My sister actually runs Brayarth, a relic contemptor, a venerable chaplain, and a relic leviathan all with applicable melta, flamer and dread ccw weapons. So multi melta and in-built flamer on the fist for the contemptor. Dreadnought inferno cannon, dread ccw and in-built flamer on the chaplain. Cyclonic melta lance, two underslung flamers, and in-built melts on the claw.
Those fuckers hurt anything they fire at or get in combat with and are damn close to invincible. So I'd say two contemptors, relic or otherwise, should do great. Maybe grab some spare arms to magnetize for options should you run into something like conscript or boy spam. That techmarine will probably be worth his weight in gold when he puts your contemptors back into fighting shape too.

Why are 5 Raptors bad? If the goal is just to deep strike in and shoot plasma at stuff seems like the most efficient number. Probably better to go for 2 plasma guns over pistols though since that would get 5 plasma shots instead of 3.

I put the oblits in the NL detachment to benefit from the Lord's aura (figured they'd come in near enough him) and with the 24" range on the guns they have a fairly narrow band of benefiting from the AL tactic.

A unit of 5 raptors are just asking to get killed without nearly making back their points, especially with pistols. If you want the shots, you should go with plasma guns and combi-plasma because you double your shots for the cost of a single pistol. Otherwise, 5 raptors is just asking to get shot up at range and do nothing in melee.

As for the Oblits, the -1 hit forces your opponent to come to you, which you can use as bait if they want to put the hurt on them.

Even last edition, 7+ raptors were preferred if you wanted to get more than a single round of shooting done. As for a fluffy list, NL use just about anything. They have a lot of raptor cults because Raptors like causing havoc and fear, and so do night lords. However, all raptors all the time for Night Lords is a meme. I imagine them to be very troop heavy because they typically prefer to ambush and catch their opponent in a panic. I run mine using surprise tactics to bully my opponent, and honestly Raptors have always been my weakest link. Maybe I should just use more of them. Most of my list is Termies, CC troops, and plasma squads, which is how I ran them in 7th, too, though I also had a lot of AC teams back then, too.

I use conversions to show it in my army personally, but it's not really easy.
Forge World Kakophoni Noise Marines lack a blastmaster but fit the perfectionist asthetic, so do Phoenix Guard Terminators.
Lucius is an odd case, he's not all tits everywhere, and he is a perfectionist, but his model doesn't really show it.
The problem is perfectionism isn't exactly a visible trait, I try to make my Chosen seem proud by giving them trophies and gold bling, I paint up terminator lords and sorcerers capes with leopard and tiger print, and I try to make the armor look shiny as if they spent a long time polishing it before battle, but it's honestly just not an easy task.

They are pretty worth it, with the Black Rage, Sanguinary Priest, Lermates, The Sanguinor and psychic Unleash Rage for maximun rips and tears, they can deliver atleast 4 hits per turn per model and 5 if you charge. What should a long range fire support Dreadnought have?

I was considering a twin lascannon + missile launcher Venerable Dreadnought, but I feel like I could get more use out of a Relic Contemptor maybe.

The extra movement speed on the Contemptor isn't a big deal since I want this guy to stay out of the fray and just be a long range heavy hitter to provide some map coverage alongside my thunderfire cannon.

Would a C-Beam cannon be worth it in normal sized games (i.e. not Apocalypse, played on standard sized tables) or should I get twin lascannons or twin autocannons on him?

Or get a non-relic Contemptor Mortis with autocannons or lascannons?

A friend of mine is experimenting and trying to do nmms for the first time, got any advice for him to help get the technique down (outside of thinning and priming even when testing spare things)? I don't know much about how to properly do nmms so I can't properly help him out.

We just saw the Hive Fleet Leviathan (largest of the Hive Fleets operating in the galaxt) dragged whole (with the exception of a few remaining tendrils) into the Warp by the Great Rift.

The Tyranids alone were annihilated by the Warpstorm while the Baal System worlds and Girlyman's fleet were unscathed. What does that mean? Unlike the Imperium, Tyranids do not have protections against Chaos.

