Whooo Whoooo here comes the railroad.
Sometimes I feel im the only one who wants to be on a railroad. I really want a tightly compact game with an interesting story.
I been in lots of games where the world is open and you can go anywhere and do anything.
But the older I get the more I want to just get in a get on with it. I want set pieces , I want three henchman that stand in the way before the fight with the boss.
I want 4 gems of light that are in themed dungeons .
I want to be able to do anything I want along the way but I want a set end goal

You either GM the game you want to play in
Or play in games you couldn't possibly want
>confusing railroading with good storytelling

Aces and 8's

That's not a railroad, that's just a normal game.
Remember, a railroad only has one path. A normal branching path still has you aiming towards a destination, but you can take any number of different roads to get there.
What's better, /tg/? A poorly fleshed out open world to explore on the way to the end-goal, or the illusion of choice whilst riding a very well-presented and constructed railroad?

second, absolutely. As long as I don't know it's a railroad.
