I have a bunch of different 'styles' that I listen to depending on what I'm trying to write. Certain settings get their own playlists, although they tend to be rather short. It's an eclectic mix generally because I'm shit at finding music on my own.

Action scenes tend to get Hiroyuki Sawano soundtracks mixed with trailers, of all things, primarily Ace Combat.

Like, the original, mythical version was a villain who was behind a lot of horrible things, such as enchanting a king and starting a reign of terror, manipulating a crown prince as his concubine to behead a thousand men, possessing a concubine of another king, and weaving her way into the Imperial Court as a woman who could answer any question in order to get close enough to weave magic and make the Emperor deathly ill and most likely kill him. It wasn't until much later that she was described as being repentant, and that was after the stone she was in released poisonous gas that killed many innocents and right before she was about to be exorcised anyway. It's quite possible she wasn't really repentant and was lying so she could get off easier.

With all that in mind, Fate Tamamo NOT acting evil would be weird. At least Nero was cool with the common people.

In CORE, the extreme power level of the canon characters God, Trihexa, Great Red and Ophis was explained as them being incarnate aspects of reality. Creation, Destruction, Dreams and Infinity, respectively. Which is sort of canon, Great Red and Ophis being those things is, at least, and you could make an argument for God and Trihexa. Not too much OC, there. Then in Rise several other new Aspects have arisen, including the protagonist who is the Aspect of Conflict. It's the in-character reason for why he's powerleveling so much, because Conflict is a really easy concept to draw power from by doing protagonist things and opposing villains.

Had a bit of trouble with this one. When it's a franchise I don't know, I can do some googling and research to get a handle on the aesthetic, but what I found was super hard to pin down, so I ultimately pulled a slide from a clip I saw and recreated it.

I read a few summaries and shit but I couldn't figure out what the fuck was going on, so I sort of just winged the descriptions. I'm going to Neptunia next and I am intimately familiar with that series so maybe it'll be better than this.

Depends on what I'm trying to do. The Log Horizon build, for example, isn't directly based on a single image, but rather was me attempting to recreate the in-game UI. Thankfully, it's UI is pretty damn simple, hexagons with some lighter edges, so I could just create a background based on this image. Then, it was a matter of looking up screenshots that showed the menus and roughly reconstructing them. The item section in the build, for example, is actually a modified version of a cooking menu, I think?

For this one, however, it wasn't something geometrical that I can recreate (I actually can't draw, I just work with vectors and masking), so I grabbed a snip from the trailer I saw and livetraced it. Then I masked out the center and put in a few details to make the middle feel less empty. The pattern is actually the same one I used in Harry Potter, and it's really just there to break up a mono color background.

Harry Potter was sort of the prototype for all of this, it's really just a blank page with some images thrown on to look slightly less terrible. No real design philosophy there, just a build.

So. Prana is a catch-all term for magical energy. Mana is the magical energy in the area (there's lots of it, but it recovers slowly) while od is the magical energy produced by the person (comparatively not much of it, recovers fairly quickly, can cause injuries if access badly.)

That aside, it should be noted that even divine swords show up inside UBW. The problem is, their quality and cost (for projection outside of UBW) are both affected by how well he comprehends their manufacture and history. He also lacks the ability to produce enough prana to make use of them to their fullest - Unleashing an excaliblast would almost certainly kill him before he managed to fire.

Illya (all versions, including Kuro) is the Lesser Grail of the Fifth Grail War, even if there isn't one. Remember that she had enough od to maintain Berserker long before the Greater Grail took up any of the slack. This is ridiculous levels of power already, on par with Arturia's Heart.

She's also an actually trained magus, which Shirou is most certainly not.

Sure, there might be a few people but...unless Ainz knows to do that and go for just instant death spells, I really don't think he'll last. And even if he does, his survival is pretty much purely luck based until he finds someone he can't get to stand there and tank his shots, since anyone returning fire, even if they die from his fire, will kill him with ease.

Actually, I didn't really do much. Laid low for the first three years. When the Pentawizard Playoffs happened, I flexed my metaphorical dick and wiped the floor with the playoffs and concurrent dueling tournament. Fifth year, I used my reputation as someone not to be fucked with in order to whip everyone into shape. Granted, it was mainly because I could, since sixth year I told Dumbles where all the horcruxes were, so he took care of them. Seventh year was chill, basically I just knocked off and knocked up until Voldie invaded.

Turns out, tank does beat everything.

At the risk of being called a powerwanker, maybe we should revisit Multiverse?

At the time it was made, "you have to win the tournament" was considered a balance for the powerlevels it offered, but this seems somewhat unnecessary now that we have multiple Dragon Ball jumps. At the very least, maybe add a 0 CP option for a gauntlet-style "you start with 0 CP but have to take drawbacks to get more, and you don't get sent home if you lose but also don't get to keep what you bought here unless you win."

This is only partially motivated by my desire to do a DB->Z->Super->Multiverse->GT->AF chain that ultimately leaves me physically ill at the thought of training.

Often unavoidable. Even if you make efforts to not have spoilers in the doc itself, people may just discuss it openly in thread anyway. And some things may be innate spoilers just knowing of their existence, yet be important enough to be weird to leave out of the doc. And then any dangerous or hazard spoilers probably get screamed about sooner than later, so you might as well mention those.

Basically, I reckon if you're reading the jump of something, you're prepared for the fact it may contain spoilers.

Jumps very, very often have spoilers in them. It's near-unavoidable, and not something you should worry about.

Personally, I don't have a preference between those two. Depends on which one's more flavorful, I suppose? Copying things and one-ups aren't really something I'm interested in myself.

It depends on what the spoiler is, and how essential it is to know about it for the perk or items. If the spoiler underpins the whole idea of one of the perks, there's just no avoiding it.

Personally I try to keep spoilers blacked out in the notes, so that they're there if people want them, but not casually displayed for the people who are skimming the jump and decide "hey this is interesting, I should read/watch/play the source material first".

Eg: I originally intended to keep spoilers out of the end of the Matthew Reilly Universe jump notes, but when it was in WIP some of the anons I showed the draft to said they preferred to be able to look up those points in the jump, to be sure they could handle the setting rather than have to look shit up on tvtropes.
