Why do you think people are flinging around accusations of "You don't belong here anymore, get out"?

Shit's changed, rapidly.

Intra jump was always the reason it wasn't offered, Avatar mode has never been that strong even way back since we had stuff like One Piece or Naruto.

>>
>>55213388
It was kind of inevitable, really. There was never any reason besides personal preference and inter-jump balance. Setting aside how completely arbitrary they were, there was never an actual rule written anywhere to deny high-powered settings. Add to that no one really knew what they were talking about with the "limits" (setting them way lower than jumps we already had on the drive), and have a few people leave and it's really no surprise. And of course we had intelligence perks and sci-fi jumps that can easily make higher-cost shit and allow easier solutions, so people just raised the bar on non-intelligence perks.

I like the Spittle Runner, from Invader Zim.
It's very small, like, car-sized, with a cockpit and a place for snack storage and like nothing else, but that doesn't really matter when you can just install a hatch to connect to your warehouse in there. And if you're like me, and picked the Portal option, you don't even need that.

Anyway, aside from being a spaceship, it's also small enough that it makes for a pretty handy car and/or mini-mech, if you want to mod it. It's like my very own interstellar Wily Saucer.

He's not that huge, but he is pretty big. I'd say like...maybe Smaug-sized? That being said, he more then makes up for it in power. It took a mountain being dropped on him by the most powerful dragons in the world to kill him, and even then his death turned the entire place into a hellscape. And then, to make sure he didn't cause any chaos, they sealed his soul away in another dimension. This still didn't stop him, and he was able to convince a race of apes to join him and serve him, as well as corrupt a hatchling and turn her into a monstrously powerful, huge adult dragoness. And after he was revived, he was able to summon a golem that could destroy the entire planet, with him hinting that he could somehow survive the planet shattering and then create a new world in his own image.

Why not just grab a traditional dragon and build it a Gundam-style mecha suit to operate in space? Then you can ride on it's back in your own mecha suit. You don't necessarily have to go bigger to get more firepower.

Of course, there's always Dragonlance. Epic Dragons can keep growing larger pretty much endlessly. But I hate recommending Dungeons and Dragons for everything.

We've always had jumps like Final Fantasy and D&D. The power levels have always been there for people who knew their settings. The old justification to ban jumps/things from jumps used to be "it'll trivialize the rest of the chain"... But that's how things were already. There were already several jumps that could trivialize everything after them, so there didn't seem to be much reason to keep those restrictions. Ironically, one of the most obvious ways to avoid trivializing everything was to make jumps for higher and higher power settings where you'd still be threatened even if you were fairly powerful. Really, the ban on stronger settings seemed to be kneejerk reactions by people who 1) preferred lower-level settings and 2) didn't know what kind of power was already available.

>>
>>55214012
I think the ban on stronger settings existed solely because that's how Quicksilver originally envisioned Jumpchain. I hate to rag on the guy more, but he intentionally kept the power levels of his Jumps low, probably because he didn't intend for anyone else to make Jumps, and was going to just make Jumps around similar levels of power, to prevent their from being an objective best order in which to take Jumps.

And for that we were forced to cast Quicksilver down as Zeus did with Cronos.
>>
>>55214153
Yeah he did let other people make Jumps, but I very much doubt that was his original intention. The first few Jumps were similar to his own, maintain a similar style and power level, but other people kept releasing Jumps that were further from his own, and he likely didn't want to say no and invalidate the works others had done.

Hello, it's overpowered eevee anon again.

Would this perk from Evo search for eden -

>Review of Evolution (400cp, Discount Benefactor): Once a month you may at no cost revert to an evolutionary form in your Record of Evolution, a change which may last up to one week . You will for all effective purposes have returned to that form, and will not retain any changes you've gone through since then. Alternatively you may permanently revert, restoring yourself to a prior form at no cost.

- Possibly combined with this one -

>Evolutionary Divergence (600cp, Discount Benefactor): Natural life has diverged along many different evolutionary lines, and you've acquired the same trick, at least in your own way. Instead of having just one form, you technically have five that you can switch between at will. EVO is gained by these forms equally, meaning you get to evolve all five at an equal rate with no additional effort, although you cannot share their pools between them in anyway. At any point you may copy one of your forms over to fill any of the other slots, letting you start to diverge them from that point onwards normally.

- make me able to devolve into an Eevee from one of it's Eeveelutions, and then have the qualities of all of them via Not My Final Form (SAO)?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't ask me. Though I suspect there'll be a bit of "it's not actually as powerful as it sounds" or "they didn't really do those things". Either that, or it might just be disallowed. It's still at least a couple weeks off, maybe a couple months, and that wasn't even a true ruling. Plenty of time for things to change.

That and things like finding out how many other jumps, recent and old, went beyond the limits I was trying to stick to, I just stopped caring about it and resolved to just balance it internally for stuff like Dies or Demonbane.
>>
>>55214240
>Limits are pretty much totally gone once Dies Irae comes out since you can become a Hadou in chain now.

Never saw the appeal of powerbuffing. To me it's like turning on god mod in a FPS, there's no longer a challenge, you just clear an area and move on.

That was Q's problem in TNG, when you can snap your fingers and do anything you get bored.

The whole "power creep" of /jc/ is a whole crock anyways. There's high powered settings and low powered settings. As long as they're balanced internally and represent the property itself, who cares how much power you can get out of a setting? If you don't want it in your Chain, don't Jump it. Hell, people like to bitch about not getting enough power to survive in a setting if you do try to limit things below the setting, so why bother.

TLDR: I'm with you Val. Internally balance Jumps and be done with it.

That's not really an excuse when Toggle and "fiat you can always find a challenge" perks are so prevalent nowadays. All because I didn't finish mopping, because the fucking fryer got pushed back into me WHILE I was mopping.

I'm...personally of the mindset that a chain should have options to be whatever's feasible, as long as it makes sense for the settings and the jumps work internally. If you want to be powerful, go nuts. If you want to be a street-level hero detective who talks only in Portugese while juggling chainsaws, that's also valid. I realized I'd be fighting a losing battle around the time I made Disgaea and opted for internal balance.

...thaaaat being said, I'm well aware my lackadaisy attitude with Disgaea and beyond probably contributed to that being a consensus. I mean, like Val said, stuff like that was always available if you knew where to look or just used your brain. My whole argument of 'why not build a borking doomsday device you lazy fuck' on planet-busting from ages ago came to mind.

That said, um.

Sorry.

God, that sounds horrible. I hope you can take a few days to heal before heading back into that hellhole. Hardware retail is bad, but at least the throw bandages and give you time to stop bleeding before kicking you back out onto the floor. I hope you can get something better.

>>55214559
Not quite sure what that has to do with my post, but I agree. Low power Jumps have their own charm and more would be nice. But people will make what they like. The best way to see the setting you want made is to make it.

