Hey /tg/, Ive been thinking about using more atmospheric music in my games. Figured Id make a thread where people can fish for suggestions and post stuff they've used in the past. Right now Im having real trouble finding a city-theme for these dudes in my setting who are basically Byzantines if they never admitted defeat and continued to demand taxes from their former subjects in a massive mountain fort.
Ive actually found a lot of good stuff I plan on using, but until I at least have themes for all the major cities Im not going to start using it.
Anybody here working on a soundtrack for their own game?
I am using for medieval setting this soundtrack https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugLwYV1GSvo&t=163s

Queen stuff from the 70s is always a fun choice. I'm also a fan of Helloween, particularly their Keeper of the Seven Keys albums. Good shit.
I never really play music during games, though. The above choices are just stuff I listen to while writing scenarios and the like.
I suppose the soundtrack from Shadow of the Colossus would work for fight scenes. The Opened Way played through my head every time I took a test back in uni, and I suppose it could work for fight scenes.
Go to cryochamber channel on youtube and go to town. It is all ambient but I find that best for playing while gaming otherwise it is distracting. Also useful are ambient noise channels for storms, rain snow etc.
