesthetics, otherwise you may need to hope other anons can give good input with other lines.

Here's the funny bit, I recommended that, but because as a kid I had no idea how these things were like a retard I bought the hasbro individual releases knowing full well 2 of the 6 will be out of place with the lot.

It fucking hurts, I can live with a henkei ramjet with my hasbro seekers, but I'm going to just get henkei skywarp and thundercracker with ghost starscream to give relevance to my hasbro starscream.
>>
>>5278776
I didn't actually start collecting classics til 2013, so they were the better option, as opposed to desperately hunting 6 henkei seekers on ebay for infinite money.

You could always sell off your old seekers and get the newer ones. Hell with the money you'd have from selling hasbro skywarp and henkei ramjet, you'd still have change left from one of the sets.
>>

They announced the running change for the chest with the first oficial photos of Bruticus, they are going from toy accurate to cartoon accurate, Brawl is going backwards from cartoon poop color to green toy accurate.

My issue would be the fact I'm attached to what I have.

>saw "acid storm"
>go autistic
>force parents to buy it
>months later
>see starscream
>same as before
>warned "that is the last transformer we'd ever buy"
>starscream became my teddy bear until my late teens

My starscream has a bit of green on him which I assume is from being stuffed too close to acidstorm in a toy box, but now that I dug him out (months ago to be honest) I do like his deco, I could clean him up later I guess...

I gunned down hasbro dirge and thrust months ago because I actually liked their deco in all honesty, I got them from mandarake and I can honestly live with miss matched coneheads because I like ramjet that much, having him stand out works.

I got mp starscream on hand so having a mini one in a similar deco is kinda meh, the current one works and a ghost one beside would prevent me from chasing up any other ghost starscreams.

And yeah I'm not touching ebay for loose/scalped bots, hell yahoo auctions has the henkei releases for $300 equivilant+ in some cases which is insanity yet mandarake its 9000yen, still much but I'm scanning for 6000-yen and lower.

I have money, and I have learnt to live with mis-matched decos, all because of these guys, well apart from hasbro skywarp which I'm not gonna bother looking for, ick.

That said my mp's will all be hasbro...if only because its cheaper than the takara seekers, damn that spiffy cape.
>>
>>5278776
>>5278787
unoe. The seekers don't have matching colors/decos in the first place.
>>
>>5278792
Sorta, the triple packs match them more coherently in g1 asthetics better than the henkei, while the hasbro fucks up on skywarp and ramjet.

The takara mp's would too if not for lack of silver on starscream, but the deco scheme matches for all current takara releases, acidstorm would never match sadly.

But this is just from what I've seen and my own opinion so take that with a pinch of salt.
>>
>>5277792
They look like absolute ass, don't kid yourself. I just don't like how hollow, boxy and uninteresting they look. Not to mention they all end up being the same retooled molds. I just have Magnus and Megatron and UW Devvy on pre-order.

Dark Crumplezone counts as a remold despite over half the parts being different than the original. I think it has to do with how they are manufactured instead of difference level.

Rook and swindle I can understand, pretty much the top half for swindle has been changed but still features the top peg for roller skate action, while the botmode aside from the head has minimal changes, with hound as the retool.

Honestly, Duocons could work if you just turned them into triple changers.

They already used the Springer mold for Battletrap, and the IDW's Flywheels was a triplechanger, and looked a lot like the new Blitzwing toy (the comic came before the toy was released).
>>
>>5278911
We've done that, "new" beast wars would still be an old concept given new tech.

I personally wouldn't mind something akin to amiiibo or skylanders...well better than the RiD shit at least
>>
>>5278938
Statues?
>>
>>5278869
I'd suggest ditching the shells altogether and integrating elements of the shell designs into the robots, a bit like how Thunderwing and Bludgeon did it.

So for example:

Skullgrin: Transforms from a horned, skull-headed Minotaur robot into a tank seemingly made out of flesh, bone and weapons.
Submarauder: Transforms from a chitinous, crustaceanoid robot into a horseshoe crab.
Thunderwing: The same as his current toy but bigger.
>>
>>5278946
Ah scrap, forget it, I honestly just realied what the fucking point of the RiD stickers were for and unlike amiibo or skylanders its shitty.

I wonder how that new lego one works out.