>>55214585

Yes? A good half of the jumps in uploads fit that description, probably a higher ratio on the actual drive.
>>
>>55214506
You do not. You only lose your ability to travel to other universes so you can't skip the drawback or call in outside help, and you also lose outside items, companions, and your Warehouse and other things that follow you so you can't cheese the drawback with already built infrastructure and armies.
>>

There aren't many properties like that which appeal to 4chan's demographic. Remember what this place is. This is an anime website. This board is about table top, and most table top makes you into a badass troupe of heroes. A lot of people here play videogames too.

Everything that appeals to 4chan is largely made up of properties that are not mundane, that do not follow 'standard humans'. That's the nature of this website.

I think I needed this, it was the perfect way to get over the stress of being sent to a joke world then one of my companions destroying the world behind my back. It was so good to get back to my music.

It’s kind of funny I really didn’t sing for the fame or money, I just sang because I enjoyed it. It was thrilling to get out in front of the crowds and sing my heart out. Thankfully I had worked and trained with my companions so we were able to be a band and I was able to share this excitement with my wives.

We got some strange press about our marital relationship but hell I don’t care. I think we got boycotted in the south or something but again Really wasn’t in it for the money.

Things were going great… I should have been worried then.

(to be continued)
>>
>>55214720
Yeah, if you used the import options you can keep those items.
>>
>>55214771
During the latter half of our stay Michael Jackson rose from his grave. Not the wirdo with the bad press no but the singing and dancing zombie from thriller. He immediately began to enrapture and transform people until soon he had an army of dancing zombies.

The army was sent in but they were powerless and only added to his numbers.

Eventually as we were the number one music act in the world a the time the military came to us. They believed that maybe they could break Michael’s hold over the people with music. If it was powerful enough it might just stop the zombification.

They set us up on a stage in front of the oncoming horde and as we began to hear the music we started played. We played for all we were worth.

Soon we saw him, both of us sang our hearts out and danced and for a while I didn’t know if I could do it.

Then he stopped… He stopped suddenly and smiled. As he stopped the dancing horde stopped and parted. We stopped as well sensing something. Finally Michael walked up to the stage and greeted us, he shook my hand. He told me he was proud to see that someone else had risen to his level in pop music. He told me that he was passing on his crown as king of pop making me the new queen of pop. He also said he was very tired now and needed to go back and rest.

The people seemed to snap out of being zombies. Michael walked off in to the sunset and vanished.

Yes. I am aware. I was specifically pointing out an opposing view. One that has become less popular after fucking Rick Riordan. How? What above that goes above "street-level"? Serious question, I haven't seen much Addams Family, but it's an old sitcom, right?
>>
>>55214749
Leaving the driver exposed is the ultimate in reverse engineering. No one will try to take a shot at them, because obviously it's a trap. No one would leave a pilot so open. There must be force-fields or something in place.

I have a love for silly engineering projects like these guys. Wildly impractical, but so cool.
>>
>>55214689
But if people were to start working on low-powered properties, nobody would care or even comment. They'd probably get some courtesy builds if they asked for some, but for certain next to nobody would ever mention their Jump ever again unless they do (or unless somebody asks a question in thread like "What are your favorite low-powered Jumps).

Didn't she say you don't have the capability to do it naturally? I don't know if she meant that as you being like Reinhard and possessing the potential, but needing some insane ritual to pull it off, or just as not being able to do it at all. But that would make it kind of difficult either way.

>iconic outfit

Main chain's a kilt, a sporran, and the Prometheum Driver.
occasionally I alternate between boots or bare feet.

Wren's chain goes for a long duster with blue jeans and a leather tunic underneath. The duster's rainslick has had the majority of an old poncho sewn and stitched onto it, and the outer folds, sleeves, and bottom of the tunic have had the Summoner's Robes from Fire Emblem: Heroes added onto them. He's got an old Stetson hat somewhere on the Ark, but mostly wears a red beanie with holes cut into it for his ears.

When nobody makes clothing for people with cat-tails or ears, you gotta learn the way of the needle and thread.

Energybending, since we're shown that it can manipulate raw spirit energy (theoretically it could start firing laser beams and shit if all the Avatars weren't scared of it), and that it can take away and give bending. So you could become the Avatar through it. And since anyone can learn it, it's only a matter of you tracking down a lion turtle.
>>
>>55214940
For the most part? Yes.
>>
>>55214927
Do what I did. Pick up Fire and Earthbending from Teen Titans, then Airbending in Avatar so you can give that poor kid a little hope, and finally Waterbending in Korra so you can bully her by being a better Avatar in all the ways that matter.

Or tutor her into being a decent human being. I mean, you can try. My dice specifically told me NO FUCK YOU FOR TRYING no matter how many rerolls I did. I never saw three 1s out of 100 in a row until I attempted to tutor Korra in a previous Chain.

But back on topic: I really prefer Avatar Earthbending, especially if you ramp it into Metalbending without specializing in it exclusively.
>>
>>55214927
Waterbending has the cutest waifus and the strongest sub-disciplines.

Only problem is that their civilization sucks, but they were getting bullied and razed by Japan for a whole century so that's only expected. Still, they need better tech.
>>
>>55214927
I prefer Water, but Fire and Earth are objectively the best because they don't require and physical sources of their element; they can be pretty much spontaneously generated as the Bender requires.
>>
>>55214940
Oh so mostly achievable through out of jump stuff? Does that mean the replace Ren option was nixed or is just part of the end-jump stuff along with KKK? And happy to help.

It's not like air doesn't need physical sources, it's just that humans are always around air because they need it to live. If you were in, like, Subnautica (didn't that get a jump?) or Aquaria, airbending would suck ass and you'd want Waterbending.
>>
>>55215066
Dude.

There's air in the water, just like there's water in all living things.
>>
>>55214969
No but, like. It just seems kind of silly concept to me. I mean, you're leaving setting of one world... just to go to another... and another... and another... whose only difference with the one you just left is you get free shit related to a thing that you could have done in the previous world if you just budgeted your time differently. It's just, why jump if you just want to live your current life but with none of the people you knew, and keep moving away from new people every ten years?
>>
>>55215078
>There's air in the water
There's dissolve oxygen. You're gonna have to show me the Airbender that can bend straight up molecules.
>>
>>55215037
Assuming this was meant for me (Cause otherwise that's a really weird response to that guy man) but there is technically some in jump ways, given the wealth of power stealing and metaphysical bullshit options.

There won't be a replace Ren option, probably, and what the End Jump covers has been altered given the lifted restrictions. It's going to focus on one specific part of KKK that everyone knows.

That's the exact reason I did it! I mean, I always felt horrible for him. Sure, he's got his friends and a purpose and he bounces back from it after a while... but damn man. Being literally the last of anything in existence would be ultra depressing once all the excitement of being hunted around the world while trying to save it let off.

So I took Airbending and waited for him at the Southern Air Temple. I even cleaned up the place a little and gave the monks a proper burial. Which he seemed to take better than stumbling onto the corpse of his teacher just saying there. Of course, I had to lie and tell him I was the last of a family that had managed to escape extermination by hiding our talents, but that seemed like a small price to pay overall.

