I've managed to project the illusion of competence for long enough to work my way up to a management position despite my astounding lack of actual skill, talent, or dedication. I have delegated almost every responsibility I had in this position over the last two years to the point where my job is basically non-existent, and everybody still compliments me on what a good job I am doing. 9 STR - Average. I visit the gym once a week, but mostly for cardio and legs.
10 DEX - Slightly above-average flexibility. In terms of physical exercise it's my preference over strength.
12 CON - Never had a broken bone or serious disease. At the same time, not strong enough to withstand serious pain.
13 INT - Math degree from a decent state school, currently near the top of my field but very limited in other fields (re: technical knowledge, sciences).

It makes more sense to assume that the entire population has a 3d6 intelligence distribution and determine your score by finding out what percentile you are in. For example, a person in the 99 percentile would be closest to 1 - 3/216 = 0.986111... which would give him a score of 17.

Even your average city guard has a stat spread way above 10/All. How is 10 in everything average when literally there's one stat block that adheres to that rule. Str: 15 (actually 9)

The standard deviation of the average does matter, but in dnd it's shown to be high enough, taking your average soldier to be... an average soldier. Hell, by dnd stats the average human nowadays probably has CON 11 or 12 due to better diet and medicine.

Making allowances for the Con score because my particular situation is an extreme edge case (the injury severely limits certain activites and not others, so the score would vary wildly depending on how Constitution was defined in a particular test), that's a fairly accurate test when accompanied by that rule of thumb. The two scores which aren't accurate to the range I posited (Wisdom and Charisma) are both still quite close, and they're on the scores which are hardest to actually meaningfully quantify in the first place.

Lads, I think my CHA score is glitched. I'm a sperg socially, I play /tg/, doing a PhD in hard science, say extremely autistic things pretty often but somehow people interpret everything I say and do in a way that works wildly in my favour. List of perks I've gotten from this glitch:

I'm tall, but nothing special, a little over 6ft1. I get told I'm good looking, and once got asked to come in and tryout for a well known London fashion/modelling company (although nothing ever came of it) but I honestly do not see it, and have plenty of hangups on how I look. Then again, I think I picked up the passive ability "body dismorphia" from /fit/. I do have a deep voice though, and my accent is generally well received, especially by anyone from abroad. No idea on whether I sound authoritative. I definitely say autistic shit, either way.

High dex is a mix of fine motor and gross motor control. Playing piano is best described as a skill check linked to dexterity, so simply being good at playing piano (which you've presumably practiced for some time) isn't necessarily indicative of a high dex.

How are your reflexes? Average human reaction time is 0.25 seconds to a visual stimulus; is yours higher or lower than that?
Can you move through crowds easily? Can you pick up an agility-linked skill (like, say, ice skating) very easily? Can you juggle? Can you dodge a thrown ball? Can you dodge a thrown wrench? Can you dodge a thrown wrench you aren't expecting?

The more of those you answer "yes" to, the better the odds that you have a high dex score.

I go by the old "Intelligence = MENSA IQ score with the last digit chopped off". Since my IQ is 127, this means my Intelligence is 12. It could have been 13, but in D&D you always round away fractions.

Constitution 12 is due to rarely getting sick and the fact that I walk everywhere (including walking 1 hour to work nearly every day), but it may be wishful thinking on my part.

As much as I want to put down Neutral Good for my alignment - that's what I consistently get on tests - the fact of the matter is that Good requires that I am willing to make sacrifices for others on a regular basis, when in fact I mostly give only lip-service to good causes or donate spare change. This does not make me Good.

(The difference being, for example, that a Good person goes to Africa to fight AIDS, a Neutral person gives to an AIDS charity when he can afford it, and an Evil person skims money from AIDS charities for his own benefit)