And no, not statues...though some nicely done SD stlye ones that had some non-hasbro quality to them would be nifty.

>>5278948
...biomechanical vehicle-formers!?

That's a metal sounding idea, I'd love to see that
>>
>>5278952
>...biomechanical vehicle-formers!?
Pretty much. In an ideal world they'd do it with Beast Wars level sculpting/paintwork (so minute sculpted asymmetrical detail, metallic paintwork and airbrushing out the wazoo). Of course it'd never happen with today's Hasbro so our best hope is that MakeToys or someone is reading this thread.
>>
>>5278948

We already got Skullgrin though...

I kind of hope they don't do Pretenders.

The way they have done it (the way you mentioned) is the best solution and its been done with some of the more interesting characters.

The Autobot Pretenders with their human face crap would just end up trash and goofy.
>>
>>5278948
>Thunderwing: The same as his current toy but bigger.

Just let them make IDW Thunderwing, with a Black Shadow retool.
>>
>>5278952
Nah man, don't give up on your idea. So what you mean is figures for a transformers game? That could work, each one could play differently.. yeah I like that idea, that's what those stupid RID stickers should be for. I don't often like those "toys to life" things, feels like a rip-off, but a articulated figure that unlocks a character in a game? sign me up.
>>
>>5278957
Indeed, but he lacks that monstrous, technorganic look that I'd like to see. That said, seeing as my dream Pretender update line is never happening in a million years I do kinda want to get that figure. He looks cool.
>>
>>5278881
>>5278908

What he said. You're dealing with quadruple changers who have to have an alt mode, a robot mode, and two different limb modes, and each limb mode HAS to fit very specific criteria for length and shape in order to keep scramble city style interchangability.

The reason for the line's use of remolds is that there are only so many ways they can come up with to make the gimmick work in a deluxe who's torso bulk has to be a very solid chunk of plastic with a large ratched combiner nipple clamped in the middle of it.

Spending money on the extensive reshelling of bots like Dead End/Streetwise and Rook/Swindle who's transformation works and they know it feels much more worthwhile than coming up with a new way to make the legs flip around, especially if they still have to spend money on new molds anyway to make it.

Fuck made a fuck huge post but lost it.

My basic idea was what RiD had already done, but with better quality transformers, that used something not too obtrisive that isn't a shitty sticker, in a PROPER game that wouldn't require buying transformers "just to play" (maybe a special colored optimus prime pack in).

What I seen from RiD's is a game designed for ADHD kids who bugged their folks into buying the latest ishits who have 0 attention span, I hate that gen.

Stylized statues would be nifty, but transformers with some decent quality to them would be better, I feel like I could crush this gold armor warrior class grimlock with my hand alone here

>>5278977
Take something like the new Devestation game, but make the DLC be branded bots.

Legends and/or Legions class figures with little bases with thier name and faction on it with the unlock chip inside. When the base is put into the reader it unlocks the figure AND thier unique weapons.

Most figures would just be reskins (kind of like how Devestation has a balanced one, a fast one, a techy one, etc) that give you new appearance options, but unlocking new unique weapons or items which give new attack patterns or abilities in game would be the main draw.

if you buy a set of certain figures(maybe all of thier based together would form a diorama when plugged in) it would unlock additional features ingame, like new stages or challenges.

Just a thought.

The reason the RID stickers suck so much is because they're big, ugly and obtrusive, especially on legion class toys, for some crap web content that will probably no longer be accessible 2 years from now.

The Scout mold for Windcharger and Wipe Out are great. I've got a bunch of stuff still packed away till I finish renovating my display room or I'd put him up with Tailgate, but here's CW Blackjack for a side by side.

Arcee I really like too. I have the FE Arcee, so I never really felt like getting the PRiD mold, but the Beast Hunters/GO! reold has enough interesting cues to it make me want to check it out, and the Colours on this one are much better than Hasbro's deco.

Ravage was an impuse buy. I know he got an eventual US release in this colour and I could find it cheaper on ebay most likely, but having the Takara and orignal package was too good to pass up considering I got him for like $15.

I thought about that as a posibility... Hell, just reuse the CW combiner port(it's a pretty sturdy joint, and it would give them a waist joint without having to hinder other transformation aspects.

