>CREATE A VIPER to fend off the Cylons! Create a spaceship that fits the theme of a minifigure of your choice resembling the classic ship from Battlestar Galactica. Extra points for creative SNOT usage.
>CREATE A CASTLE FACTION to help repel the forces of evil. Give a description of where in the kingdom they come from. Create a uniform, a little back story, what about a mascot animal/item? Extra points for creating an emblem/standard.

>inb4 those grey speckled bricks are faux lego I know i know shhhh
>>4535155
not bad at all,
>>4535155
I just thought they were old dirty bricks. You could have fooled me. Ash looks pretty cool, but it looks like his torso has boobs. Am I crazy?
>>4535162
No, you are correct. Maybe I'll see what else I have that I can use.
>>4535162
I think they're meant to be shirt folds but now that you mention it they look more like tits to me.
>>4535155
Knowing the attrocities Lago has made in the last five years, fake bricks wont shock me.
Pretty good, the only thing it would seem to miss is posing.
>>4535162
dem be tiddies alright
>>4535166
Don't limit yourself to just what you have. I'm sure Bricklink has a few options. Most torsos can be found cheap.
Just be careful or you will be hooked if you aren't already.
You know it's Christmas time when China is pumping these out, and the Smurfs from the last thread within the last week alone.
That back hatch... Is it engine access, or is it cargo?
Lego Quest is up if anyone wants to play:

>>4535172
The skeleton arms aren't really posable at all unfortunately
I layed low on Legos for some years, and now I see this.
Now I'm unsure if we had buckets before. We did, right?
>>4535182
The engine IS the cargo!
I have the coolest mom. she stopped by the other day and gave me a handful of mixels (series 2) because the other day they were on for a dollar at Walmart. Anyways I decided to make a powerloader, how do you all like itÉ
>>4535155
>skeleton with yellow hands
>ash with titties
however
>ice planet chainsaw
I'll give it a 6.5/10
>>4535187
It's a bit new.
>>4535173
Didn't know LEGO made tranny minifigures.
>>4535190

heres a better look at the figures, I'm mostly happy with them, and I know I have those grey bits in black but I can find them for the time being
>>4535195
The xenomorph looks pretty good, that white stud even makes him look angry.
Ask someone who sells lego for a living anything?
>>4535197
Will you give me free Lego?
It was worth a shot and you said ANYTHING.
>>4535197
Why do it?
What do you do with the old sets?
>>4535187
Just look up the set on BrickLink and view the inventory:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=21113-1
Then find the bucket (infuriatingly listed as "container" which made this really hard to find when I searched for "bucket"):
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=95343
Then look at all the sets it's been in:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=95343&in=S
Looks like it's a mold from 2011.
>>4535196

Are you american?
Aren´t there better way to make money?
>>4535218
With your luck, it's Mr. Gold.
>>4535225
>Better ways to earn money in America
You'd think so, but no, there's absolutely no ways to make money in America that aren't absolutely fucking miserable.
>>4535225
It's actually a decent way to make money. The price usually increases over time. I read this article about how people were stealing large amounts of Lego and selling their ill gotten gains for hundreds of thousands.
>>4535229
>now they're getting reamed by "Big Earl"
Top career choice m8
>>4535227
Haha, I wish. It was a Mechanic. I already have the whole series (and Mr. Gold!), so I'll probably donate him.
>>4535239
You lucky bastard.
>>4535182
I have 2 of these. A lot bigger and heavier than I anticipated. In my opinion, well worth the money. And yes it is cargo, you keep a blaster and binoculars in their. But hey. It's what you want it too be bro!
>>4535210
I'd suggest a silver stud for accuracy's sake though. Otherwise, top notch moc.
>>4535239

>>4535197
What is your main demographic ?
>>4535260
not you, you green cube fuckface
>>4535252
I was mostly curious because I have this fixation with engines in my Lego sets. Whenever I build a Lego car and it has a hidden away odd looking block where the engine would be, I can't help but giggle to myself and consider it the "Engine block"
In the same way, I'm deeply amused by the removable engine/reactor behind the pilot.
>>4535190
But that one is supposed to be evil Ash who is still pretty fleshy
>>4535277
>In the same way, I'm deeply amused by the removable engine/reactor behind the pilot.
...of the A-Wing, I mean. God damn it, brain.
>>4535277
>I'm deeply amused by the removable engine/reactor behind the pilot
Wait, that's the engine? I always thought it was supposed to be a removable turret.
>>4535285
From the Lego.com description:
>A-wing Starfighter features 4 flick missiles, opening cockpit and removable engine
Made another mecha lady.
>>4535290

