>Regeneration and extremely high pain tolerance quirk.

Could you build a superhero Career on that? (Boku no Hero Academia setting)
>>
No.
>>
why the hell not that one guy rips grapes off his head until he bleeds out
>>
Deadpool and Wolverine did. Just get some guns or knives or your mad scientist friend to make you a laser gun and you're good to go.

I'm thinking of those two super-regenerating brothers in The Boys who defeat an advanced, automated, turret-and-explosive-based defense system by literally just walking toward it and getting back up every time they got shredded/exploded/decapitated.
>>
>>55327959
>Super fast regeneration
Don't forget to roleplay endless shedding of skin and needing to cut your hair/nails everyday.
>>
>>55328176

Healing factors are baller as fuck don't lame them up.
>>

Would also be interesting if the super-healing didn't come with some form of telomeric longevity, meaning that the person would also age much faster.

Besides that, though;
-Huge appetite. Your metabolism needs to be crazy fast if your cells are that active. Your stomach doesn't scale up, so you'll still get full at the same point. You'll just need to be eating constantly so that your body doesn't devour itself.
-You're screwed if you ever get cancer.
-Cancer rate probably goes up, unless your factor somehow ensures accurate DNA synthesis during cell division.
-You'd probably save more lives by repeatedly cutting out part of your liver to donate to people in need. (Unless you're a save-the-world-level hero)

>You're screwed if you ever get cancer.
Go tell that to Deadpool
>>
>>55327959
I would think so. You need even more combat training than the people with flashy powers, but the ability to shrug off one attack after another would certainly be useful.
>>
>>55328362
Depends on how exactly you flavor the healing factor. Clearly Deadpool has something more advanced than "healing is faster" which would translate to faster cellular division cycles and thus accelerated cancer. I'm pretty sure we also see healing factors push out lodged bullets, where more likely they'd be trapped inside the healed tissue.
>>
>>55327959
Kick ass did it with just the pain tolerance part.

This is a very common set of gifts between many heroes from several different genres.
>>
>>55328362
I was thinking it used to be that deadpool's whole body was basically cancer. His healing factor instead of curing it sort of had it spread and become him. That is why his appearance is so fucked compared to wolverine.
>>
>>55327959
You'd be a pretty good ragdoll hero. But probably R-rated. But pain tolerance can help with a lot of amazing feats. A lot of the times a psychological response based on feeling pain prevents people from doing things even if they're able to. You could just completely bypass that.

Regeneration can also help with being a human shield. You'd also be an amazing first responder at a disaster site, if say you had 0- blood that you could transfuse to a lot of people.

Thats probably the most common superpower amongst cape comics, if you want another hero other than wolvering/deadpool theres Painkiller Jane who also regenerates stuff fast.
>>
>>55328538
This is basically the canon, as far as I understand it. The issue is that accelerated healing wouldn't prevent the cancer from killing you; you're going to end up with tumors places there aren't supposed to tumors, which aren't wounds to be "healed". As said in >>55328488 Deadpool seems to have something more complicated going on than simply accelerated healing.

>>55328651
>good ragdoll hero
Reminds me of the manga Aphorism, where one of the characters gets the ability to auto-revive after being killed, his body returning to mint condition after a delay. As a result, the rest of the cast liked to use him as a test dummy against unknown threats, as he'd always just come back. He did not like this role.

>"healing is faster" which would translate to faster cellular division cycles
>Deadpool/Wolverine's healing factor is clearly something different.
It's not just the cancer that makes it obviously not faster division cycles, but the fact that he and wolverine both don't age, while accelerated division cycles would mean FASTER aging (burn twice as bright, half as long kind of hero)

Instead, it might be something as simple as the cells themselves having the ability to actually, quite literally, repair themselves, and return to a pre-set state that's determined by the cells around it, sort of like all of their cells were able to function like stem-cells but only actually replicating when there are cells missing. This would both explain why they don't age (as only losing actual body parts would force them to ever cell-divide) and why they're able to regrow whole body parts (because all their cells can act like stem-cells, taking on the form needed of them based on the surrounding cells.)

GRANTED, this would also mean that they would serve humanity infinitely better simply being held in a lab and harvested for stem-cells.... hell, maybe that's what they were doing with Deadpool before he broke out...
>>
>>55327959
You'd probably need something to be equal to the others (weapons, gear, super crack, something) to be among the attacking class, unless there's a support division. You'd make the support class easy with those abilities.

If you're playing muties as the game for the setting, don't forget that you can change what your Quirk is, as long as what you change it to fits your current power set (generating water -> condensing moisture in the air into water) so instead of regeneration, you could have creation/generation of body parts, or flesh reshaping or something later on.

You could do it very easily. But, if you were going solely for an undying mook, then it'd be boring as fuck. Everything would be a war of attrition.

E.g. Fight someone with fire. Get absolutely fucked from the burns. Heal. Repeat until they run out of steam. Now replace "fire" with almost anything.

It would be better if they had some secondary powers, skills, or equipment which they used. Make the regeneration a secret thing, or at least downplay it. Only have it revealed in a fucking badass moment. That way it isn't planned against and everything isn't a war of attrition.
>>
>>55327959
He could get ridiculously buff. High pain tolerance means that he could train ignoring pain, and fast healing means his muscles would heal up... possibly even while training.

He could be, at the very least, world level athlete in everything, if not above world level.
>>
>>55327985
Because the grapes are his Quirk, not regeneration. He just regrow them quickly.
