Let's not add the following elements:
> Aliens (Alien tech is okay, don't overuse it)
> Magic (Psionics are better suited for sci-fi)
> /pol/ memes
> Apocalypse in any shape or form.

Year 1910
The French start experimenting with automated mechanisams, the first automated railway system is made. It is powered by strong diesel engines, whoms gasses cuse hedaches if offtenly exposed to them.

An unknown cult started rising into prominence in the Urals, claiming it is the right time for the 'kingdom of Flesh' usurp the 'kingdom of Metal' and started a revolution against the Tsar. The situation worsened, and Russia is asking for help from the other world powers by 1910.
>>

Germans are the first to offer aid, for the first time in history Mechas are revealed. German mecha pilots badly damage Polish roads leading to tension between the two nations.
>>

I don't want to hijack your thread, but what would you think of postapocalyptic setting were historical generals are cloned to fight a not!Skynet with dieselpunk and atompunk technology?
>>

Don't cross-punk.

The Italian kingdom, in a effort to gain a favorable trade deal with Russia and their permission to invade the Balkan Area, decide to intervene in the war. They use cheap, mass-produced clones to wear their enemy while the royal air forces hits the strategic points.

>Bashing on an art style invented by the survivors of ww1
>>
>>55219686
Why?
>>
>>55219741
Because it stps being punk.

>>55219700
How about this, they stolen some German blueprints for Mech and made their own smaller versions, whom while inferior can be mass produced and are controlled by officers. Each squad going around let's say 200 bots. Cloning is more of a Cyberpunk and Steampunk thing.
>>
>>55219783
Forgot to say they are mindless and human sized, not capable of using ranged weapons and easilly handled by your regular joe with a gun.
>>
>>55219783
>cloning is more of a [...] Steampunk thing
How'd you figure?
>>
>>55219783
>>55219794
The Germans, while angry that the Italians stole such a valuable secret, are fighting alonside them. However, they now live in a state of paranoia because they have more valuable technologies and don't want them to finish in other nation's hands.
>>
>>55219741
Same reason you don't put strawberries and mayo on fried liver.

The end result is inevitably worse rhan the constituent oarts.
>>
>>55219794
But if they aren't capable of using ranged weapons, why they make them? They need atleast big antitank rifles.
>>
>>55220031
To nerf them and not to turn the entire setting into robots fighting robots. It can be excused as itallians not having the technology to make them listen to more than two commands (Follow and Hit).
>>
>>55219964
>>55220031
Sounds like a bad idea now, let's scrap it. It is easier to say clones are dumb and need machines to be controlled, those machines spend Diesel to function and are placed on their heds as gass masks. How is that?
>>
A mercenary group known as the überknechts use smaller models of mechanical armor and sell their services to the highest bidder. They paint their mechs in bright, ostentatious colors.
>>
>>55220350
Germans intended to use mechanical suits but opted them out for Mechas, considering them the better product. When the schematics got leaked Germans did not bother to deal with them, but instead started providing more explosive rounds to their troops.

This, make them use drugs fuck the robot guy.

Clones act like Beserkers from farytales, they are full of hatered and rage. Itallians controll them by simply telling them their enemy has the drug they need, most of them die from withdrawal effects before ever coming into contact with the opponent.

So is to mix Cyberpunk and Dieselpunk.
You can't have both at the same time, you can have both tech at the same time like in Numeria, but then you don't really have a compass what sub-genre of fantasy it belongs to, and such subgenre classification becomes unecessary.

This situation is used by Netherlands, using this change of events to sell French products on English markets and vice-versa, making them them the strongest economical power in wester europe.

>In a desperate struggle to qwelm the rebelion (in Scotland) English drive a transport airplane stuffed with explosives into Dublin (Ireland)
I approve of this only because of the glorious clusterfuck that it would be. Just to make shit worse, a drunk Irish submarine captain sinks a German trading vessel.
>>
>>55226706
The Scottish/Irish alliance deperately try to convince the welsh to join their cause. meanwhile the English demand that they stay at the side of the kingdom and start supplying them with troops. Tensions mount between Wales and England, dividing the UK further.

Germany dispatches a submarine armada to hunt down the purpetrator, after finding it and eliminating it they conclude it is Brittish. Not knowing it was taken over by the Irish they declare war on England, and start hunting down their navy, having the majority of their troops abroad (Fighting in Russia) Germany decides to shore up anti-aircraft defences and fuck around with UK navy.

Civil unrest begins in japan, as a group of traditionalists rise up against the government. Calling themselves "The True Sons", they state that they wish for Japan to return to it's feudal state, and the way of the Samurai. After a year of conflict, the rebellion hits a brick wall, and flocks of rebels begin leaving Japan to wander the world as ronin. Eventually, samurai mercenaries are a common sight on the battlefields of the New War for Independence, fighting alongside the Scottish, and Irish forces.

Honestly the most interesting thing about dieselpunk is the architecture. Fuck I'd fucking love a setting with a focus on the various architectorial styles that mark the world as representatives of their ideologies.

Give me some bombastic and grand art deco, art nouveau, futurism, modernism, fascist architecture, stalinist commie architecture.

Tfw I'm writing a book and heavily use architecture to highlight the attitudes of the nations.

Art Deco: Monarchist-socialists
Art Noveau: Pseudo-Norse-Republicans
Modernism: Libertarian-corporatist land
Baroque/Neoclassical influences: Semi-fallen Rome-like place

We should flesh out this Cult.
What's their' story? What are their goals? What kind of units do they use? How can they stopped?
>>
>>55235304
Their goals are to reduce the world to a state of Anarcho Tribalisam. They use mad footsoliders whom are all seaminglly mad, offten using bayonetts rather than guns to charge the enemy. What is unknown to Russia and Germany is that they are seacretly Itallian clones whoms only pourpouce was to force Russia to let Italy attack Yugoslavia as they are now helping Russia. As someone above posted, the Germans found a cloning facility, would be perfectlly fine if Italians did it on pourpouce.
