I posted this in the awg thread but I think it needs its own discussion.
why are companies going from metal to flat boring as single piece plastic? that shit completely removes it from being a hobby? let's not kid ourselves, plastics are not as good and metal. for years people have been "plastic is just as good" or "it's get better eventually" NO, no it doesn't and that is just plastic in general but now going with single piece plastic?

I lost interest in Malifaux when they moved to plastic. Their models had this lovely quirkiness and all of that turned into generic saturday-morning cartoon stuff with the transition to plastic.

Metal is horrible to kitbash. Epoxying it is a nightmare.
The real problem you're having is designers cheaping out and going with CAD modeling and other fake-ass computer generated shit instead of hand-modeling details and casting on sprues. The soul gets sucked out of a model when you have a computer do all the work for you, and casting monopose is cheap but the poses you can make are hugely limited by the mould.
