How would /tg/ write a PC who's main goal is revenge?

Nowadays? Badly.

Some lass from a successful merchant family who is in way over her head. Got her hands on a dead warlock's spellbook by accident when a scuffle broke out in the market. A dozen days pass by only to be contacted by the dead warlock's eldrich patron in the dead of night who declares her as it's new partner by the right of spellbook ownership and procides to mark her neck with contractual runes. She flees home the next morning and hits the road (meeting up with the other PCs a bit after that ) trying to find a means of removing the conection or killing the patron itself.
Scream "REVENGE!" everytime you get into a fight.

The character would need some sort of power base that makes the prospect of revenge seem attainable, otherwise they'd just sink into despair. Whether this is from raw capital, political knowhow, or physical ability doesn't matter but they have to have an avenue of attack at their target.
Besides that it mostly depends on the character in particular. A knight won't pursue an insult of his honor the same way a space age merc would come down on a double-crossing employer.
