After making the officials from Kaiserbourg my minions, I will slowly but surely take the throne of the King for myself. A small army under my unquestioning command should help with that - that's where the mercenaries come in. Eventually, I might not even have to kill the Archdemon, just make them my slave.

For my free personal choice, of course I pick immortality. Not aging will allow me to gain great wisdom and skill.

I suppose for my background, I'll take the heir position. I'm not big on companions anyhow, and the difference between a mansion and a castle doesn't seem like it should be worth 11 points. (1)

The comfybright timeline seems like by far the most pleasant. It may not well serve the interests of Gaia, since if the demons are reasonable I see no reason why I ought to kill them, but who knows. Perhaps I'll discover a taste for butchery.

The Slayer is tempting, but without any skills or magic, I reckon it would be difficult to get away with the first murders I'd need to start accruing useful powers. I reckon I'll stick with the straightforward, the power of the Soulfeeder.

Paladin seems like the most solid chassis.

Smithing III (6/7) because it's important to have the best gear, and enchanting II (5/12) and Craftmaster (4/16) for much the same reason. I don't know what the fuck a catalyst is, so not taking that.

Melee III and Armor because damn if I ain't gonna be a badass. (10/26). And Offhanding II because a shield is a necessary thing. (3/29)

Improved Healing is necessary for anyone who might fight, and Fast Learner is a given for protagonist types. (2/31)

Since I've turned out to be a knightly type, tactics seem very important (3/34)

Second-tier illusion seems like it would be very useful and versatile. I can make myself invisible or even do like that guy in Overlord and make it appear that my sword arm is in a different place than it is.

No equipment for now. My first goal will be to (using my family's resources) acquire tools and materials to build my own gear. The enchantments on option are kind of boring and not that useful, but at least I can make some truly badass gear.

I'll take the goddess as a companion, I suppose.

I'll take the realm of Orderward. Since I'm a badass, I should be able to adventure for special materials pretty easily and get my gear built up, and then there'll be a big market and a lot of opportunities to spread my merchandise.

As for my special ability, I'll take the Protagonist drive. The first two are too limited in application. Retry drive would be better, being more concrete, except that you lose it when things are safe and I'm in the comfybright setting.

I'll work towards all goals, but settling new lands seems like a good start to personal enrichment, at which point I would no longer strongly benefit from war profiteering and might see my way clear to killing the archdemon.

To be fair, it was self defense.

The Mentor's plan was basically to give a portion of his power to the souls of his apprentices, and then when they grew that power and made it their own, to then devour their souls to make himself even stronger. It was never going to end without either him or them 'Vanishing'. Unfortunately for him, he underestimated the strength of some of his apprentices, or that they wouldn't be as self centered as he was, and actually befriend each other and work together, allowing them to discover his plans and attempt to stop him.

I've thought about making a 'The Prisoner' cyoa, but the TV series doesn't really translate to common cyoaisms from McGoohan's perspective (though it might work in reverse). Re-using the "you're captured, get ready for adventure thing" probably works though, and describing skill trees is a rather fun exercise. I imagine I'd try my hand at adding waifus/companions too.

If I ever get off my ass and make a sensible app for the purpose, I have some ideas about making a cyoa with challenge in it, too; though the above wouldn't work with it.

I've always loved the monk style of character: no weapons, no armor, just pure discipline, focus, and raw power. Plus, when you're in the Temple of the Forgotten Gods being capable of surviving magic is a boon, as well as being able to hold off on scavenging offers for as long as possible via raising my endurance.

The object that I'm taking are a bit of a long-term gamble: they're information, which is the most valuable thing in the long-term. Conveniences are nice, but with the adventuring party and my physical capability, I'll be able to find conveniences or handle inconveniences fairly well after a short period of time. Having a perfect map of the dungeon and extremely accurate information on foes, however, is invaluable and also wouldn't be a bad way to earn some coin.

The adventuring party is slightly critical to all of this. I'm an amiable guy, willing to work with others and good at keeping the peace. I think I could keep everyone from fighting and work together to either escape the dungeon or gain its powers, depending on the desire of the others around me. With our power combined we can handle pretty much anything the dungeon throws at us. The Travelling Merchants are also a great option: there are going to be stores and salespeople here and there, which means that more valuable items or going to be important in the long run.

As for the Dark Knights, my reasoning is simple: better a blade in the chest than one to the back. The lack of guile and trickery is something I appreciate in a foe. It also means that if I'm on the ropes, using a bit of guile myself is sure to give me the upper hand.

In general: take it like a DnD campaign. Work well with your party, find creative solutions, and build in power as quickly as you can. Focus on the long game because that's where you achieve maximum power.

I thought i'd have that a bit open ended and just leave hints that an Incarnate is several times more capable than a human born without the Goddess' blessings, but if you're unsatisfied with that:

1~average - slightly above average, you'll probably notice no change from how you are now

2- above average. In the case of strength, you are fit and healthy

3-exceptional. Still possible for a normal human with enough hard work.

4- unique. For a normal person, this level of say, dexterity, would require significant amount of dedication and training.

5- peak human. This is the absolute limit for those without the Blessing.

6-9- enough to effectively combat a demon commander

10+-entering the bone zone. in the case of strength, this is Chris Redfield punching a boulder without breaking a sweat.

My main idea right now is to simply describe how Hydras work in the wild (ie non-sentient Hydras) and leave it up to the player if they control all five heads, if the other four heads are figments of your personality (so still "you" but not you - they act like you would but they aren't you) or if they are different people entirely and they go into hibernation when you're in human form.

She's stronger and more well-built than she looks, thanks to inhumanly dense musculature. Also will never grow up and stop being the princess.
As a Soulcatcher, she can... "reaffirm the convictions" of people on her side, gathering more power to herself through connections and thus becoming a better leader the more she leads.
Her skills are, but for one, entirely focused on learning, making connections, and mental/tactical competence both in and out of fights. She also has learned a technique for projecting psychokinetic shields for self-defence, which holds up well with her reasonably high intellect and willpower.
Magically, she's focused on various applications of summoning. Her favorite technique is to establish teleportation spells on all of her charges in combat: predicting when they will be overwhelmed, she can set off the spell to pull them back to a safe area in an instant rather than let them die.
Smaller, weaker spirits are called as remote eyes and ears as well, communicating telepathically and keeping track of information.
Lastly, she knows how to overexert her magic by feeding her soul into it. This is paired with techniques for storing magic to create single-use items that summon much more powerful spirits. It's done infrequently so as to prevent power loss, but continually, so she steadily builds up a stock of these summons.
She'll start out in Orderward, invited onto a band of mercenaries after a conversation with one of their members revealed an abnormally keen mind for tactics and strategy. From there, it's all about spreading the net and striving to become the new monarch.
She's not going to go killing an archdemon, settling places, or hunting any monsters with her power alone. But once mankind is united once again, it can accomplish anything.