Also, those white 1x6 slips on her front are supposed to be the strings to her hoodie. I was originally going to use chains, but I decided against it.
>>4535316

what next?
>>4535361
Beautiful
>>4535361
Gorgeous, but won't the thruster take out the bottom fin when it fires up?
>>4535372
It's like a submarine (spacemarine? oh wait), the rudder works best in the thruster flow.
Gah, this started as a Vic Viper, but now I really want to remove the upper fin for dat submarine look.
>>4535155

The facades aren't as ornate as i would like and the bottom floor of the left building looks a bit boring (apart from the cornices with crazy pieces and that sweet decorative balljoint usage). But what i love about it is how it really feels like a small street on its own already. The small castiron balconies in between the two and the length/width contrast is really cozy.
I'm hoping they also add some open windows and emergency stairs in the back for some rear window action.

Is nobody here into technic ? or is there some kind of circle-jerk taboo on the subject ?
>>4535487
Nah it's fine, but most people here are just good enough for things that look cool, and that's it.
>>4535490
That's a pretty sane behaviour...
>>4535487
Most common are just general system MOCs and Creator. Everything else has to be mentioned specifically.
I would help you but I don´t like Technic, the many gaps and holes aren´t really my thing.
>>4535487
I really, really, really like Technic, but I never got to own many.
But this piece over here blew my mind.
>>4535495
Well if ya wanna talk Technic then:
-Chima Lion's arches that make the backs of his legs can be used to make this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChJGfMhJmHE
Also transforming bench/table.
>>4535487
I ended up being gifted a big bag of Technic pieces that I use for background, and I use them as frames outside the edges of scenes to hold stuff up in the air.

So I built the First Night set, one of the new Minecraft sets, today. I think this could be the most comfiest set of the year, just by the interior alone. I don't even play this game.
>>4535681
>>4535679
Try making the upper hips flaps of some sort so you can hinge them flush into the legs in most poses? That gap is pretty fugly.
Rest of the torso is great, though.

I WANT TO SEE THE PIG. SHOW US THE PIG.
>>4535682
Damn, I like the looks of that. I've been eying the MC sets for awhile and that picture might get me to grab one of 'em.
>>4535682
I have to admit I like these, its like a brick box but with more natural colors.
>>4535687
I had that before, I editted out the flaps since they were very skirt looking and I thought I would go for accuracy over anything else.
Though if that's what you want, I guess I'll roll it back a bit.

I don't blame you. The piggy is so cute!

>>4535702
Here's the interior. I'm a dumbass so I took a picture without the mounted wooden pickaxe, which looks really cool there. I can't retake it since I'm out of my photo studio. Sorry /lg/.
>>4535668
>>4535681
>>4535648
the mistake you guys are making is thinking of system, technic, and bionicle/HF as seperate entities. They're all Lego and I use them interchangeably in my MOCs
>>4535679
I'm the guy who made the request and all I have to say is, DAMN.
>>4535687
And what this guy said.
>>4535703
How do the creeper legs work? Are they on a hinge?
>>4535708
They are solid like most 4 legged lego animals.
>>4535706
>bionicle is the same as hf
your opinion is wrong
>>4535708
Nah, they're all one mould. This was a picture I took of that from the biggest set, The Mine: >>4528391
Here's a better look at the front for this one.
>>4535712
Strictly as parts, as the ingredients to MOCs they are all compatible with eachother. That's not an opinion, it's a fact. The lore and themes of constraction sets is a whole different can of worms.
>>4535720
The lore is what makes bionicle good and hf a terrible idea.
>>4535715
Last up, here's the equipment from the set. All wooden, and in this color, they're all exclusive. Heck, the axe is an exclusive piece/mould that only comes in this set.
>>4535722
and you're entitled to that opinion although I mostly agree. I feel that Bionicle became too large and convoluted for its own good near the end. I'm glad the new series is a reboot.
>>4535724
I wish they used regular lego parts
>>4535726
make a power miners moenicle
>>4535706
>>4535726
>Rock Raiders and hero factory
>>4535728
That could've worked. The "blocky" minecraft feel is a little inconsistent for some parts, like Steve's arms. I wouldn't mind getting our first brown pickaxe.
>>4535729
I don't know. All the lime and orange would be a bit gaudy and I'm not as attached to Power Miners as Rock Raiders. I do have a ton of lime left over from Zethra but I also several things Im working on.
>>4535733
mojang is terrible

If he likes minecraft, good chance he'll like it, if he doesn't care that much about minecraft... lot less chances.
In any case, take two different sets, if he doesn't like it, you can still have it for yourself.
>>4535767
Does your brother like Minecraft? I think any kid who plays and enjoys Minecraft will love these. If he doesn't, I dunno. If he likes building MOCs, I'm sure he'd either like the builds or make his own cool creation from it.
The Mine in my opinion is worth it. The sucker is HUGE, and it's one of those sets that is really fun to play with and build. As a display piece, I guess it's not the best if you don't have any other sets. I put pictures of it here: >>4528375
>>4535772
Nah, he's a minecraft kid. Actually he likes it more than I do.