Nobody should have to endure being the last of anything.

Question for you Valeria. I am currently making a Jump and I would appreciate your opinion.

I am currently making a jump in a setting with a particular set of physics that affects a large portion of the world, sort of like No Game No Life's Aschente system.

I received some negative feedback however about enforcing the particular set of physics and I think that the main reason is because I gave them a choice of two mandatory drawbacks. So I am wondering how you would go about keeping a universe's consistency in that regard in a way to best mitigate complaints

>>55215439
Hm. Well it's a little hard without knowing the specifics but I guess there are some things to do. Having it as detail in the intro or as a mandatory perk can make it easier to swallow that it's happening that way than a mandatory drawback. Some people have a kneejerk dislike to those things so it can set their negative responses on automatically.

That said, not knowing anything more than that it's just how the universes' metaphysics work...I'd honestly just have it be detailed in the intro or as a mandatory drawback. As long as you are just sticking to how it works in setting and you're clear that it's not doing anything but detailing how it works without applying any forced bond to keeping to that set of physics, there's really no room to complain if you use mandatory drawbacks to detail it.

Now if you do it as a drawback but then force people to obey the physics, rather then potentially leaving things open to them subverting or changing things, that'll go down a lot more poorly. It'll be, fairly rightly, seen as you trying to force your view of how the setting should work on people who go there. Which can be annoying as the maker, seeing people trash the setting, but is kinda what you need to learn to live with.

The usually starter, Pokemon, is always a pretty easy start so long as you avoid Orre.

The thread was talking about it before, but Avatar:TLA is pretty modestly powered but is pretty familiar material and a unique world with leeway for a wide variety of narratives.

As weird as it sounds, Bloodborne can fairly easily be handled so long as you have a few jumps under your belt and stay away from the more dangerous scenarios. It also comes with both a stamina and health regen perks, which are always in short supply for jumpers.

Fallen London is... metaphysically challenged, but not too difficult to live in with ten years. Another one with some strong narrative potential.

They are dangerous, but Jormungand and Black Lagoon are both very solid action jumps that only require human ability and some quick thinking.

In the Moana jump you can quite literally choose Time as your thing for Living Legends capstone. So if you become time, you should "bleed time" in a literal sense, but don't expect time shenanigans aside from aging stuff.

My only other thought is not really what your looking for, but if you had some crazy time magic, you could use that perk in Weakness of Beatrice that allows your magic to apply on your body at a diminished power and apply your time magic to your blood and have blood that is blessed with any of your time related effects.

Let's see how much of a bad idea this is...

The Legend of Jumper [Special] (Requires Waterbending. Cannot be taken with Origin Spirit. Starting age set to 16.): Have you ever wondered exactly how the Avatar is able to reincarnate each time they die? It's because of a special spirit named Raava, the embodiment of peace and light.
This ancient spirit passes the memories and abilities of each avatar from one host to the next in order to ensure the world always has someone to protect it against evil and to maintain the balance between humanity and nature. Normally Raava would've gone to Korra after Aang's death in order to make her the new avatar, but your arrival has piqued her interest and if you so desire she will bond with your soul and make you the new avatar.
If you agree to take on this enormous responsibility you'll gain all the powers of the Avatar and a connection to the spirit of every previous Avatar who's ever lived. While you'll only start off knowing how to bend a single element you can quickly learn the basics of manipulating the other three, but the element most opposite of your personality will always be the most difficult to learn and control.
With practice and study you'll be able to improve your abilities, and after years or decades you'll reach the point where you can perform earth shattering feats. You can also learn specializations like blood, metal, or energy bending, but they will be even more difficult to master than normal bending.
>>
>>55216665
Glad to see you're easy to bully into rash decisions.
>>
>>55216665

Aside from your bending powers you will also have an affinity for spiritual feats such as astral projection and communicating with spirits. Finally in times of great distress you can activate the Avatar State, a special power boost that draws upon the strength and skills of all your past lives allowing you to perform incredible feats with ease. Be warned however, while in the Avatar State you have little control over your actions and if you're killed in this form the spirit of Raava and all your past lives will cease to exist.
Before you celebrate your new abilities, there is a price for becoming the Avatar. In exchange for replacing Korra you must bring about every major positive change she did in order to keep all of your gifts after the jump. You must establish equality between benders and non-benders, return spirits and spirituality to the world, create a new population of airbenders, bring liberty and freedom to those oppressed by tyranny, and ensure that by the time you leave the word is protected by a just and peaceful new order. While some of these things may sound difficult or foolish, keep in mind that you don't have to exactly repeat what Korra did in order to achieve the desired effect. Also, in case you were wondering, the young waterbender will still exist if you accept this scenario but she might be completely different after not having grown up as the Avatar. Also no one knows that you're the Avatar yet, so your certain to cause some excitement and relief once you choose to reveal yourself.
>>
>>55216665
Do you just ignore everyone that protested the idea? It seems quite hypocritical for you to complain about power creep when you go ahead and do it despite all the objections people raise to the idea.

Not even putting a price on it is just stupid.
>>
>>55216514
Phantom of the Order doesn't seem as good as the other capstones. It grants you servant points cheaper than 1:1 sp for cp, but aren't they going to more discounted in GO than other Fates? Besides that, it's basically a more limited Spirit Feast/72 Jumpers. Perks looks really good though. Will GO also have a Demi-Servant capstone breaker?

I don't know if I'm gonna change it or not. I just wanted to see what people thought of this first.
>>
>>55216676
Wow, those are absurdly easy requirements. Most of them will just happen on your own if you beat one guy (The most she did for equality was expose Amon for a bender) or just follow the plans of another guy (Just release the dark spirit and beat him in your big spirit mode). You can even just go hunt down Kuvira and the like early.

I agree with the other guy about your hypocrisy. You complain yet you don't even put a price on this and the requirements are really easy, given how Korra is an idiot that bumbled her way through this stuff and much of it was done for her

>>
>>55216701
Servant Points are not discounted for you in GO, only for a limited number of Servants you summon so you can companion them easier. It's also giving you knowledge of how to fuse Phantoms with people and I don't believe there is a limit on the number that can be fused. At the very least there's one with 3 phantoms fused.

There will be a capstone booster yeah but I haven't given any thought to what the boosters will be for each capstone. Always try and leave that till the capstones are done to be more fair.

I'm not seeing it. Some really nice social manipulation perks in general, but nothing for this. It doesn't really matter, though, I kind of want to do the jump where I'd be murdering this guy (and it totally is a murder, I have no illusions about the justness of my actions, I just hate him so much) before DxD. It's Desolate Era, I want to kill Ji Ning early in his career, and I'd like to have the power boost of having been a xianxia protagonist before I go to DxD. Thanks for answering, though.
>>
>>55216774
You're entitled to your own opinion, and really, helping Korra become a proper Avatar is a pretty great goal. But, at the same time, it's also cool to be the hero, to be the Avatar.
>>
>>55216665
Given the current events, did you already decided about unlocking spiral energy pre-spark as you mentioned some threads ago?
>>
>>55216800
It's basically a soft cap perk except your abilities, once trained high enough, will start getting supernatural parts to them. This can be passive, just making your skills let you do supernatural bullshit via being so skilled, or manifest as active abilities that may cost energy for you to do. Something like your raw skills in kung fu getting so could you learn how to do hadoukens despite the martial art having nothing to do with that. It applies to any skills, including magic skills. Er, not Servant Skills though. Just skill skills. Stuff you train or study to get better at.

