I need your best traumas for coming up with powers in a game

I need your best traumas for coming up with powers in a game of Weaverdice.

Requisites of the trauma usually have the character being a loner or with no one dependable for help. To lead to powers, their Trigger Event, they would have to be pushed to a corner they don't want to be in with no feasible way of escape.

You got caught up in failing protest movement and devote yourself to the mission of whatever it is they support. You yourself go out of your way to be at all the rallies and protests whenever you could spare the time and even when you can't. The social issue itself strike a chord with you and it's your duty as an "X" to be heard. There's something different about the latest rally though, and the air is hostile on both sides of the picket line. Before anyone had knew it, a riot had broken out and your meager group was outnumbered 100 to 1\
your side is then driven to a nearby hotel building. The police are woefully unprepared to handle to larger mob. You realize that you're building is being lit on fire.

Well, since there's not enough personal information about the character, then it could be hard to pinpoint. The building be lit on fire of could be a Shaker ability if the fire is closing in or even a Mover ability if the character feels absolutely trapped. Maybe even Master depending on how personal the cause they're fighting for is.

How about this. A character has to have 2 personal struggles (recently deceased love one, inner struggle or race/identity, etc.) before their trigger event to drive the impact of it.

You always had a lead foot. You were driving down the interstate at over 90MPH, weaving in and out of traffic like a lunatic, nowhere in particular you had to be but you were having the time of your life racing through cars of these dumb normal people.

You careen off through some construction barriers onto a section of highway that wasn't supposed to be available to the public yet. It's one of those flyovers connecting one highway to another, except it's only half-done. You're barrelling ahead and the road simply ends, hundreds of feet above the ground with no way to stop in time...and it really revs you up.

I'm a BSA climbing instructor, and was teaching the merit badge. I was on my 37 foot rappel/climb/zip-line tower and was coaxing a child with a fear of heights to start a rappel.

for the teaching this means the scout has to attach himself to the system, back up to the edge, and lean backwards until horizontal.

he made it 4 feet down the wall before he freaked out and let go of the free end of the rope and went for an almost 30 foot uncontrolled plummet before the belayer caught them(cause they were NOT doing their job correctly the dick-brain)

the screaming was impressive on that small a child

If they regretted going at those speeds, barreling towards death into a pitfall, I guess he could have a major Mover/Shaker with emphasis on Speed/Time, Close in Areas(inside a car) vs Large Areas (giant pitfall).

I may be off base but an ability that can slow down large objects but they're immovable, always set on their original course. The irony in the power being that the character will still collide in the car with the same force but the momentum is moving at a glacier pace. I'm gonna assume that they survived the crash with terrible wounds or their window was open and fell still at a long but less life threatening fall.

I think I read this wrong, but did the instructor AND the child fell? If so, the child was definitely in a Shaker situation. But, it could also have some bi-layers of Master if he felt he was dropped (isolated) from their instructor and Thinker/Tinker if the child had been contemplating this moment for a while

nah. I stayed up top. I have to, to be sure they attach the Rappel correctly. I'm teathered at least twice to safety systems

the Belayer is a man on the ground who can stop the fall...if he is PAYING THE FUCK ATTENTION(which he wasnt, allowing the kid to fall so far)

and I tend to get a lot of faith out of my students cause the kid DID start the rappel.

some of the kids stay up the tower a while to see another take the rappel...THIS IS A MISTAKE cause it makes them more fearful. kid didn't do that but he did have all of a 37 foot (5.9) climb to think about it though

I have yet to really chew through the weaver-dice rules but I can give you some hearsay.

So when the kid was falling, he probably didn't expect to still be in safety, but was in a freefall towards a 33 ft. drop. But, no offense to you, this could be seen as a way of rapid isolation and a distrust to someone saying that the process will go fine if he followed the instruction, Still, a Master classification could be minor to the Shaker powers he would get.

Sorry. What I meant by contemplating is by a LONG period of time. Tinkers worry about one constant problem that has no answer they can come up with until after the Trigger Event, and by that time they've missed it. And Thinkers are more or less the same, except emotional and mental strain in a short period of time. What do you thin the kid has?

I want to delve into the WeaverDice system, but the power process is right there and I know other systems to apply it to.

I'm thinking with the free-fall creating a Shaker and the sense of "betrayal" forming the minor Master power, he could place "fields" wherever he pleases. In these areas he can control the balance and motions of everything inside of them. If a person were to step inside the field, they'll be at the whim of the kid. Its slower than inanimate objects, but they'll still be stuck until the child moves the field.

What saves the game is the character creation part which is great enough to be worth stealing for other capeshit systems (easy to carry over aswell).
The rest of Weaver Dice isn't even that bad in my opinion but why play some WIP homebrew when there are better options easily available.
