Any anons here ever play Diplomacy? It's a World War 1 strategy board game. 7 players control either Russia, Austria, Turkey, Italy, France or Britain and vie for control over Europe in 1901. It is an interesting strategy game in that there is no chance involved. Each military unit has equal strength, so you need allies if you want to win. The original game was normally played by mail, but there are several apps online that speed the game up tremendously.
TL;DR Diplomacy is an awesome WWI strategy game of alliances and betrayals. We should play sometime.

If I'm not mistaken the best course of action is generally speaking to prove yourself trustworthy until you get to the point where backstabbing is inevitable. The sooner you become a lying Judas, the sooner everyone else turns on you.
tl;dr: Don't be a Germany.

Turkey has the ability to seriously fuck over so many countries, especially Russia. If and when Turkey takes the Black Sea, it's game over for Russia.

I find the most convenient way to play Diplomacy is through smartphone apps. Messaging is easy, plus getting push notifications reminding me to send orders is convenient.
The only true way to play is face to face
