there havent been any major changes since the at least the early 90s, no. that's not to say that there has been no change at all. for example, when you fail a skill roll now, you can double down and reroll. but if you fail again, it's like a critical failure.
other than that, you have advantage/disadvantage-style rerolls like D&D 5e iirc. oh and attributes have been factored up to d100 scale now.

but yeah it's more or less the same. goes only to show how well-designed the game is.
