>use human supporters to maintain their hold
>leaders are wispy, rarely scene group that no one really knows where they came from

Advent:
>use drones a lot
>use mechs
>advanced energy weaponry
>humaniod shape but not human
>don't speak English
>has a 'join and together we'll work for a better future' public face
>kill billions in bio-experiments
>use multiple alien races as troopers and auxillaries
>use human supporters to maintain their hold
>leaders are wispy, rarely scene group that no one really knows where they came from

There are workshop mods for lasguns, botlers, helmets, guard voice packs etc.

Why aren't you leading the resistance in the name of the Emperor, Anon?

That's no excuse for avoiding the enemy.

There is no enemy to avoid if the enemy does not exist.

Imperium cucks are hilarious

Behead those who insult XCOM.
>>
>>54883899
I do wish they'd give us an X-Com style strat RPG with an IG platoon. Tau would be perfect enemies for it.

You could play as an army left stranded by a warp storm, waging a guerrilla war, hoping/trying to get word out to imperial support
>>
>>54883978
Ey.

But Xcom 2 with mods is the best we've got so far. The gunslinger class (mod, might be Long War 2 only?) is great for commissars
>>
>>54883978
That just sounds like Only War.
>>
>>54884001
Is there a fucking Only War videogame? No?

Then we need one
>>
>>54883978
God, it'd be horrible. In a good way.
Up v Orks? Get suppressed and meele'd
Up v Tau? Get suppressed and hit by energy weapons that chew through cover
Up v Chaos? Get murder raped by 40 HP deamons that busts out of tents at night because billy the recruit was a pskyer.
Up v Chaos space marines? Get surpressed, stomped, infected and then raped.
Up v Nids? Get suppressed by them throwing bits of themselves at you, before infecting you with rape babies/acid
>>
>>54884075
Mind you, small unit tactics like that isn't usually how IG operate. It'd fit more for Stormtroopers (or space marines but we have enough of those games)
>>
>>54884135
Or Inquistor teams https://1d4chan.org/wiki/All_Guardsmen_Party
>>
>>54883978
>IG Platoon
>Not Ordo Xenos Cell

Think about it, you have your baseline IG recruits you've picked up, who can eventually upgrade into more specialized acolytes or Inquisitorial Storm Troopers. Eventually, you can pull favors for access for a Deathwatch kill team, but while they are incredibly powerful, losing a single Space Marine will also hurt.

Meanwhile, you can manage an Ordo Biologis' research into Xenos for weaknesses, or you can slowly start your descent into radicalism by utilizing the weapons of the enemy. If you choose to go radical, you can recruits powerful alien mercenaries as allies, but you must beware censure from the Inquisition.

A world surrendered to the Xenos? Use exterminatus to bring the others back into line for a penalty. Get very involved in recruiting psykers? Now you've accidentally let daemons in. Get too heretical? Another Inquisitor is tracking you now. In this game, there are many ways to fail.

We professor Oak now bois
>>
>>54884189
fucking yes
>>
>>54884189
>yfw the entirety of /tg/ has pitched multiple good ideas but GW is still too fucking retarded to cash in on their fucking IP.

They should just go ahead and approach fireaxis to get this shit started already.
>>
>>54883961
>not wanting to die for the Emperor

Shameful
>>
>>54883978
>>54884189
Why the fuck doesn't this exist
>>
>>54884153
The word "Inquisitorial" ought to be in air quotes, because the only thing they ever inquire about is "How many Explosives 'ave we got?" And "How many do you think we'll need to blow them to kingdom come?"
>>
>>54887588
In fairness, that's a perfectly legitimate Xcom and Guard strategy
>>
>>54883921
>Bonding between troops
W-will love bloom on the battlefield?
>>
>Finally get my squad of all Psi finished
This shit wrecks face in both games. The only thing stronger is XCOM:EW Sniper with jetpack and an invisible scout with meme skin.
>>
>>54889628
Psions are fun, especially in missions with no time limit where you can just wait for your abilities to recharge because the only limited time use ability is the permanent possession.

My personal favorites are gunslinger with flame rounds, and Scout with agility PCS, Talon rounds, and laser sight. The former is good, but the Latter is crit city.
>>
>>54884189
>you can slowly start your descent into radicalism by utilizing the weapons of the enemy
Can't you just requisition the good stuff like an actual inquisitor? Or is it like AGP where you don't get shit because your boss is a cheap fuck.
>>
>>54890259
Depends if the warp has you cut off/chaos infestations
>>
>>54890259
>Can't you just requisition the good stuff like an actual inquisitor?
Sometimes even the good stuff is not enough and you need some crazier mad science with bound demons inside. Or xenos shit. Or even weirder shit. Then you go radical.
>>
>>54884189
Could you potentially go recongregationalist or xenos hybris for alternate endings? I mean unlike XCom, it's not like the Imperium are unequivocally the good guys in the 41st millennium... Really it should be up to the players to decide to save the Imperium, reform it, turn against it (Chaos), or serve another master (Eldar, Tau or maybe even Necrons). Naturally it'd be a pretty major shift that leaves you questioning the morality of your actions, but frankly, if the game isn't making you do that anyway by the end of it, it's not really 40k now, is it?
>>
>>54890259
Because the Imperium is a very big place and some poor administratum clerk keeps putting the wrong zero in your requisition orders, so instead of an entire Imperial Crusade coming to help you, you get a ship full of sick and cripple pilgrims.

And sometimes an Inquisitor just finds that getting a couple Kroot Mercenaries, consulting an Eldar Farseer, and using Necron tech is just too tempting. Or hey, maybe you just think the whispers coming from that ancient tome written by L. Aurelian might just be worth it.

Adding to my idea earlier.
>The game occurs in a Subsector similar to DoW2, with about four worlds each with mutiple areas to respond too.
>Obscure Xenos races are involved to
>You, the Inquisitor, may also choose to join missions as a powerful boon to your force. However, if you die, it's game over.
>Certain missions may have gangers, Arbites, or local PDF assist you in dealing with Xenos. Some may have powerful stats, and if they survive you may have the chance to recruit them
>You can choose to curry favor with local nobles, or simply bulldoze and threaten anyone who doesn't cooperate
>If you don't want to do a routine mission, you can simply order the local PDF/Guard to handle it for a reduced chance of success or rewards.
>A player can conduct Exterminatus on every world for a non-standard game over
>>
>>54892498
Of course. Going radical can provide a lot of powerful resources, but if you are openly radical/heretical, then there are other parties who will come after you.

Indeed, it could go as far as:
>Do something blatantly heretical
>Certain acolytes, Deathwatch immediately turn hostile
>Now fighting part of your old team
>>
>>54889628
Ranger is actually stronger than PSI, crazy high single target dmg and mobility. Full PSI squad without mind controlling ayys doesn't have much killing power
>>
>>54890259
because god hates you
>>
>>54892519
With a choice between a traveling ship base, a station etc?
