Which system would you use to run some heroic science fantasy? I'm looking for something that would let me put mythical heroes like Achilles, Jason, Arthur, Merlin, or Aladdin on equal footing as pic related.
Yes, I know it's a weaboo anime tier request, but it's what I'd like to run.

Anima. No seriously It's probably one of the few systems not afraid of neckbears weakness to anime. Just because you may have had or seen a player who made their character after Sephiroth doesn't mean doing more than swinging a sword is weaboo.

What are it's merits? It's drawbacks and flaws? What is/are it's core mechanics and what impact do you feel they make on a game?

I feel like Savage Worlds would be a bit too swingy. Even if a heroes skin grants them Heavy Armor or something, still a bit too easy to kill.
I'll look into M&M. I only made a single character for a game that ended up getting cancelled.
4e D&D might be usable enough.
