Megadungeon entrance, inside or outside town?

Mine has lots of entrances all over town going to different levels and zones.
The entrances are worth lots if money. Some are open to anyone who pays a fee others are private

Inside. Makes it easier to tax adventurers on the treasure they find.

The megadungeon is the party all along

monsters within are attacking the dungeon from the inside out, destroying walls and furnishing

game flips once they realise this and they have to clear the dungeon to save their own lives