You know, with all this talk about Avatar, I want to ask you guys something: what were some headcanons that you had for Avatar that were rendered non-canon by Legend of Korra? I always thought the Avatar was like an incarnation of the spirit of the Earth, myself. You know, because they could control all four elements and had a bond with the denizens of the spirit world? Seemed fitting to me. Raava is cool as well, though.
>>
>>55216837
I guess, but it feels like forcing him to commit suicide by me is a bit too much, instead of just goading him into it. That's just a bit farther than I'm willing to go with my morals, kind of hypocritical since I'm murdering him either way, but it's how I feel.
>>
>>55216858
Well, not necessarily. Just being supernatural isn't necessarily magical. The hadouken example would probably be affected by magical resistance yes but just being supernaturally good at punching motherfuckers in the face wouldn't trigger that magic resistance.
>>
>>55216833

>>
>>55216723

>>55216719

>>55216773
>What happens when you leave?
Time is frozen in setting. After you get your spark you can probably just make a copy of her or replicate all your avatar powers. As for when you die she'll just come back if you have a one up and she realizes you aren't dead.

That spirits were around and just working behind the scenes. Like, in the first series the spirits are all over the place. Hei Bai, Roku and Fang, Tui and La, Wan Shi Tong and his foxes, the Painted Lady...I never felt that the spirits were somehow cut off from the world, I figured that they just didn't manifest physically that often. But no, come Season 2 of Legend of Korra, it turns out that's totally wrong and the spirits were kept from the world.

Hey KOTOR Anon, if we become the Avatar, would it be possible to let Aang speak to his surviving friends through us? I loved the fact that the Spirits were, well, Spiritual. Season 1 was honestly the best with the way it depicted the spirits as subtle forces, but hectically dangerous when angered.

The Painted Lady episode was my fave though, made me wonder if Katara's sudden jump in Water Bending ability after the episode wasn't a blessing from her or something, y'know?

Alright. Be honest.

Did Val bully you into changing it.

>>55216892
He's the protagonist, and he's just so self-centered and annoying. He's got these awful misconceptions about his character, that he's some gallant hero, when he's really just a selfish prick. Like, he thinks that giving people excessive payment for minor services means he's kind, when he's really so incredibly wealthy that the money means nothing to him and as such his magnanimous rewards are empty. Or he boasts about how he, though his own efforts and nothing else, managed to become so powerful when he has literally every possible advantage he could just piled upon him. Or when he reads the will of one of his dead slaves (oh yeah, he's a slave owner) and she mentions that she cared about him even though she feared him greatly, and he assumes that she was secretly in love with him (a small child at the time, thanks to reincarnation), even though the will explicitly states she thought of him as a brother.

It's just all this self-aggrandizing shit, even random people trying to kill him suck his dick. Seriously, characters show up just to fight him for a chapter or two, go "this child is the most incredible hero in all of history", and then be murdered when he unlocks the next stage of his cultivation in a process that has zero dramatic weight because there was nothing riding on it. So I'm going to defeat him at the Golden Sword tournament after his father rigs it in his favor, shame him in front of his entire clan, kill Serpentwing (a monster he had some enmity with and wanted to kill, himself), and then when he comes after me all indignant that I robbed him of his destiny, goad him into attacking me so I can use lethal force. It'll be fine, this is a universe with reincarnation and Ji Ning wound up in his situation by accident. I'll just be sending him to the next life he's supposed to be in.
>>
So is this how every jumpmaker before Valeria's going to end up eventually?

Just going "There's literally no point in trying to defy it anymore. if I don't, my jump will just get replaced and thread will let it happen."?

The whole backstory of bending. Humans learning bending from the animals and nature around them until it reflected in their nature and abilities was a lot more spiritual and interesting than 'it was all lion turtles.'

Also the setting in Wan's time makes it incredibly hard to hold the slightest bit of like or sympathy for spirits. Humans would have been slaughtered by these things if not for the turtles, am I supposed to like them?

>Humans learning bending from the animals and nature around them until it reflected in their nature and abilities was a lot more spiritual and interesting than 'it was all lion turtles.'
I think the idea is supposed to be that they got the power from the lion-turtles but learned the skill from sky bison, badger-moles, dragons, and Tui and La because there's no waterbending animal for some reason. Like, we see that those early benders weren't very good, and also that Wan does improve in skill with his firebending after he dances with a dragon like Zuko and Aang did. It's still kind of a dumb revision, but it's not entirely a retcon.

>Also the setting in Wan's time makes it incredibly hard to hold the slightest bit of like or sympathy for spirits. Humans would have been slaughtered by these things if not for the turtles, am I supposed to like them?
Definitely agree with you on this, though. Fuck those spirits, why are we letting them back into the world? Heck, we see that they're not any nicer post-Harmonic Convergence, they didn't change their attitude at all over the past ten thousand years.

Do you even try with your bait anymore? Instead of putting thought into it, you just scatter shotgun as much bait as possible hoping someone bites so you can bait them some more. Ironically, this means you spend way more time here than would be necessary. Good baiters can make a single shitpost then have the thread blow up while they masturbate. You can't manage that anymore. You need constant goading and an investment of your entire damn life to get any results at all. You're an amateur.
>>
>>55217148
Plus spirits only came to the human world originally because Vaatu breached the barrier between worlds and while being stalemated by Raava the other spirits being free to do whatever turned the world into a place where humanity only survived by the lion turtles taking pity on them and letting them live on their backs. So letting the spirits into the human world might turn out pretty badly.

Oh, it's super petty. I fully admit that this is just because I hate his smug attitude, and that realistically speaking jumper-me probably would have a smug attitude of their own and is therefore a hypocrite. It takes the best bits of each of the four categories. So it'll have the best body, mind, gear and powers they had, even if each of those are at different times and places. It won't draw from different versions of the same character or reach into the future though, which I'll need to note. Also should be noted that best body and mind is more based on your preferences, if you're after them in a younger form or particular mindset.

It's the Villain capstone perk in A Practical Guide to Evil.

