Everything moves up towards the enemy and punching ensues.

Criticism welcome.
>>
For this week's konor mission, you can load a stormraven with 1/3 of your PL, fly to the enemy map edge, disembark turn 2, and then win the game. It's pretty stupid. Even if the stormraven dies then at worst you'll lose 1 or 2 models in whatever unit you're carrying, you roll a number of dice equal to the carried models and remove models of your choice on a 1 so the characters and dreadnought the stormraven is carrying are never in danger.
>>
Quantum shielding is fucking bullshit. Here's how it should work.

When a unit with quantum shielding takes a woind with a multiplier, half the result rounding up.

That's it. No dice roll and no ignoring a 6 wound hit by a fucking lascannon.

it should just be a toughness or save bonus untill it's failed once and then it goes away

Is Smite broken?

In our games, it seems like whomever has the most Psykers ends up kind of dominating. Once you get past their possible deny the witch numbers, it's like free D3 dead models considering the ease of the test.

Russ v. Kharn
Who wins?
>>
>>55039790
Because I'm not a gaping anus. I play in a regular group of around 10 people and we talk to each other. If we see that something is beyond OP, we agree to give fair warning before using it so the opponent can counter it, as we usually do 'blind' listbuilding with only the faction known. But what we'd never do is forbid a model. That's a slippery slope for whiny cunts to abuse and kills part of the fun.
I'd rather stop playing than submit to some fat neckbeard that can't see his feet telling me what I can and can not play with. And that's what those people are.

>>55040097
You can be fined anywhere from €1000 to €15000 for buying counterfeit goods in most EU countries. Even if you bought it via internet from outside the EU. Customs agencies are required to destroy counterfeit goods and, in most countries, to report you to the IP holder who then can, aside from any fines, initiate civil proceedings.
That being said, my club has bought thousands of Euros worth of recasts and nobody ever gave a fuck.

In short, it's illegal but those laws were made for fashion items like fake designer hand bags and customs agents don't care about packets full of delicious chinese cancer.

-really big centerpiece unit, so painters collectors and other non-gamers migh tbe interested in it.

I need some advice.

I am making a kill team for Shadow War, and I am going for a Inquisitorial warband. I don't have any models, however, so I have to buy them.

I want Inquisitor Greyfax, because that model is awesome. Kinda sad that it requires ebay or a "triumvate" shitbox with 2 models I don't care about, but fuck that, I want it.

For the rest, I need something akin to this setup:
>1: Storm Bolter
>2: Storm Bolter
>3: Storm Bolter, Krak Grenades
>4: Sniper Rifle, Red Dot Laser Sight, Autopistol
>5: Krak Grenades, Plasma Pistol

Especially the stormbolters is an issue. I might just use normal bolters, but I still need the other models. I don't have a sniper rifle, so I need that. I might have a plasma pistol, but it is likely attached to a space marine arm.

Is there a 5+ man box that has a sniper and a plasma pistol? probably a stretch, especially for regular flak armour guys.

I know my group is very anal about WYSIWYG, so I need everything somewhat properly represented. If I am not using bolters, I know I can get away with stormbolters, simply because they look close enough.

I am a bit curious about what boxes are "good" for some more inquisitorial looking blokes, rather than boring cadian soldiers. They are not Imperial Guardsmen, after all.
>>
>>55041221
I have some Vallejo surface primer for the times I really just want to paint something weather be damned. Worth having around.
>>
>>55041700
Buy the bits off eBay. Five Terminator arms with Storm Bolters are really cheap and you should be able to get a plasma pistol off some sort and a sniper rifle too.
>>
>>55041700
You want bitz sellers and third party miniatures providers.

You can buy sniper rifles from Anvil Industries that are really really good looking, but they're retardedly expensive. You can also convert a bolter into a sniper rifle with some plastic pipe. Just chop off the barrel, add some pipe, and throw a stalker bolter scope on the top of the bolter.

Imperial guard command squads. The cadian one definitely has both, the catachan one probably does but I don't care to check.
>>
>>55041875

Last game it turns out you can use the CSM Cultist Refill Stratagem to just redeploy those Cultists onto the board edge to deny the Imperium an escape route, then if you have the CP for it, autopass morale for them when they start getting chewed through so they don't run. Then you just headhunt with the rest of your team until you have enough victory points to secure a victory.

Command squads have it. Snipers are also available as metal models. For Stormbolters you might try to either cut of arms from a SM sprue or glue two bolters together. Other than the hatchmounted stormbolters on vehicles i dunno about IG. And those are really big, compared to handheld.

