should i get into chess? it seems kinda lame having the computer help you come up with ideas. i like to think about things myself. is it just not the game for me if i think in such a way?

try Go

It's a crap opening. Only time I ever beat an IM was one who decided a budapest gambit was good enough against a mere 2000 player. Just give the pawn back (d4, Nf6, c4, e5, dxe5, Ng4, e4, Nxe5, f4) and you're easily ahead.

i've always really liked Go, and i got into it a bit before, but Go is soon to be dominated by computers aswell, changing the way the game is played entirely probably, just like chess. plus it's harder to find people to play go with than chess. i suppose this sort of thing is just inevitable though. thanks for the suggestion.