> Deconstruction (600): Do you know the worst part of being a Villain? Not knowing
you’re going to lose, no. It’s that the Heroes didn’t deserve to win. If the heroes deserved their
victories, perhaps you could make peace with it. But they don’t, do they? That’s always the way
of it. At the last moment they’re taught a secret spell by a dead man, or your mortal weakness is
revealed to them or they somehow manage to master a power in a day that would take a villain
twenty years to learn. You loath it. And so you do not permit it. In any situation that your
existence would be relevant, the plot armor of your enemies simply fails as you force realism
upon the world, and force it to equalize. Morality, last second burst of strength, plot armor, all of
that means nothing to you. There will be no mysterious mentors teaching your foes your one
weakness, no absolute willpower that keeps them moving after you’ve killed them, no training sessions that grant them years of growth in a day... no. They will meet you alone and armed only with what they have earned.

>>55216860
It's...probs pretty minor compared to everyone else's gripes, but I always thought Earthbenders could eventually overcome not being able to bend pure enough metals like platinum with a good enough understanding of chemistry.

It just kinda stands out to me in a setting where lightningbending's been commercialised, there's one really good Earthbender who can now lavabend and one airbending scrub can rip the air out of lungs, you know?

>>55213686
I've always thought the Treasure Planet solar sail-ships were rather pretty. Because they're shaped and move like 18th century sailboats, but can sail in reasonable time to nearby planets-well enough to skirt the edges of black holes. Sails all glowey when going interstellar.

Also the Narada from Star Trek, which I'd find more believable as a former "mining vessel" if it was piloted by Dwarf Fortress dorfs.
>>
LoK and Gurren Lagann are both being updated because I never really cared for the restrictions that were put on them in the first place now just seems like the best time to do. I've never really had a problem with jumpers getting unlimited power, I'm sorry if I've been unclear about that.

>>55217236
I would suggest having the Spirit stay at the price it is now but with it giving you both a version of the Avatar State and the option of buying the bending perk multiple times for multiple elements.

That or just Twilight and Dark Scenarios too, that was a fun idea.
>>
So would it be fair to stay that I'd just to have an A++ in my servant build to have a proper Gate of Babylon, or would I need to combine it with Golden Rule A or some other skills to have a similar fortune of items?
>>
>>55217236
I do like the idea of >>55217324
with the Twilight Spirit being able to either purchase, or somehow obtain in jump, the multiple bending styles as per Raava.
>>
>>55217323
You mean SB being the opposite of BS?

I know it was wrong.

I had to anyway.
>>
>>55217351
You can't have a filled gate, so it wouldn't be fair.
>>
>>55217236
800 CP seems way too expensive but I'm not sure how you would balance the jump if it was cheaper. Doing a scenario seems like the best way but maybe options for which spirit you are tied to? The whole Twilight avatar idea was pretty cool.
>>
>>55217351
You can buy an empty gate fairly cheap, and I imagine putting in a more 'normal' treasure horde wouldn't cost much at all. Buying Noble Phantasm's, or enchanted items that can actually do something? Those you have to buy separately.
>>
>>55217236
I'd personally rather you keep it as a Twilight Spirit. Regardless of whether it's through a scenario, replacement option, or to become an avatar.
>>
>>55217351
You can't get the filled GoB because it's basically every other Noble Phantasm ever. If what you want is to be like Gilgamesh then you want to buy an empty "treasury" GoB and then grab EX rank Collector to give you ludicrous fortune when it comes to finding rare and powerful stuff. Then just wander around and collect thousands of powerful magical weapons and items from random yard sales and roaming beaches with a metal detector.
>>
>>55217361
>>55217380
>>55217396
That sounds fair enough. A Gate and some time with Collector EX sounded more reasonable, but I figured I'd get a second opinion on the easier option.
>>
>>55217236
Not sure about any of this avatar perk/scenarios stuff but is there any chance you could reduce the prices of the bending specializations? A while back it was made clear that the whole Genetic exclusive bending thing was nonsense so they are just perks that give you a talent for and head start on the bending's specialized uses.

Also if buying the specializations will give you an in to those of other elements with the avatar scenario/perk perhaps make them three perks give you different things based on the element(s) you have access to?
>>
>>55217411
You'll probably need a lot more time than what anon seems to think though if you're aiming for NP level stuff.
>>
>>55217411
It might not be as flamboyant but you'll probably end up even stronger than Gilgamesh is because you have EX rank Collector and access to a much bigger pool of systems than he does. Gilgamesh might have a lot of powerful weapons and equipment but you have the opportunity to collect tons of stuff from literally hundreds of different universes. With EX rank Collector you'll probably end up with a much larger and more varied collection of stuff than Gilgamesh has.

I'd imagine so, yeah. The only other person with EX rank Collector is Gilgamesh and his Gate of Babylon literally comes from the fact that single-handedly collected the fruits of human civilization (i.e. everything and everyone of any significance at all) during his lifetime.

That's not to say that you're guaranteed to do the same. Gilgamesh did it through sustained effort over the course of his lifetime and his world was much smaller. But that's the kind of shit that EX rank Collector allows for.

...I have a really dumb fan theory sort of related to that.

You know at the very end of Kara no Kyoukai's LN Mikiya and his sis are talking about the True Magics, she says they're all things humans consider impossible, then Mikiya says that means the last True Magic yet to be discovered is the one that will make everyone happy and she looks shocked?

What if the eternal recurrence of harem protagonists existing throughout all of time and space IS that True Magic? What if they've all been using it subconsciously using fragments of it all along?

Anyway like I said that's even dumber than Buddha being a beast so if you're reading this Nasu, please don't make this canon. Just, don't. Show mercy, I'm already 90% sure Merlin is gonna be Beast VII

Hey! I take offence to that!

Also to be fair Gudao/Gudako's on the verge of waifuing all their Servants anyway, which lets him bring out their full potential and be a great team player for teams that normally shouldn't work. So there's a non-zero chance that could actually end up being a net boon

You know, arguable that wasn't a positive thing at all; actually it was a major fuck-up. Spirits are invaders from another dimension and are collosal dicks who are also pretty fuckin' selfish.
If you can, please remove this requirement, please; I'd like to take this option but it feels contrary to the idea of making the world a better place.

>>
>>55217987
Hm, true, since they need to willingly join, it's hardly losing anything to have non companions split that way.

I'll say that companions can stay in this hybrid form, even beyond the limit, but leaving it will instantly put any that go beyond the active limit back into stasis.

Thanks anon, that's a cool way to handle it.

I guess that may work the way it's written but it does seem to against the spirit. Although, on reflection unsealing them just to put them in another seal seems pointless since it denies the basic premise of 'positive change'; it's just neutral because you negate yourself.
In any case I'd just rather overlook that specific requirement and maybe compensate elsewhere. Spirits (even Raava until she warmed up to Wan) are dicks and the best thing Wan did was seal the portals between worlds to keep those jerks away from humanity.
I don't like houseruling things like that though, so I really hope KOTOR_anon sees my post and considers a change to the proposed perk.

i wasn't worried about that, with my speed, strength and marial arts skills as well as my hight tier regeneration, i still just have problems with magic/supternatural stuff, since i am currently building a chain solely based on martial arts/shonen stories

There are, but punching and kicking never goes out of style. Like, Mori's (the Monkey King reincarnated as a korean teenager, basically) main powers amount to duplication and being REALLY strong/fast/good at taekwondo, and he smashes his way through gods that can electrify most of the planet.

