What do you mean by presentation exactly?

Having a map to present to the players in the first place?
Method of presentation and execution of the presentation? (beamer, printout, roll20, maptools, quick whiteboard drawing etc)
Representation choices on the map itself? (format, placement in format, font, medium, label size, symbols, color palette etc)
Actual worldbuilding choices about geography, demographics and magic that will show on the map?
>>
>>55267967
Is this a proper use of the meme?

>>

An important aspect I see everyone forget is that the Chad one is so weird and funny because it's literally the exact opposite of whatever the virgin does taken to a stupid degree.

Half the time they just make Chad do nonsense shit and forget he's not doing nonsense he's just a complete 180 on anything the virgin does.

Online or in person game?

If online how big are your maps?

I've been having trouble making maps from google earth pro Satalite images. In terms of the maps ending up too big for roll20 and also getting maps that can be scaled and gridded. (Game is mostly on foot. So it's a modern setting but isn't a jet fighter game like yours)

>>
Chad category and besties with a Virgin
Tbh I should probably just take all his worlds since I'm the one that actually GMs our group. Except I know he'll scold me every time I make something even mildly historically inaccurate.

I'm just happy when the current area the group is in makes sense and seems relatively alive. All I need to know is the general "feel" of things (well kept, happy, dying, decrepit) and where important shit is.
My maps reflect this sentiment.

Currently working on this.

It's quite a large map, covering an unfeasibly large play area, so I think I'll just get a basic "nations made up of X here, local threats include a, b, c" and ask them what part of the world they'd like to play, then take a week to flesh out that area.
Still need to add rivers as well as generally developed areas.

I understand and I empathize, I really do; it sucks when the thing that you hate is what everyone is talking about. That being said, however, I believe in the virtues of an off-topic /tg/.

I'm of the "/tg/ - traditional gamers" school of mind, and I'm not gonna budge an inch on that. People on /tg/ like to talk about unrelated shit, like Elder Scrolls and Warcraft lore, arms and armour, cyoas, mythology, children's fantasy novels, George R R Martin, and it seems also about politics. This spirit of off-topic discussion is what makes /tg/ great, and it shouldn't ever be infringed

/pol/. /pol/ is how these became opposites.

You see, /pol/ didn't give a shit about ethics in games journalism. /pol/ cared about leftists. And in gamergate, they found a bunch of angry dupes who could be herded like cattle. Zoe Quinn wasn't bad because she sucked some dick to win awards, Zoe Quinn was bad because she held badwrong position. She was a feminist. Feminism is the enemy of video games, you know? After all, look at all these feminists getting mad at people harassing a female developer.

All while the same harassers turn to the gullible saps that still believe it's about ethics in games journalism played onto the fact that these people were being attacked. They're just not being fair to you. Those mean feminists, projecting what we the trolls are saying to them and saying it's all your fault. These leftist are your enemies.

This isn't to say that, of course, the opposite side wasn't overreactionary dicks. After all, the "gamers are dead" articles were a good example of them shooting themselves in the foot in regards to being understood.

One side talked down, and another side framed it in such a way that these people were your enemies and every position they hold is something you should fight against.

And listen, I know this sounds far fetched, but if you understand how fascists recruit, this isn't new or innovative.
>>

Nice fantasy you got there.
What really happened was that that whole mess simply opened the eyes of a lot of people to the shit that was going on in general in our culture, and among them the ones who though "maybe this feminist, multicultural "utopia" where we white dudes are literally the devil and shunned from society due to the circumstances of our birth, even in our native homelands, ain't such a good idea", took an interest in politics, and went down the rabbit hole that is /pol/.

By the rates alone, men suffer an equal amount of harassment as women. This has been acknowledged in a number of reports, even some feminism-leaning ones.

Now, is the harassment faced by women somehow more malicious or more pernicious than the harassment faced by men? I could be. Personally, I'm sceptical of anyone claiming that something as personal as emotional response to harassment can be generalized over such broad categories of people, but I am willing to hear arguments for and against.

An interesting piece, but I find the actual study to go more in depth.

The part you posted refers to part 4 of the study, and it expands on the statistics. While women have a 20% higher chance of finding harassment be be very or extremely upsetting, this number isn't entirely due to the types of harassment that they suffer. If you look at the men and women who have ONLY suffered mild harassment, the ratio between men and women at the 'extremely' and 'very' category remains almost the same (27% women compared to 13% men).

It's a real pity that they don't have a link to the actual surveys. I'm really curious now about how things vary in very specific cases.

2000 people for the internet? No, but probably great sample for a single internet community at least which itself is probably a microcosm of the whole thing. >Is map presentation important for you?
Presentation is important in as much as it does not interfere with a map's legibility. As nice as it would be to have a space/galactic map look like it came straight from some federation's computer mapping program or for a medieval map to have small pictures of monsters and where they be I will settle for something that is far more practical than it is aesthetically pleasing.

