What do you guys use to make your maps/backgrounds? im new to GM'ing and looking for something good to do stuff like picture attached.
I've been using Inkarnate which is a free browser-based map designer. You can import custom images and textures as well which is pretty neat.

What about dungeon floorplans and that sorta stuff?

You're a walking god anon. Thank you for existing and sharing this wonderful gift with me.

Inkarnate doesn't have the tools to make small scale maps, at least not the free version. Anything I can use for that?
For small scale maps, use Dungeon Painter, which has a free version on the website and a paid version.

Alternatively, just photoshop works too, obviously.
Roll20's map maker is a chore, but you can create some good stuff in it if you work with it.
Ye Olde Map Maker and Deepnight can also work.

You can still kind of do dungeon plans but you are somewhat limited by size.
Rooms can still be done just as long as you find yourself some icons to import

Does Dungeon Painter have like futuristic stuff? or is it just like ole timey looking stuff?
Man, if only there was some kind of map editor for dwarf fortress. It would have been such a quick and relatively nice looking tool for dungeon mapping.