He's one of, if not the, strongest character in the story though. Like, by expanding and contracting his staff he can smash a planet. One of the more powerful human characters can tank getting punched into another continent, and run back to punch Zeus in the face-while two of the more powerful gods pushed back Jupiter after Satan tossed it at Mori.

There are conceptual traps and such to watch out for-and the idea of stealing life energy to powerup keeps cropping up. But punching dudes seems to be more energy efficient than charging a thing that can seal supernatural powers.

Barbadium IS a great asset, it took Mori and a bunch of his clones repeatedly whacking the dude made of it with their staffs until they could make a think big enough to kill him by rapidly expanding chunks of the cloned staffs in his body. It may not sound like much, but Mori's practically onepunched gods which were otherwise more powerful than that guy. You probably just want to pick up the bullshit taekwondo or one of the zannier charyeoks to compensate for the relative lack of mobility that ended him.

>>55218250
There's only 2-3 guys I can think of that might: The magician's user, the traitorous dude whose version of the Joker charyeok can potentially reflect your own attacks at 100x power back at you and Eve wish granting one.

>>55217871
...I think a lot of it's problems could've been solved if it was stretched out over a longer season, instead of cramming all these bombs into 10 episodes. There was plenty of good, it's just the showdown with Aku happened almost right after a bunch of practically Akuless plots.

Also, YES AND YES

>There's not concept or insta killing shit that could just ignore the barbadium

Actually, Dae Wae accidentally pulled Mars to the Earth, Uriel tried and failed utterly to stop it, and 666 thought that it looks fun, so he pulled Jupiter to Earth and it took Hui and Dae Wae everything they had to push it back using the Staff.

Mind control? I think it's only the most powerful member of Nox's bishops' charyeoks (who uses an older, better form of charyeoks) has that-and since as an organization they were maintained by the gods to control humanity, that probably means it's rare even among the more powerful deities. I don't think any other character's demonstrated it, and it doesn't really come up in the fight they have with him before he gets punched/blown up a bunch. And later backstabbed. And finally zapped by Zeus.

As for soul stealing, depending on what you mean, there's the Greeds which can leach of life energy to steal your powers, and there's Ark which takes a long time to charge and can be disrupted. That's about it, unless you count Mori's gourd which can physicall banish you inside of it-and which even the guy made of barbadium couldn't break with his bare hands.

>>55218319
Oh right, whoops. Mixed up those planets.

>>55218339

>Cause And Effect (900, Drop-In)
This, running in concert with Path to Victory, will let me use it more effectively. Not only will I see the path I need to take, but I'll know the results of taking that path. If something undesirable might happen because of it - and face it, unless I throw a book's worth of restrictions on the path, it's going to look at the most efficient way to do a thing. Which is a part of why I don't use it very often, frankly.
>The Machine (300)
Well, it's not SHODAN, at least - an AI, but not rampant. And probably not wanting to be a god despite what a certain hacker likes to think.
>Friends (0)
Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends.

So... this is essentially a modern day setting with the possibility of a surveillance based dystopia around the corner.

You know what's really fucking scary? That it's better than the alternative.

I'm serious. Think about it. When I start here in 2011, surveillance is a hot button issue. But from a world five to ten years down the line, what are the real concerns? Domestic terrorism, riots, rogue nations, rampant corruption. This thing can deal with three out of the four. And probably the fourth if you let it go full Skynet, but nobody's that crazy in almost any world. Well, except for one, anyway, and the less said about that world the better.
>>
>>55218319
What about Jupiter's moons?
>>
>>55218377
So... basically, the Machine is a nascent AI, but nobody knows how to really deal with it. And so I just move myself into the plot a bit - it needs to basically learn things that can't just be coded into it. A framework for morality can be programmed in, sure, but building it from its own experience is quite different. I'm largely going to be standing aside while the plot happens. Since I can interface with technology from anywhere on the planet, I'll be there to answer its questions, but I'll make it clear that unless there's an imminent danger, I'm staying on the sidelines. This confuses the hell out of the thing, but I point out that I'm not from around here in more ways than one - and while following your programming in order to prevent human fatalities is a noble pursuit, trying to prevent all crime is a fool's errand.

Still, this thing puts a dent in the crime rate of New York City, so that's a hell of a thing.

Things get a lot more intense a few years in... and seeing the plans, I take action. The Machine goes underground. Samaritan... well, it gets a mercy killing. That is, a stack overflow, then unrecoverable crash that fries the neural net. And every backup they bring online, for some reason, crashes faster every time it's compiled and brought online. And then the backups corrupt themselves and the source code turns out to be overwritten with junk data.

Shame.

Root's a nice lady, though, so I made sure she didn't die and instead got sprung from the hospital in a series of hilarious coincidences that beggar belief. Before I left, I took her out to lunch with my companions, so that she could see the difference between an intelligent being with access to a lot of information, and actual gods. Because man, she goes on about this machine being a god entirely too much.

The Machine tagged along when I left - we'd had some very interesting discussions that it wanted to continue, and it wanted to see whether it could do good on other worlds as well.

Yeah, it's really not. For one, that's so far beyond their power levels that it'd be just silly. Mori's multiplier technique would need to be a whole lot higher than 250,000 to affect the entire universe.

Heck, if we want to get technically, there's no reason it has any real relation to destructive power since there was no real damage to anything but Satan. It's more likely that it was just the overwhelming power blinding everyone than it turning everything off and then somehow recreating the universe.

later on in the jump or later on in my chain?
>>
>>55218593
I stole The Machine via social engineering (and paying a buttload of points). But I gave Samaritan brain cancer, yes.

The people behind Samaritan dreamed of brain cancer, a cosmic ray flipping a bit, that could as easily have flipped a bit that changed the value of a human life to zero. They got the message.

Also I poked people in the right places - AI research was more regulated after that point, and I made sure to screw with things so a legal precedent was created when it comes to digitally searching records at ridiculous speeds. Which was challenged and taken to the supreme court in record speed, and upheld.

It had the beneficial side effect of outlawing traffic cameras and officers who hold those stupid cameras that give out tickets en masse.
>>
>>55218624
Well, with just what you have in jump, it'd be later in the chain. Depending on what you bring in you could grow fast enough to do it in jump.
>>

>>55218638
>Depending on what you bring in you could grow fast enough to do it in jump.

how does one "grow" faster? Cultivation? Training perks? broken limiter?
>>
>>55218672
I believe the jump details it but it's basically just improving your life energy/chi/chakra. Just train that and the powers connected to it will improve better, so anything that allows you to train those faster will improve your growth.

>>55218662
Wisdom grows on it's own speed, detailed in it's description I believe.
>>
>>55218693

Can i absorb the life force of a god?

thank you for your patience with me trying to powercreep my way here, Val!
>>
>>55218727
Probably not. You don't permanently gain that energy added to your max and the amount you can take in at once will be limited by what your actual power level is at. Just temporarily taking in a lot of energy won't boost that max of yours and while you could take life energy from people, eventually you'd just hit a point where you're taking in so little of their max that they just kill you while you're trying to drain them.