>Hey guys, TRUfag here.
>The street date for the Rocket Raccoon polybag (as far as I know, this is nation wide for Toys "R" Us) was today. We had them for sale for $4.99 in the same place we usually stock the other polybags. I'm the manager in the area with the LEGOs, so I took the initiative to take them off the floor because of neckbeard scalper faggots buying twenty at a time. Apparently the exact distribution is up to the regional higher-ups, but the official date when the figure was allowed to start being distributed was today.

>>4535978
As a manager, I'd be fine with that. The scalping incident that instigated me taking them off the floor was one particularly neckbeardy neckbeard that bought every one we had on the floor at the time (something like 25). As long as you're not being THAT guy, you should be fine.

>>4535190
I like how you have movable limbs on yours. Looks breddy good
I've been trying to make a minifig scale powered exoskeleton that holds a whole fig (becuase slapping a minifig head on a robot body feels wrong and feels like a copout) But I had to sacrifice articulation to keep the size small as possible. Anyone have tips to make it more articulated/make the harness look better? I'm not satisfied with this
>>4535756
I can't find a screenshot of it right now but I'm pretty sure there is a boss exactly like this (double train with a huge cannon) in one of the DoDonPachi games.
>>4536192
I'm not sure if it'll work with your design, but have you tried the mini balljoints from the Chima Legend Beasts? They're pretty compact little things.
>>4536205
Yeah they add too much length. The proportions of what I have right now are perfect but the fact that it has no articulation is killing me. The stuff I make always has functionality in them and this is sorely lacking in that department
>>4536207
>Yeah they add too much length.
You could always...cut them.
>>4536214
NO MR BURNS NO
NOT THE PUPPIES
Is there someone, that could help me out with a Rocket Raccoon?
I am from Holland, and we don't even have a official TRU so I think that there is no change at all to obtain this.
I would be happy, to pay for the mail and other expenses. I would rather give a /toy/soldier some money, then a ebay scalper.
have to make time for sorting!
>>4536338
Where's her little kid? That one was fuckin cute.
>>4536346
she's around still, I have some structural upgrades/changes in mind for her too
>>4536094
What about hiding them?
>ask for the TЯU exclusive Rocket Racoon!
Oh boy.
I also work as a manager in a TRU. We've gotten the Rocket Raccoons but I've told my employees to keep them to one per customer, since they're prime bait for reselling scum
So I get a call from the register. I walk there and there's this fat, balding 40-yo something guy that literally has every single Rocket Racoon we had out in the store on the counter, he wanted to buy all of them. I got the call because the girl simply stated that there's a one per customer local store policy and this guy got mad and pulled out his phone and started looking at the TRU site because "he was sure it didn't say so on the webpage"
I told him that we can do what we want, especially with "promo"-stuff like the polybags (half-truth, we can't really do it but if he'd phone them I could simply pull some crap about how we don't have many and I want as many kids to get one to get HQ approval)
He kept raving about how he had been at 3 others TRU (probably bullshit) and how he could buy as many as he wanted there and that they even pulled out more from the back for him at one (definitively bullshit) and by now there's been a small line behind him so I just say
"Gee mister, do you really need that many toys? You know these are intended for children and that's we have a limit of one per customer" and I hear someone snicker in the line
He almost throws the money at the poor girl in the register, grabs his one Rocket and walks away

