I don't know, flip that around and you have a pretty good excuse to have your players as a Dark Heresy-powerset cape team somewhere. You could have a techpriest tinker, Psyker, some kind of megadetective Inquisitor, some sharpshooter scum, etcetera. Tack on some slightly more warpy Case 53s and such and maybe a Chaos team of cultists to scrap with and I'd probably play that.

I think I did read a fanfic once where Taylor becomes a Chaos Undivided champion and beats up Hookwolf with a Khornate Power Baseball Bat, among other things. It was actually pretty good.

At the end of each round food is judged and one competitor is eliminated. No one is ever sure what Takahashi's commentary is since Japanese seems not to have survived the wasteland.

Ages ago, as they wandered the lands and got caught in a terrifying cosmic event, an eclipse,s the tribes discovered the ruins of an ancient peoples and found within the depths of their temple-tombs knowledge of a cosmic cycle in which the 'gods' must be fed with bloody sacrifice to appease one side of an ancient pact in which the 'gods' will defend against the hordes of nameless star demons. If it is not met, the gods will let the sky go dark in eclipse and the star demons will descend to consume the living.

It would seem it has been thousands of years since the pact was upheld, so the tribes took over the rites of the ancient civilization and began sacrifice to appease the gods as eclipses continued assailing the land. An intricate and powerful priesthood rose to control the people and sacrificial rites, creating an empire that has begun enslaving the people's of neighbouring lands to sate the gods' bloodthirst. Discovered, too, was the power of the heart, man's own star, and relics the gods bestowed upon their favoured priests. The eclipses have not stopped but some have been held at bay by Nights of Sacrifice, when the holy warriors of the priesthood go out into the streets and slay wantonly, and usage of the relics of the priesthood. The priests have no idea why the eclipses are still going on and most assume the pact was broken, but what else is there to do? Plus, they have such control and power themselves. Monsters may be leaking down from the sky, but they have it good.

The gods are in fact powerful star demons themselves who sought easy sustenance and power from a weak and frightened humanity, and reveled in bloodshed of their brethren, but they don't want you to know this.

I... can't really think of a way that this would go well at all.

XCOM is the extreme small scale view (on EVE level) of a planet in wormhole space being assailed by some particularly quirky variant of drifters. A capsuleer shows up halfway through the campaign, blasts the aliens out of the sky, razes most of their facilities with orbit to ground missile launches, and then cuts a deal with XCOM (the only remaining people on the planet that are spaceworthy) wherein they use their influence with the remainder of humanity to keep people from PANICKing, and in turn the capsuleer plunks down a bunch of shiny space tech and doesn't have to ship in people to man it and at the same time improves Earth's standard of living incredibly.

...Or I can't think of how it could possibly work the other way. Unless Admiral Bradford of the fallen Federation is rallying fighters to take it to the invasive Drifter menace

One of the iterations of DOOM's Hell spills out into the Marvel universe, resulting in all kinds of silly super hero vs surpisingly squishy demon shenanigans. Curiously, most of the damage has been inflicted with relatively conventional weaponry...