Give me your harem perks/combos. All of them.

So, I'm writing up a jump now, and I'm currently thinking a set of four backgrounds. Hero, Trainer, Damsel, and Demon.

Except then there's Drop-In, for which I don't really have a good niche. I can throw in some stuff for them that doesn't fit the other backgrounds, but that won't nearly be enough to fill out it entirely.

So it comes down to... would people prefer a bit of a grab-bag of Drop-In things, with things that might've fit in the other backgrounds along with the stuff that doesn't fit anywhere? Or should I just give every background the option to drop in without a history, and put the stuff that doesn't fit one of the backgrounds in as undiscounted stuff?
>>
>>55218693
For Dies Irae, will there be a perk for being a freakish super genius like Shirou, and being able to master even the most ridiculously complicated/esoteric bs with absurd speed? Cause that boy literally went to Yetzirah as soon as he grabbed a Relic. Even Ren took weeks for that.
>>
>>55218792
I prefer the former, lotta times thats what drop-ins are anyway
>>
>>55218797
Well, I imagine that was more that he already had loads of souls in his new relic but yeah, there's stuff based on him being talented at everything.
>>
>>55218792
Giving the option of drop-in has become more common lately. Ultimately, if you can't fill out a tree for them that may be the way to go.

If you can however, give it a try. Drop-in is often an odd collection of options, and it seems to work well like that.
>>
>>55218809
I'm not talking about powerlevels, more about his ridiculous learning rate. Like Ren had to nearly get his hand blown off just to get to Assiah. And then took a while longer to get to Yetzirah. Meanwhile his Relic, Marie, has at least as much power as that load of souls, and potentially way more if Marie wasn't half-assing everything for plot reasons.
Compared to how incredible Ren is supposed to be, Shirou's mastery of it with what support he has is downright scary.

>>55218935
No, I know that he does it, I just can't remember why he's able to do it. Reinhard can because it's his Rule but Ren's rule is all about time bullshit, so I can't remember why Ren can copy Reinhard's legion stuff.

Well, I can share the first perklines I have done for Katana but I won't share raw notes which is what Dies Irae and the rest of Katana are right now.

https://pastebin.com/2rfG5avx Wild Man perks for Katanagatari. Based on Shichika and Nanami and papa Yasuri.
>>
>>55218882
That's just a thing Hadou/Hegemony Gods can do. It's actually kind of lame, since being able to absorb souls and use powers skills and memories of those people was what made Reinhard's Ber'iah unique and scary. Speaking of, will we be able to get a Ber'iah as powerful as Gladsheimr? Cause that thing is practically a mini-Atziluth, with everything it can do and how strong it is. It can also do the Legion boost but that's more explicit from an untranslated spin-off. Kind of implied with the whole Einherjar deal though.
>>
>>55218914
So the machine mutant capstone is like General Rildo, where you can just turn an entire mechanical planet into your body?

What about Baby's thing where he can infect people?
>>
>>55218957
Goku when?
>>
>>55218957
Boosted gear
>>
>>55218961
Yeah, that's a shame. It really fits Reinhard and having it just be something anyone can do kinda lames it out.

Reinhard's Gladsheimr or things on that level of power and versatility are the highest power tier of Rule you can buy, so you'll be able to get it if you're willing to pay. It'll be either 600 or 800? Not sure yet.

>>55218970
Baby's stuff is going to be the 400 in one of the Origin perklines, the Avenger origin.
>>
>>55218970
Also, yeah, the MM cap is pretty much just Rildo only for any material that you yourself are made of.
>>
>>55218958
>Swordbreaker

Oh boy, there are lots of settings where that thing can be really fun.

>>55218979
>>55218961
Aren't both Reinhard and Ren somehow part/scions of Mercurius due to Hadou shenanigans?
>>
>>55218914
>Manly Monkey Man
Is that giving you the potential to make SSJ4.2 and SSJ4.3 in addition to the anger/SSJ4/Oozaru stuff?
>>
>>55218957
>get some perk that let's you absorb technology into yourself (technovore from the avengers, upgradable from futurama, the one perk from alpha centauri)
>get a high tier energy draining perk (nanomaster from iji is a good one)
>get the dark star generator and/or the paragon generator from supreme commander (it gives you infinite energy scaling with demand)
>get the universal adapter from storm hawks (energy conversion from one form of energy to the other no matter how esotheric; so you can turn electricity/heat to chi/chakra/mana.....)
>get the artificial cosmic cube from the avengers (it let's you store infinite energy into it)
>now absorb all this technology into yourself

you can now produce and store literally infinite amounts of chi into yourself as well as absorb/drain all kinds of energy (even chi) and turn it to other forms of energy.
You just surpassed goku and every other non-god in the dragonball universe
>>
>>55218957
Offer to buy him a meal since you're a big fan of his.
Put enough sleeping drugs in the food to knock out x+1 elephants (where x=age of Goku)
Kill him (surprisingly easy when he doesn't have his guard up)
Use Codicia from Bleach to eat him
>>
>>55219010
Nah, just SS4, especially for new modes made with the perk. If you want to fanwank that SS4 can potentially go SS5 through that fan theory, that's up to you. I do like the theory (That Golden and SS4 are just SS and SS2 used in Oozaru form) but it's definitely not canon confirmed.
>>
>>55218984
It's a real shame Rildo ended up being a jobber once Goku got serious. Really makes all the Machine Mutants to ultimately have been a non-threat.
>>
>>55219035
Yeah, going out to one attack after all his boasts made him a bit of a bitch. Especially since he was kinda cool before that.
>>
>>55218979
Personally, I'd say it should either be free for the lowest tier, then 200, 400, 600 or have a small stipend and 200,400,600, 800. That way you can separate the literally who Briah's (Kei), to the useful ones (Tubal Cain, Bey, Ren), from the bullshit ones (Machina, Schreiber), and then have a final tier for Reinhard, which is so much stronger that it can functions as a permanent state/location, instead of some temporary super mode like literally every other Briah.
>>
>>55219010
you can take the perk from dragonball AF if you want to go beyond SSJ4
it let's you go SSJ1-ad infinitum, depending on how much you trained..(you lose that progress though once you slack off with the level of training that brought you there, but i'm sure there's other perks that prevent that)
>>
>>55219047
Yeah, the former is pretty much exactly the way I've set it out. You've even got the same tiers as me. Kei level, which is really just the Fire Fire Fruit Logia, is free and everything above is 200 more.
>>
>>55219032
Seems I misread the bit about other forms like Oozaru, not just Oozaru. So you can turn not!Oozaru into not!SSJ4?
>>
>>55219004
Reinhard is the Satan to his God, and Ren is Mercurius's self-insert in the shitty play he wrote. Given that Mercurius is basically reality itself, they and everything else are part of him yeah.
>>
>>55219065
Yeah, that's the intention. Any super mode or transformation that turns you into a monster in the physical or mental sense, or both, can be given a SS4 variant.
>>
>>55219016
>You just surpassed goku and every other non-god in the dragonball universe
you can become a kai in the dbz jump, so you could also weild godly ki. With the method you described, that would put you just beneath the angels and zeno (which you can't surpass just that way, with their time fuckery and concept/universe ereasure stuff)
>>
>>55219041
I feel like them draining Goku's stamina for his transformations had the opposite of the intended effect. Instead of making him weaker so the villains could ramp up again instead of all being Buu-level, it just encouraged them to have Goku one-shot villains instead of having a real fight.
>>
>>55219071
For the only one I know about from other jumps off the top of my head, the hybrid from PacRim could become Super Hybrid 4, with some traits of the Kaiju form on an otherwise human body, a la Oozaru fur on normal body. That is really cool.
>>
>>55219086
Probably one of the worst bits of GT was how they mishandled the deaging, with some things he had being reduced but others not and all that weird shit. Definitely started getting better when it either didn't focus on Goku or he had SS4 so we could have proper fights again.
>>
>>55219100
Yeah, sounds pretty awesome. Pretty sure there's loads of Kaiju human pics out there.
>>