I applaud your work in keeping lego available to all and for putting those reselling cunts in their place
People living in western EU or the US are lucky. I recently started selling Lego in my home country of Bulgaria and the retail prices of Lego are crazy. Here's an example 60052 train set costs around 250 Euro I can buy it at 133 Euro from a Austrian toy shop and by the time I get the cost is around 137 Euro depending on shipping. I can sell it around 180 Euro for a good 30% profit. I don't understand how Lego can be so expensive in a country with a 400 Euro avg salary.
>>4536552
Isn't everything besides food and drink stupidly expensive there, though? Last time I visited my Dad in Veliko Tarnovo, I was getting drunk on grozdova every day for the equivalent of 4 bongdollars.
That said, I was trying to convince the Old Man to buy a Sopwith Camel from a Bricklink seller in Popovo for the equivalent of £90, which isn't actually too bad.
>>4536491
Not him but I barely consider that scalping. If you're gonna use the parts, cool, if you're gonna resell close to MSRP, that's nice.
>>4536491
I'd be totally cool with it. Like other anons here I agree that there's a difference between scalping and reselling.
I myself resell stuff to fuel my LEGO interest, mainly I buy clearanced stuff on atleast 50 % and then sell it for slightly under MSRP. Nets a nice profit.
However scalpers buy everyone of a certain item then sells it for way too high prices. Also, I don't wanna be judgemental but it feels that I've kinda learned to spot a reseller. It seems that they're either a fat, balding guy or one of those lanky guys with shitty beards.

I'm assuming you're referring to their small percentage of frog DNA, and I fail to see how that would remove their feathers. It would only do that if the sequence for their feathers was one of the ones missing, it's not as if frog DNA overwrites any host DNA having to do with feathers. They're not inherently incompatible.

Like a few other anons here, I've never been too keen on the tendency for Technic models to have large gaps, though I understand that imagination is key to "fill" those gaps in your mind. It just does bad things for my aesthetic sense (AKA OCD) to the point where I've even passed over buying large Creator sets where something such as a windscreen has been represented by an empty frame. Many models with steering also have a problem with fuckhuge wheelarches, because the size limitation of available parts means that the pivot point is way outside the centreline of the hub, resulting in some forward / backward movement of the entire wheel.
Pic related is a work in progress for a steering system that works in tight spaces. Although it works great in principle, it's limited to vehicles that are 18-20 studs wide, and the moving parts flex so much that they actually rub against the TOP of the wheelarches. The weird dimensions of Technic beams (liftarms) means I can't easily use some other parts to seamlessly brace them from above. The rear wheels also need to steer because the turning circle would otherwise be crap, so I'm gonna have to burn all this and find another way if I'm going to go with my plan to rig this with Power Functions.
For some builders, finding solutions to stuff like this might be so annoying as to get in the way of actually enjoying building, and must admit that I've gotten pissed of quite a few times, only to end up with something that is full of problems. But I'm determined to make this my bitch because I know I can come up with a solution. Eventually.
tl;dr: Technic is fucking hard work.
>>4537380
>tl;dr: Technic is fucking hard work.
That's why it's only for ages 12 and up.
>>4537406
Sure, that's a guideline for the sets and boxed accessories, though. I'm hitting dead ends because I'm looking for solutions that TLG designers either cannot or don't need to find. I personally enjoy messing about with Technic bits (as I have done since the days before beams revolutionised the approach to building). The tl;dr was just me trying to understand why people might prefer a streamlined building experience as opposed to trying to solve engineering problems. I am in no way trying to imply anything negative about builders who don't bother with Technic.
The crazy part is, I only want to make all this >>4537380 work so that I can build a motorised Model Team sort of thing.
I have few questions about Bricklink. If I put 50 items on my wanted list, then order, say, 20, from one store, does it automatically turn the amout on my wanted list to 30 or do I have to do it manually?
Second, is there any way for it to show a store that has as many things from the list in stock as possible?
>>4537380
The holes are to be covered with other stuff, there are plenty of pieces allowing you to place regular blocks on top of it.
(pic related, my favorite.)
As for the technical problems, good luck with that...

>>4537439
Unfortunately, it doesn't auto-deduct what you've bought from wantlists. There's a way to do it manually, but I can't get on BL right now to find the exact options. Near the top of your orders list, there'll be a link or a tab where you can configure which icons show up in each row of your orders. One of them places a little scroll which will show you the items from each order which appear on your wantlists (I think there's also a listbox on that page to choose specific wantlists, otherwise it's global).
The quantity box there will still show what you originally put in, even if you bought a different amount from the store, so it's a good idea to open the order details in a different tab to compare. It's also useful for moving stuff into a "pending delivery" wantlist - in case there are missing parts or somesuch - to save the bother of adding everything again.
>>4537440
>>4537450
>>4537457
Yeah, the gap is roughly half of what an angle bracket would fill - more like the thickness of one of those rocking plates for the old hinge bricks. I'm gonna bust out all the bits and build it again to see if I get an epiphany. I need to build a treadmill anyway for some fun with differentials.
