Ya know, not the other guy, but I went into the Warcraft wanting to absolutely hate it. I left feeling only rather "Meh."
The worst thing was the pacing. It's 2 and a half hours long and still screams through its story to cover everything it needs to cover. Apparently David Jones' original cut was 40 minutes longer. I'd actually watch that since it probably made the movie much better.
Yeah, a lot of changes to the lore happen. The only one that really irked me was that there was no drinking of Mannoroth's blood. The orcs receive the "gift of the fel" by Gul'dan just wiggling his fingers at them.
>>55221812
The movie had the chance to be great. It just absolutely required to be two movies. Especially if both movies came out the same day.
The first movie should have been all the events we see, plus expanded scenes, but only from the orc side. The second movie would be everything in the movie we see, with expanded scenes, from the human side.
It would be a really interesting "new" movie going experience, where you could literally watch two completely different takes on the same events.
Never going to happen though, so we're left with this bastardized hybrid.I genuinely liked the plot change of the humans getting dwarven guns being the reason they turn around the war
>>55221462
not only does it exist you probably watched it
it's lacks all presence you probably don't remember it
>>55221924
Hell, the movie didn't even get to the ending of the first game. That is, the sacking of Stormwind.
I did groan when I saw all the Alliance races sitting around the table discussing uniting against the orcish invasion because the Alliance didn't exist until Warcraft 2.Was pleasantly surprised when they all basically told Llane to go fuck himself and walked away. And was happy with the implication that Medivh was Garona's father. Forever cockblocking that, even if the Warcraft movie was super-successful and spawned a dozen sequels, we'd never have to deal with the dogshit that was Me'dan.
>>55222043
>>55221993
>sacking of Stormwind.
Yeah, thats what my spoiler was about. I think its a good way to change the story, introduce the alliance roots, and progress the narrative.
Also, hate to break it to ya if you didn't know, but Warcraft was actually a success from a financial perspective, and very likely to get at least one sequel. Blame/thank China for that.
>>55222055
This'll be fun.
>>55222054
>>55222055
Yeah, I know China gave it a profit.

>The first movie should have been all the events we see, plus expanded scenes, but only from the orc side. The second movie would be everything in the movie we see, with expanded scenes, from the human side.
Like how "Letters From Iwo Jima" and "Flags of our Fathers" were made?
>>55222177
yeah, exactly.
>>55222177
But that would have made sense. Meshing the orcs as both rampaging evil savages AND desperate people looking for a new home doesn't really work when you see first hand they ruined their own planet. Didn't even need demons blood to do it this time.
>>55221924
Another issue though was that the alliance side of things was less well made. It's a problem when the CGI orcs were better acted and more relatable than the humans.
>>55221127
Yup.

Because it would make sense that something not written by a veteran of a nasty war would likely have a different vibe or perspective.
Or did they really say:
>LotR wasn't written by an old white man in the trenches of WWI. [WoW] is going to have a different vibe.
Maybe it's just a grammar error. Then again this is TIME magazine we're talking about, so I have low expectations when it comes to how subtle their biases may be.

That whole fight was the coolest part of Part1. JoJo powerslamming Dio three stories down (eventually) and staking him through the heart with the Statue of the Joestar family would have been a way better end to that story than what we got.
But then we wouldn't have gotten Zepplini, Dire & Straights and Dio sans the rest of his body.
Although it's weird how you misremember things over time. For instance, I could have SWORN that in the Manga the statue was of Athena, complete with Lance and it was that which JoJo staked Dio with, and that the boat JoJo and Erina were on at the end was the Titanic.

