Which style would be more prevalent among each race?
elves would definitely say it's to "bend" a bow, rather than to "draw" one

The main reason to switch is that the string of a short bow is going to fucking destroy your fingers if you don't use a mongolian draw.

That's what the gloves are for.

Why would you ever do anything other than the Mediterranean draw?
>Using your thumb when you could be using three fingers
>Straining your hand/wrist when it's not neccessary
>>55368895
Because that doesn't fucking work with a longbow, you cunt.

>Why would you ever do anything other than the Mediterranean draw?
More finger on the string = more chance to fuck up the release.
Mongolian draw also allows the arrow to be pinched naturally between thumb and index finger, so there's less chance for the arrow to fall off, especially when you are on horseback.
If the archer is just gonna stand there and shoot (while being shot at), then Mediterranean draw serves him just fine. If the archer is riding a horse or doing some ambush and ranger-ing shit, then Mongolian draw can serve him better.
>doesn't fucking work with a longbow
The fuck?
All three draws work with any types of bow. Provided you know what you are doing.

Glove works, but it kind of makes your fingers less sensitive to the touch, which may affect clean release. Intense training helps though.

Pretty sure Pinch wouldn't work with a strong draw weight bow
>>55366642
Smaller races would almost certainly prefer pinch grips, since their draw weights will likely be lower due to smaller bow size, but their strength is proportionally much higher for their height (halflings have near human strength in the size of an 8 year old in D&D, for instance.)
Pinch grip is great for release, but horribly easy to screw up.

Uh, I missed that one. Yeah, you are right.