Also in regards to OP's image I would genuinely like to try drawing a map one day using MS Paint, crayons, and try to Photoshop the resulting creation into a rad fantasy map.

Image related is what I consider a good map.

>study doesn't even begin to hit a sample size representative of the people it claims to study
>not garbage

Present some evidence that isn't trash before you ask people for counter-evidence. I think that much should be obvious.
>>
>>55293212
The necessary sample size isn't dependent on the population size.
>>
>>55293277

Yes it is when you want to make a study claiming to represent evidence for something as expansive as the internet.
>>
>>55293305
The study was of U.S. adult internet users living in households, it doesn't claim to be representative of all internet users.
>>
>>55293398

So it's a useless study?
>>
>>55293412
That group is a microcosm of the internet as a whole. Demonstrate that other populations are operating under inherently different dynamics regarding to gender and harassment. Otherwise it's reasonable to presume they're similar.

They did, and if you read the fucking survey. Women are more likely to use and be harassed on social media, while men have a hire usage/harassment on shit like forums and comment sections.

Don't bother, you've already given more than pretty much anyone on the internet would reasonably give.

He's just being pedantic and will never be happy with the information provided.
>>
>>55293471
I'm pretty sure the harassment of indian woman online can be put on the backburner, at least until they deal with the slightly more pressing issue of abnormal rates of gangrape.

>>55293653
I'm paraphrasing, but yes. I don't see how being more specific provides relevant information, but I'd love to hear your hypotheses.
>>
>>55293274
Honey, you clearly don't understand how a debate works. He's provided a study that, while you may think is flawed, is clearly far more evidence than you are willing to give. Most of us see past this emotional crying you're going through and are still waiting for you to provide am argument. Thanks.

Also, 2000 people is plenty for a study. Take a rudimentary statistics course.
>>
>>55293742
Oh, I see what he's doing. He's trying to make the thread reach the bump limit.

And here I though I was arguing with an idiot, when he was really a damned genius. Probably.

Damn, we've just been played like a damn fiddle.

> Demonstrate that other populations are operating under inherently different dynamics regarding to gender and harassment.

Moving goalposts
>>
>>55293856
>is clearly far more evidence

The evidence has been proven to be complete crap.

Why bother talking about evidence that isn't credible?

If a blind witness says he saw a crime and you thoroughly investigate to make sure that the witness is talking as though he is not blind, then would you submit that witness to the court? Or would you dismiss the witness as a crazy person?

They really should have just let you "advertise" your quests on relevant boars. Like, if you're running a Fate/ quest, you can head over to /a/ and make a thread saying "hey, is anyone interested in the Fate quest I'm gonna be running in /qst/."

Somewhere between.
I into geology and geograpgy, but also try to imagine what effects magical terramorphing and similar effects might have.
On the other hand, plot>reality. If I need a jungle next to a desert, and can't come up with a good reason, then fuck it, they go together.

I have thrown up a random mountain without bothering to check if it makes sense if I need some dwarves.
I'm a MS paintfag, I do try and make some unique and subversive stuff, but I sometimes wallow in easy shit to move along unimportant parts.
I have had a land of Arabian Dwarves, I have also had a town of Halflings named Hobbitville.
I only worldbuild for fun and gaems, I don't mix worldbuilding with anything else. Occasionally I write narratives about a world, but these pieces only serve as backstory and history to the world, and aren't things I use elsewhere. Fuck energy drinks. Fuck tea. Fuck music and ambient sounds.
I build text walls, and nobody pays for them.
I do borrow, but then I run with it.
I can draft a setting in four hours, but then I refine it for a few weeks passively.

Questfags don't have the stomach for that because they're more interested in spending their time creating fun things rather than working to make sure other people are having less fun.

It's so fucking satisfying, honestly. Like he just gave me a short list and really general locations for everything, overall shape and geographic features included, and let me do my thing. When it was done we were really happy about it and he posted it to facebook and it got lots of likes and lots of compliments on my art skills. Overall one of the most positive experiences I've had with the hobby.

2000 people is indeed enough for programs to tell you something.
they even tell you the % of how likely it is they are wrong. if it is under 5% it can be seen as kind of correct. under 1% is when you publish your study.
not that yoy needed that info for flipping burgers idiot.

Oh look if it is some thing fascist did then it is a core defining part of what makes a fascist.

>Guess that makes anyone who supports animal welfare is a fascist.

Look the method that this poster talks about is some thing the fascists did, but when they did it was by no means new or innovative. A lot of people of rather different political backgrounds have done the same thing with different level of success. Fascist had great returns in that method sure, however they had great returns in a lot of different methods as well. After all they took over a great power inside of 3 years of becoming a thing, they had to have mass intake of recruits to do that.

If using that method makes someone a fascist that means that 18th century classical liberals were fascist. Think on that.
