>in the year 2200 the first Generation ship reached to borders of our solar system only to discover that space, stars and all the cosmos we could see in the galaxy was actually a reflective screen that made a false image of a galaxy
Upon reaching the end of our solar system, all the lights turned on, and countless aliens applauded. Humanity had succeeded its test, and was finally ready to serve the Masters as race 47,146,062 of species creating armada.

>the "Masters" are a Galactic super power who regularly creates races is Dyson Spheres for them to grow and evolve, once they reach space age they are sacked and assimilated into the greater collective along with any technological creations/marvels they have made
>you are part of a cutting-edge program, first of mankind to travel to another solar system.
>put into cryo-sleep until you arrive
>by the time you get there, technology has advanced to the point where FTL travel is widespread
>the new solar system has already been colonised, society has developed, and mankind has evolved
>you awaken as a relic of the past

Despite the celebration, humanity's new status in the empire is the equivalent of janitorial staff and assistants to the other species. It will take time to integrate a shell shocked race like humanity into normal society, as countless other created races have proved. Once humanity can prove that it can play nice after maybe a few generations, they'll be given proper citizenship.