I mean, if we're going to into sexual terrority, let's lay down the correct answer.
What you need to do is lock all of them in chastity, while laying down rules based on their dress, with infractions leading to longer lock up times. You force the more overtly sexual maids to torment the more classical/reserved ones, who are required to maintain their composure through it all. This sets them against each other so that they view their companions as their cause of their denial, rather than me, and will breed a competitive and backstabbing environment.
And while there's plenty of sexual activity, it's all focused on denial and frustration, especially in the beginning. This is to ensure that they fail to meet the standards set for them.
Soon enough they'll be begging to do anything just to have a chance at release, which will infrequently be rewarded. It's important to keep the game up so that they keep playing, after all.
>>55229188

>Seriously, filename threads are not exactly a high form of art, sure, there is a constraint of form, a constraint of material and a constraint of subject, but their all entirely voluntary, but I still post random pictures and hope that someone find something relevant to add to them, and all I think all along is "I contribute. This is fun".jpg
>>55230864
>The worst part is, I don't just at random, I obviously sort of see how my pictures are somehow tg-related. Other people see it and can find filenames in seconds, although not always inspired ones, because my pictures aren't that inspiring. But despite me finding a connection, I cannot manage to put it into words, while it's the entire point of the exercise. For an instant, a spark happened in my brain, but instead of burning itself into a true light, I allowed it to peter out instantly, and I show you my incompetence. This is my life now.webm

There are always a number of isometric or 3d visualizers more or less in development. There even was one that could export a df map into minecraft, though I never got that to work very well.
Those are just utilities you run beside the game. Rarely do they enable full interaction with the game itself.

I always used to play the Masterwork mod which had a nice selection of tilesets. My favourite was Ironhand, since it had an overall darker and subdued atmosphere. But I think this tileset is now out of date.
The whole mod seems to be in turmoil. The creator has disappeared without a word for agood time now. One guy is keeping it up to date somehow, but I am not sure how the progress there is.
It is a burden on my soul. I am getting my tinkering fix with Factorio and Kerbal Space Program meanwhile.

2. A decade is a long time if their schedule keeps up
3. This art hurts me. Why do I persist in my own suffering?

If there's no research into anti-magic and that shit isn't absolutely plastered in high-value areas then your setting is retarded or you better have a good reason why that's not a thing. I imagine all the well-traveled characters in said world would have some form of anti-magic on them as well.
>>55234282
I have an unspoken setting rule known as the Curse of the Magi. The idea is that mages that deliberately abuse magic generally find themselves on the wrong side of fate. This is because the goddess of magic is also the goddess of doom, and nothing pisses her off more than a wizard on a power trip.
>>55234222
It improves. It takes about 3 years or so, but it very definitely improves.

>goddess of magic hates magic
This is like if you had a goddess of water who hated watering your garden. How can the god of X thing hate X thing taken to its logical conclusion? Real "clever" way to explain why antimagic doesn't exist in your setting, you fucking hack.
>>55234709
I read it as hating waste of magic
Your example is good because the goddess of water could be against wasting water for your garden (selfish) when rain is there to do it for you and everyone else
>>55234709
More like
>Hey, I'm going to create food traps and stop time forever and create four-dimensional space wedgies for shits and giggles!
>Proceeds to get splattered across multiple planes
It doesn't stop magic from being studied, it just prevents magicians from going full retard without consequences.

those guys are crazy
remember that one pic when one of them got drunk, took a car, couldn't get it to start due to the inbuilt breathalyser, caught a raccoon, made it breath in the breathalyser which made it pass out. He then laid it in the car where it woke up, started mauling him while he was driving which made him drive into a fence

What's /pol/ about this? Is the monster horse an immigrant?
>>55238212
On Apirl 1st, /mlp/ and /pol/ were combined for a day. The card is "It that Rides as One", which transforms from "Lone Rider", and depicts the rider physically fused to the horse. Mechanically, the card is better than "Lone Rider", which is funny because when horsefuckers and Nazis were forced to live together it was actually a genuine improvement in spite of all the porn.
>>55238245
I thought all the nazis were horsefuckers anyway? It's par for the course for reactionary douchenozzles to be the thing they hate, so I figured they'd all be closeted degenerates and jews.
>>55238472
The main reason for the surprising improvement was that the sheer amount of horse porn scared off dozens of Redditors that were astroturfing like crazy on /pol/.
And on /mlp/s side, they are a shadow of the shadow of their former self. /pol/tards and fetishists despised even even more degenerate corners of the internet is almost all that is left of it.
