It really isn't that hard. Your archers are pretty decent, so make use of them. Put foot squires and fanatics in towers. Use peasant mobs to soak up enemy arrow fire and artillery. Grail Guardians and Questing knights can do a great job smashing into the city once the gates are down. Pegasus and Hyppogriffs can engage on the walls, just wait until their archers are distracted.

Bronze doesn't snap, it bends and doesn't retain an edge very well. Tempered steel is better weapons because it's springy and retains its shape, but in exchange it rusts and can actually shatter under too much pressure.

Bronze was popular in its time because, even if it did bend, you could just bend/hammer it back into shape, and it lasts forever.

Bronze wasn't really that different in terms of a weapon/tool material from early iron/steel.

The main benefit of iron, at least until metallurgy advanced to the point of high carbon steel, was that you didn't need two seperate metals to make it, both of which tend to be found in geographically distant areas.

Iron wasn't some super-material that made drastically better spearheads, it was just cheap as shit so you could equip an entire army with them instead of just twenty guys.

Technically now there is an RoR that basically are Halberd-armed Foot Squires.

But really, I don't find them that bad. If you support them properly, or give them a Grail Reliquae, or just make good use of Battle Pilgrims to give them some real backbone, you're all set. And don't use any of the units with the 'expendable' trait if you can ever avoid it.

If sieges are still giving you trouble, pack some Pegasus Knights. They can really help with taking the walls where sheer force of numbers and desperation doesn't. But you should really be focusing on the gates, with the walls as an afterthought to help make use of units and distract arrows from your knights waiting until the gates are down.
