I have been reading the HH books and you know what, most of the primarchs, including both Magnus and Russ, did plenty of things wrong, and actually acted more like turbo retards than the super geniuses they were supposed to be

I am halfway through Vulkan Lives and so far 14 out of the 19 primarchs have turned out to be morons

HH books are written by chaos fanboys. Primarchs and the Emperor are clueless morons and Chaos is some le edgy cool primordial matter of the universe that acshuly controls evrthing and it's all just a part of a big game to them and they willingly tricked the emperor into giving him their powers and they could easily btfo him but can't be bothered and horus lost on purpose and chaos really never fails lol

As I said, I haven't read them all yet, but... that is not how I understand things. Chaos is an evil encroaching from outside our reality, and obviously lies about its own power. Some of the primarchs are idiots, but not all, and the emperor is both intelligent and capable, but quite busy and thought that he could rely on his subordinates (that assumption is throughout the HH series often a mistake it seems)