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/07/05/codexes-your-questions-answered-july-5gw-homepage-post-2/

>There are a few options that are missing in the codex that appear in the index: why is that? Does that mean I can’t use these models in my army anymore?

While the indexes are designed to cover a long history of miniatures, the codexes are designed to give you rules for the current Warhammer 40,000 range. There are a few options in the indexes for some Characters and vehicles that are no longer represented in the Citadel range – certain Dreadnought weapons that don’t come in the box, or some characters on bikes, for example.
Don’t worry though, you can still use all of these in your games if you have these older models. In these instances, use the datasheet from the index, and the most recent points published for that model and its weapons (currently, also in the index).
They still gain all the army wide-bonuses for things like Chapter Tactics and can use Space Marines Stratagems and the like, so such venerable heroes still fit right in with the rest of your army.

So if your unit is in the Index but not the Codex, you can use the Index datasheets and points to use him.
>>

>>
>>55043332

>>
>>55043483
You're supposed to use the latest rules, so models that had stuff in the Index, like LasPlas Razorbacks and Twin AC Dreads, that lost it in the Codex aren't legal in official lists, unless you get permission.

From the same article.
>Can I choose to use the rules and/or points for units from my index instead of the new ones in the codex once released?
In your own games, if you and your opponent agree, you can, of course, play with whatever rules you like.

In all future publications and official events though, it will be assumed that you’re using the most recent rules and Datasheets. It will also be assumed that you’re using the most up to date points for matched play, in this case, those included in the codex.

So pay the Index points and use the Index datasheets, but with your opponent's / TO's permission. Shouldn't really matter in casual games, but they always have the option of saying no.

Just think of it as universal houserules for old models GW has published. You can show up to some rando game night with people you've never played with and still have rules for your old models. This just keeps people from trying something at tournaments, or allow your local TFG to refuse to play with you, which he's allowed to do under these rules.

GW has been removing options for shit they don't sell anymore. They've been doing that for a while. I don't like it, and wish they allowed and promoted converting again, but that opens them up to legal issues from 3rd party makers.

If you have an issue with that, talk to GW Legal.

I don't get what point your making, dude. You don't want to ask your opponent permission to use Legacy models? Then don't play with Legacy models, use the most up to date ones.

You're not "pulling" anything. This is all shit laid out by GW. It gives people a better chance to play with old models. You don't have to argue house rules for them, cause GW gave you the house rules and stated that as long a your opponent or TO is cool with it, you're good to go.

There's a fine line between a simple kitbash, versus a model that has no art and no model and isn't based on a previous model though.

Now it's just index stuff like chaos lords/captains on bikes.
>>
>>55044252
DEldar- Hit fast and hard. Extremely mobile with access to lost of hard hitting weapons on lightly armored troops and vehicles. But, also have a small number of slower more durable troops in the Covens freakshow. They also have one of the best, most up to date plastic ranges in the game and excellent models across the board (Except Drazhar).

AdMech- New army, so likewise a good plastic model range. One of the forces that is quintissentially 40k in appearance. They get lots of unique weapons and toys that no other Imperium army gets to play with. Very good shooting in general. However, no transports means the army is often ponderously slow. They are getting their codex soon which is another plus.

GW cares, which is why they've been cracking down on it.

House rules you've added to bring back a semblance of strategy and balance into 8E?

Here are mine

>Vehicles have -1 to save from their rear arc. Land Raiders & any vehicle that previously had AV 14 rear is exempt from this.
>If any model is 50% obscured from the position of the firing model it gains a cover save of +1.
>Units without the fly special rules moving through cover roll 2d6 to advance and pick the lowest.
>no first turn deep striking allowed(either side)
>No first turn charging allowed (either side)
>First turn is a roll off with whoever placed all their units first gaining +1 to the roll (as per upcoming chapter approved)
>Night fighting is enforced for the first turn, so -1 to hit with ranged weapons beyond 12" for all units.
>No first blood in any mission
>If a unit fails a morale check and is within 1" of an enemy model both players roll off, if the player whose unit failed the morale check loses the roll off their entire unit is run down and removed from play.
>Special characters and super heavies can only be used with your opponents express permission.
>3 formation limit

Now terrain and positioning matter again , morale matters more and the game isn't decided by who goes first. No need to thank me.

They fudged the numbers on literally the most important planet on Konor to make it look like there's a contrast.

Surprise, surprise, only Chaos (and Orks to some degree) want Chaos to win.
