Don't mind me, just testing out my new photo tent.
Wow, that kinda looks like ass, don't it?
That's a little better, but the colors still kind of seem washed out.
HDR was a mistake.
There bigger mistake was probably photographing miniatures on a cell phone, though.
Well, learn by doing. Next time will be better. Maybe.
I remember the Legoquest guy had a pretty decent tutorial on how he lit and photographed miniatures. Well, in his case, shiny lego pieces.
These look great OP, mind sharing how you made the tent/how it looks?
also amazing dreadnoughts by the way

LIGHTING BOOTH YOU ORANGUTAN

Ironclads can take a hurricane bolter in place of their standard close combat arm
>>55424340
I think I've got the lighting arranged appropriately; two spots from the sides, two in the front angled up against the reflector. The deficiency is probably in my camera. I've got an old point-and-shoot I'll try, next, the cell phone just happened to be convenient.

Just bought it on Amazon. I'd had decent results on one I made from some printer paper and a cardboard box (legal size for the backdrop, letter for the sides and top) and thought that it was worth getting something a little bit more durable for larger pictures. This one's a 24" cube, so you can fit a whole Realm of Battle tile in it for diorama shots.

What do you call light globes? Luminous spheres?
>>55424393
Facsimile cottage.
>>55424421
Forge World's Ironclad Dreadnought was a goddamn treasure and I am still angry that they discontinued the hurricane bolter.

Looks like you have some DOF going on. Back guys look blurry, especially their arms. Front guys look A+
Fuckin' sweet models too

Photos came out too dark with HDR disabled so here are a couple with direct light on the figures.
I just really need something capable of white balancing, I think.
>>55424733
They sell these weird fucking things for white balancing. It's like a greyish white plate you hold in front of the camera to let it focus, then remove it and take your shot. Some of them look like shit you would see on movie sets.
>>55424733
See if you can add a diffuse light behind the model to fill in shadows without casting more in front