Heck, if you tool them right, you could make them into Powerup limbs for CW too. (Imagine a Duocon who can also become a giant blaster arm and melee claw for a CW combiner for crossline play)

There's only really been the Classics Starscream mold for Deluxe-sized CHUG Seekers. The only other Seekers in the Deluxe class are the DOTM, FOC, and Prime molds, which are probably not what you want.

If you don't like the Classics mold, or find the prices on it too much for you, I suggest either waiting for the next time they make a mold, or downsizing and picking up the Legends/Commander class Seekers from T30 and CW.

> Double spacing between paragraphs is bad.

It helps with readability.

You are probably one of those types that will type out a 500 word paragraph with to spacing or capital letters or punctuation.

You mentioned originally "this isn't school". You do realize the point of school is to learn skills that make your life easier and make you look less like an idiot right?
>>
>>5279177

What kind of scrolling are you doing that would be slowed down by extra spaces?

If you're just reading the thread as normal, your scrolling speed would be affected by your reading speed.

If you're searching for a particular post, it's more convenient to use word search (CTRL + F).

If you want to get to one end of the page from the other, there are Top/Bottom links handy.

Oh, and it might come with the same issues Hot Spot did: Knee's untabbing in combiner mode, chestplate untabbing. Both minor issues (you can fix it literally just by tabbing them back in which is easy) but a little annoying if they aren't fixed for Bruticus.

Starscream was the first one to be released, so he is harder to find, so demand is high, supply is low. That's how that works.

Thundercracker is slightly newer, but still relatively old for an action figure.

Skywarp is new, and this is the first time in a very long time they've released a set of all three of the original seekers in the same scale of the same mold, at the same time without one or more of them being exclusive in some way, which brings up all of their prices as a whole.

So yeah, there's your answers. It'll take a better Starscream mold being released with at least one repaint before the prices of the other ones even begin to drop in price again.

I thought that was what he called himself, Spada the Baltmatrix or what the fuck ever... I've only ever heard him say it on the videos, never seen it written so I might be fucking it up.

>>5280442
Him and Optibotimus kind of run together in my mind as a mush-mouthed, ham fisted pair, so I may be misremembering who does it, but I'm pretty sure it's Baltmatrix who does something I can't fucking stand in his reviews.

He'll fuck up a line, maybe flub it, maybe forget what to say, whatever. Then he'll stop, kind of grunt or sigh, and then start over.

I don't expect perfection, especially in one take, but seriously, he'll fucking do it two, three, FOUR times in a row. In a ROW. Goddamn it, ether learn to improvise and keep the take rolling or CUT YOUR GODDAMN OUTTAKES. It's infuriating. There's no sense of professionalism or respect for the work in that kind of behaviour.

Here's what I like about his reviews. He doesn't always give positive reviews, his camera is great, he speaks clearly, and you get a good look.

I will not deny that his editing can be a bit off sometimes. Its like "why do a cut to your next part, but not start it after your second fumbled attempts to start the next part?"

I think I'm appreciative of the fact that he reviews the odd knock offs that look awesome, but may not be worth it. It's hard to find those reviews for things like that.

Much better than peaugh or shartimus.

This whole janitor not letting the TFGs die and causing clutter makes everyone afraid to make a new thread since this one is autosaging huh?
>>
>>5280518
Someone should go and shitpost very lightly to make them start saging once and for all.
I lost the not-Votom thread just when I was getting interested in it because of that and the SPACE OPERA SPACE OPERA spam bullshit

LOL remember when Emgo made a video freaking out because people called him a shill?

That was funny and kinda sad for everybody including him, especially him for taking that bait.
>>
>>5280526
I didn't even watch past the point where he says he's showing us his face so we know he's for realz telling the truth. I don't want to look at his face for an hour.

What the hell did he even talk about for that long? Any defense against shill claims can be said in two minutes. The way he drags out his reviews, and now this, I really can't feel sorry for him.
>>
>>5280548

Here, have the new thread since this one is autosaging.
>>
>>5280378
That has absolutely nothing with what we're talking about. Someone (possibly you?) asked about articulation. Many reviews can show you that articulation. They aren't going to modify the fuckng toy or put in special effects to make it look like it can articulate more that it actually can.

Get real.

I'm at the point where everything out on the general shelves I have. Once it gets to that point your hunt dies.

Hardly. Both are equally bad in my area. TRU isn't much better.