>>

Sure, but that's not going to go any faster than it is here. Basically, despite AI being more easily possible there, they were basically lobotomized at the level of very good expert systems because otherwise it would completely annihilate the economy. This is a bad thing. If you don't believe me, have a look at OUR economy now versus twenty years ago, in the changes of automation versus the jobs out there.

>>55219269

>>
>>55219245
basically yes, but a little more advanced, since they still have a finite amount of energy they can tap into at any given moment, while they still technically produce infinite chi over time. The only thing that changes is that they get to tap into more energy at any given time the older they get (that's why android 17 is now so strong in db super even though he didn't do shit in several years)
>>
>>55219268
I roll dice for stupid-bullshit-accident-powers. It feels fairer that way.
>>
>>55219270
It's designed for OC stuff, actually. The tiers mentioned are just the levels of power of your rule. You can pick any sort of power that fits you and the tier you purchase governs how much that Rule can do and how many abilities it has and so on. So if you want fire powers, you can just get the ability to make and turn into fire for free or pay higher and maybe go into like...burning away time or concepts or other bullshit.

The hilarious part is when I make a computer a Pretender and the Center can't find my warehouse.

Pretenders, huh? Sounds like Freelancer's Talents gone wild. Maybe they are able to learn and adapt a little more quickly, but it sounds like it's not worth the trouble for me to get involved in the main plot, because these morons are chasing their own tails instead of doing anything worthwhile and they'll be doing it for years without sufficient interaction. No, we're going for a different target altogether: the Center that's hunting Jarod down.
>>
This is a question for other jumpmakers:
how often has making a jump caused you to go back and re-watch/read old series/movies/books that you loved?
>>
>>55219292
>That's why 17 is so strong
Pretty sure that's just training, since they are able to train to get stronger, not that they automatically improve as they age.
>>
>>55219307
The Machine (or Mac, as we like to call him) is a permanent resident of the Warehouse, but he's interfaced with some next level technology in there, including a biocomputer. Which has the ability to cast spells (generally clairvoyance and scrying type stuff). And instead of going full Orwellian nightmare in an attempt to get things done, he instead directed his abilities toward tracking Jarod briefly, and then backtracked along the route that the Center's operatives took, to find the place. And then get into its data, that which was accessible, and put together a nice packet of data which he leaked to the government through certain digital intermediaries.

Some agencies utterly flipped their shit, while others tried to bury it. Seeing the CIA, DIA, FBI, NSA, IRS, the Pentagon, and a few other alphabet soup agencies try to decide what the hell to do was kind of hilarious, but they ended up basically annexing the Center because Mac threatened to release all of the information to the media. As in every single newspaper, television station, and radio station in North America.

Sure, the Center had government ties, but those can only help so much. On the plus side, having an organization full of savants is pretty positive, even if you have to reunite them with their families and give them basic human rights.

Also I might have shown up halfway through the second season and smacked Jarod with a paperback-sized book and yelled at him about wasting his goddamn time playing cat and mouse with his girlfriend instead of actually doing what he claimed to be doing, as I got all of the information in said book in the space of about three weeks, without using magic or mind reading, just old fashioned detective work.

Idiot savant much? Or is it just the plot demanding everyone constantly carry the idiot ball?

You know that Heavengazer Tower that lets you get up to 1000x time in it? That Tower was able to do that all because of the formations, I think you can also create sentient golems who can guard things for you along with formations that attack anyone who enters an area.

Think wards and that gives you a good idea of what they can do and how to treat them.
Basically they can be used to create fields where things within or outside can be affected regarding the internal area; mostly used for illusions and trapping, formations are capable of being used offensively or defensively also.
Formations are also the foundation for many other fields, like making magic weapons and golems. Skill in formations and constructs go hand-in-hand hence why you get them together in the jump.

Ok so like if I draw out formations on some armor for basic buffs like strength, speed, and defensive sheild what would the low and high ends normally be? Im trying grok how varied and powerful they can be.

So what Im getting is that its high power freeform enchanting. Is that about right?

>i mean theoretically i have the world and my whole life as my playthings and i get bored nevertheless. I guess you're right:
In one sense you're kinda right, mostly though you're kind of a tool. Those two situations cannot be compared, they're a false equivalence, because in the real Earth situation there may be any number of things that you'd find beneficial, edifying, or entertaining that you cannot do due to scarcity, access, etc.

In the Q scenario you're only limited by your imagination. So, not the anon you replied to, but, yes if you're given perfect freedom, ie unlimited power or close to, and unlimited time and you get bored it's completely on you.

Twat.

You're limited by your body, physics, those around you...

The only limitation that Q's seem to have are their peers, and even then they are not usually active. It took a real long time of Q being a dick to everyone for they to punish him.

How would that even work with different chain orders?

It's basically an abstract representation of being such a genius you changed the world with your inventions or otherwise doing something thought impossible, so it's purposefully kinda weird and vague.

I don't think it HAS done anything meaningful in Fate, because the people use it aren't the kind to 1v1 the main villains, like Da Vinci or Tesla.

It's like Divinity (which potentially does a lot more than break through defences): It's one of those skills that exists mostly for fluff purposes. Also like Divinity, I suspect it enhances anything done in the field you're representing; Servants with Divinity like Karna and Achilles tend to be even buffer than what their base characteristics suggest, and Tamamo's magic completely ignores magic resistance. Also, she could turn into a sun goddess at the cost of ego death and her discarded tails can become independant Servants.

Emil is a nice kid who deserves hugs not a demon.

As you may have guessed from Emil being a skeleton man with an evil looking skeleton head he will need lots of hugs.

Hard to say he never really talks much. He usually shows up to drop his progress on the thread then runs off again. He should show up eventually.
