Hello guys! I'm here seeking ideas for a roguish campaign which takes place on a city full of (rich) politician wizards.

Battles in the shadows, trickery and thievery. What kind of conflicts this story could have? What kind of heists? Anyone here already DMed something like that?

Feed me with your ideas, /tg/!
>>
Well, the heists could be interesting. For one, if everyone is a wizard, no-one is. If you're in a city full of mages, you'll protect your shit with magical measures that counter magical measures other mages will bring. So in a way, a normal non-mage could have an easier time, at least slightly.

As for heists... well, spellbooks would probably be valuable. Research notes too. Anything that one wizard has that another also wants. Spell research probably particularly important with the politics.

For example, Wizard Bamboozino has proposed a new magical ward of his design be cast on the city borders, and he will develop it within two weeks for substantial research funds. However, Wizard Alfgand doesn't like Bamboozino and hires you to steal the ward research notes and bring them to him. Bamboozino gets shit on and sanctioned for not providing any results at all, and Alfgand can modify the wards slightly and submit them as his shit.

Depends on your setting. Is it a modern day setting with wizards? Or is it more fantasy? For a modern setting, perhaps the PCs might have to steal some magic artifacts away from non-magic scientists/researchers/government in order to preserve their existence/secrets.
>>
Is it modern? I always had this idea that I never used floating casinos (already named some "Ivory tower " and "the OZ")runned by wizards each wizard has his own turf to protect

Well OP? What's the setting like?
>>
Always wanted to play a game about rogues and fighter types having to oppose a magocracy.
Could be fun devising creative ways of killing casters.

A group of high schoolers channeling the power of their guardian spirits must defeat the evil CEO whose abusing their childhood friend's mental illness to open a portal from the beyond, flooding the city with demons in an attempt to become a god.

Just pull entirely from the Dungeons & Dragons movie and see if your group notices.

If the system you're running is anything other than Blades in the Dark you are officially the dumbest person on the planet.

For this scenario or just in general?

There's only one thing you really need: a bunch of slick-ass Jazz and Swing music. I recommend Movits!, the Cowboy Bebob soundtrack, and parts of the Road to Perdition soundtrack

Typical staples I'd include would be things like skylights that your team can rappel through, a use for every party member (specially tailored to their skill set), a carriage or rooftop chase through the city, a straight-laced lawman nemesis for your party (like Javert if he were less crazy), and a frame-job by a crooked noble or enemy team.

Keep in mind that this should be an incredibly campy campaign with nothing taken too seriously. Think Shadowrun but as a Saturday morning cartoon.
For inspiration, you could play through Persona 5 (if you haven't already), watch Lupin III, Oceans Eleven-However many, The Italian Job, Any Guy Ritchie Movie, and especially the GOTDAM Blues Brothers
>>
You might want to play a more rules-light game, since crunchy games tend to have people who like combat show up...
