Of course, they're not a hivemind, and with their massive numbers, they need to compete for resources -- Mortal beings. With them being so common, it's easy to tell a succubus from a elf/human/what have you. They're mostly harmless as long as they restrain themselves, so the can integrate into society as long as the nation isn't too religious. It's been a long time since I read R+V2, but IIRC the girl has two personalities: Her real one, which is somehow related to Alycard and the apocalypse, and a false outer one her mother created (based on herself) to keep the first one contained as much as possible, because apocalypse. Succubi in my settings tend to be one of the most "pure" strains of demon, the most alien and least relateable to actual humans/mortals. Their appearance is just an absurdly powerful illusion that automatically shapes the succubus into an "ideal" form of sexual beauty as averaged by the group the succubus intends to be seen by, down to concepts, philosophies, and so-on if need be, though it can also be used deliberately. I GMed a "Neutral/evil" campaign, where the players were tasked with solving the problems of a stale and corrupt empire. Everything was very formal, your facade meant everything, and people were dishonest about literally everything.

Enter one of my players. Took the Warlock class (5e D&D), and went a quite alternate route for a succubus type character.

Basically, she would set up people with each other, and goad them into cheating or otherwise break their vows to their spouse. She would then ensure everybody knew about it.