I've really been considering it. However my only dread HQs I can take as a Salamander army is Bray'arth Ashmantle and the Chaplain Venerable Dreadnought.
I think to be really relevant and not just swamped to death by hordes or melted instantly by anti-armor I'd have to use only venerable, contemptor or other relic dreads for a nearly army wide invuln and/or FNP save, but otherwise it would be pretty fun. Would end up a bit short on command points maybe though.

I love that Dreadnoughts benefit from chapter tactics too.

Friend is starting a Ynnari army with a starter Deldar and the Triumvate. I have a bunch of Eldar/Harlies I can give him to make a list. As someone who takes a deredeo fairly often, they're pretty good. I don't use any loadouts other than Missiles and Cannons, but for flexible long-ranged combat, you really can't go wrong with a deredeo.

They're a solid addition to any army, and will get you results if you use one right. That's pretty much all there is to it. So sit down and learn which weapons to use on what.

If a Deredeo focus-fires all of it's guns on one target, you can usually wipe that target out almost instantly, although that will rarely be the best option for him. Seeing as the name of the game is to use your weapons where they are most effective. I run my deredeo in an All-Dreadnought army, where he's complimented by having 4 other Dreadnoughts, 2 Contemptors, a Chaplain, and a Leviathan all working with him.

It does EXCEEDINGLY well, I win almost 75% of my games running just a handful of dreadnoughts. Although most of the time I don't run just *pure* dreadnoughts, I do like to bring in a squad of Tartaros Termis in an LRC. Those also tend to MVP most games. I still do well even when I do go pure-dreadnought.

Here's my dreadnoughts and their loadouts, I mix and match these as I run whatever I feel like for the day.
Captain Valentine (Deredeo)

These days I usually take either the leviathan, or the deredeo, along with one of the two contemptors, and a mixture of my other dreads to fill in. The HCB Contemptor is astoundingly mediocre though, so I pretty much never bring him.

I also don't own a redemptor, but from what I've seen, it's actually kinda mediocre too. It "Wants" to get in close to people, but must sacrifice it's prodigious shooting to move. While at the same time it's a "heavy Contemptor" chasis without the contemptor statline(that's shared between the leviathan, deredeo, and contemptor), so the other Heavy Contemptors vastly outclass it in practice.

I have acquired one of pic related.

Its an unreleased Farseer model that has never really made it out into the market.

I want to recast it for personal use, as well as to give away. Preferably in Resin, although I'm not confident on strength of the staff in resin.

Dude, Celestine in Fall of Cadia was said to be no match for Abaddon. She needed her two Sista bodyguards fighting beside her to even the fight. At the end of it, Abaddon bitchslapped her to the ground turing her to a damsel that needed to be saved by Greyfac and then Creed.

There is no character in the setting that can beat Abaddon in a 1 vs 1 fgt. Not with him holding Drach'nyen and the Talon.

Pretty much. Pretty good against Necron Quantum shielding, but otherwise I can't think of many reasons to take them over Dark Lances. Just on a quick look over without running the numbers they seem about combarable to Blasters against vehicles while obviously being worse against anything else.

I'm going to try dual Haywires on my Talos though, as it doesn't have many better options aside from Splinter Cannons which I already have plenty of.

I don't really see how assault bolt rifle and assault plasma incinerator are better than their rapid fire equivalent.

It gives you more standoff range against assault armies. I.e. moving to 24" firing, and then backing up an shooting each turn. There's also a little extra utility for White Scars since they can be really mobile and still fire. That said, the standard rapid fire guns are generally the better option.

Depends on what your friend wants to play his Orks as. Some people prefer, and make something out of, terrible Ork shooting and go mass Dakka. Most people prefer using them as melee monsters that rip and tear shit up.

I would personally make the Boyz into slugga boyz with choppaz and make the Nobs similarily. Nobs have a few more ranged options but I would just spam Power Klaws and Killsaws on them as much as possible. It will be expensive but your friend will get a lot of value from having the Nobz with Power Klaws.

Also, the rokkits and big shoota sucks on a dread klaw. You're stuck with atleast 2 klaws so you're not getting full value if you're sticking back and shooting one rokkit a turn at BS5. Stick three klaws on that fucker and a flamer. That will make it rite killy and make it serve as a nice DISTRACTION CARNIFAX for the nobz.

Stripping models with dettol has been one of the most annoying things I've done in a while. I have no idea how you fucks who buy second hand painted do it.
