It's just a little bit hard when the corebook is right there on the table, expounding the glories of playing gender-special characters, bringing X cards to the table to stymie roleplaying and actively trying to shoehorn male humans, especially white ones, into roles as cackling villains and useless cannon fodder.

Just like you can play any character you want in any game ever if you try hard enough, but if it's not supported by fluff, fewer ideas come up and there's less to draw from for inspiration. I honestly can't think of any good aligned or even prominent black male characters in Pathfinder.

You have Old Man Jatembe and that Paladin guy who banging the frodo baggins looking motherfucker in Way of the Wicked. You have the iconic Investigator(fun fact, the most common ethnicity among the iconics last I checked is Tien-min.) and that's it. Every other character I can think of is pretty much antagonistic.

To be entirely fair, while GURPS and Rolemaster are often used as jokes by people, they're actually fairly impressive systems with a good amount of depth to them.

Certainly one has to decide WHICH books they'll be using for a GURPS campaign since it has variants on everything, but if you select things properly, the results are not just fun but balanced in a way I've never seen anything based on the d20 system that came with third edition come even remotely close to pulling off.

(There's one that autoconfirms a crit, but it comes online later, and you still don't get to 1.5x stat to damage like with 2H weapons)

PoW can't make up for the difference between single attacks and full attacks, especially as it has boosts that affect all attacks done in a turn and its single-shot strikes are incompatible with vital strike and the such.

So. I won't talk about weapons though you can do fine even with a crossbow here; PoW's main schtick (which unfortunately can be turned into "yay even more damage") is letting one be combat-viable with only minimal investment of their feats and levels. A minotaur double crossbow sniper could do fine here even.

Now then: Your options are more numerous than you might think, but let's start with classes. Full Initiators are a given; among those Hawkguard Warders get a special mention. They get protection from provoking in melee early on, can use counters to shield the entire party, and have good stats and options all around. But an Aegis with initiator customs can make a great gunner while still letting you equip a shield, a stalker is fine too and can get insane crits, a Myrmidon gets access to all those mastery tricks, and a Warsoul is one of the only ways to make use of tech without wasting 10gp or more per shot taken in every round. Basically, you can do well with many things.

Your disciplines: Now the obvious ones are Solar Wind, Tempest Gale... But nearly everything in Elemental Flux works fine and if you'll be doing elemental damage from a tech weapon or solar wind, you want the resistance/immunity penetration feat or at least those high level E-Flux maneuvers anyways. Riven Hourglass offers fuckery of the action economy, even though it has some melee moves. Tempest Gale is EX, but it's also kinda shitty unless you want to build all around trick shots. Does offer one of the only ways around most counters and smash-from-the-air though.

Other disciplines can offer a bit; if it just says 'attacks' and not "melee attack" you're often fine.

Not sure which preview you looked at, but no, the meat of the race remains basically unchanged. Using a dwarf's body after death is sacrilege, and dead dwarves are enshrined in their base parts. Old dwarven clans will have rooms and vaults full of gems harvested from their ancestors.

What's the difference between the Bard and the Skald?

Mechanics wise a Skald is more combat oriented and STR based rather than DEX and a skald's support is a hit and miss considering that combined with a barbarian a skald is an invaluable support while to a wizard a skald is somewhat useless since raging means no spells. And while bards get more varied performances skalds get rage powers they can share and spell kenning.
Really it comes down to whether you want to be a DEX bard or a STR bard.

Fluff wise bards are more classic art, poetry and music oriented with varying between spies, diplomats and scholars while Skalds are more military oriented as commanders and morale boosters and have a greater emphasis towards oral traditions, history and being really really loud,

What makes you think that? Unless you're that dragon's first human lover they shouldn't get distraught over living longer than you. It's simply a matter of biology, like Elves (who are viciously monogamous, you wouldn't have a Goddess of Revenge if you didn't think cheating/adultery was the gravest of sins) they would "understand" some races don't live longer than others. They will cherish the time they spent with you and look after your children and their children's children, but they will move on.

I had a elf wizard once, only existing in backstories, he loved a human woman. He watched as his son died in battle, and watched over his granddaughter until she had children of her own. He held her hand on her death bed, crying the same tears as when his son died. It was around that generation you could barely tell if any elf had existed in the bloodline at all. But he kept going, watching, loving.

I've played a few characters who were his descendants. On a campaign that got canceled, I was told that my elf would of shown up again, after hundreds of years.

Imagine spending those centuries with family, but watching all of them die one after the other. I'd think each one would hurt more and more, as he drifts farther and farther from the time his love was alive.
