where are you getting that from? Page 76 of the Index;

"Word of the Phoenix has a warp charge value of 6. If manifested, select a friendly YNNARI unit within 18" of the psyker that has not made a Soulburst action that turn. That unit can immediately make a Soulburst action"


Then under Soulburst;

"The unit can shoot as if it were your shooting phase, even if it Advanced or Fell Back this turn"


So I see no reason why I couldn't fall back with my Warp Spiders, Guide them, then Word of the Phoenix for shooting.

ok so me and my friends might have gotten this rule wrong so far.

If you have a model with two different weapons and choose both to attack the same unit, could you kill three models with the first and get yourself out of range to attack with your other weapon?

Same goes for a whole squad. I kill five guys with my powerswords, the enemy removes units infront of my poweraxes, so they cant hit?

This is 8th edition. If you say they have T5 and fnp they have T5 and fnp, if your opponent disagrees just use the 'most important rule ' and roll off if you win they by raw have T5 and fnp. Don't forget to use a command point to re-roll if you lose the roll off, ideally in a phase your opponent has already used their command point to re-roll.

Thus, if it was in range at the start, it was in range at the end. The actual Chad marine tactical and despoiler squads look really good, well proportioned, minimalist design that can have some tacticool bits put on them if you really want. If I really had to guess as to why they made the tank so fucky it's probably the same reason they made the Pregnaught have an anti air missile launcher: They want to release vehicles for the new army that can cover every conceivable role that all the other dozens of vehicles and dreads they've been releasing for space marines over the past several editions do, but without having to invest in actually making multiple specialized vehicles that people might not buy.

The pregnought can engage armour, infantry and aircraft with the same load out, the repulsor can engage armour, infantry and aircraft with the same loadout, while also transporting troops. If you want to do a chad only army you only have to invest in two vehicles, and you're going to need multiples of them, which can be seen as lowering the barrier of entry for people since they won't be overwhelmed with choice, and it ensures that none of the sculpts GW created for the army are going to be sitting on the shelves.

A Lord of Contagion is not a Psyker. So only Typhus can do them.
Typhus is a special character, which some people don't like to use, costs more points than the Plaguecaster which makes the Mally the budget option and since the DG Codex will most likely expand their lore to 6 powers, Typhus alone cannot cast all their powers and since he's unique you can only have one of him.

Can the Horus Heresy ever be justified?

I've been reading through the books and despite loving it, I can't really sympathize with the big picture. There's just no nuance - Horus and his buddies really are the 'bad guys' and that's all there is to it. The only thing I can muster up is that Horus has been manipulated and corrupted and is nothing but a pawn to Chaos. Although that's tragic, it doesn't justify anything, I suppose.

As for the Emperor. His goal is to unify, and the means will justify the end: a peaceful galaxy in the hands of Mankind. The fact that the Legions and Primarchs are but mere tools to an end is shitty, but it's all for eh... the greater good. Same goes for compliances of other races, etc etc. The Imperial Truth is evidence that Emps isn't in it for Godhood. So all in all, I'd say Emp should feel pretty good about himself compared to Horus and his bros.

Purifiers were amazing in 7th. I ran 2 combat squads in rhinos casting purifying flame out of the top. It countered so much bullshit that got thrown around at my LGS, from ravenwing 2+ rerollable cover saves, invisible eldar farseer/warlock stars and invisible centurions, to fucking over hordes and flyers, and fags who would hide models out of LOS behind walls on objectives.
They're only real weakness was a lack of deepstrike option, which would have been fantastic if GK had droppods.

Well, I see them as marines who dedicated themselves heart and soul to the cause of destroying the Imperium and saw that cause betrayed by the Primarchs who put their own desires and issues before the cause. As marines who specifically reject their Primarchs in order to dedicate themselves fully to the Long War. They started from nothing and Abaddon built them into the most powerful single force of Astartes in the galaxy. Abaddon may die, but the Crusade will continue, because Abaddon is just a leader, not a god.

Not really as it was pointed out, people just did not read the lore. For example, they thought all the Black Crusade were meant to go to Terra. They believe that the fluff says that they failed, that it never since day one said that the Crusades had a hidden agenda behind them.

And most glaring stupidity example I ever seen in this fandom since and before, is people believing that Creed was the acting commander of Cadia since the First Black Crusade. Some people still believe that. The failure here is on an a certain vocal element in the fandom. All GW did was write their fluff in bolder text so people won't miss it and add a little more grandeur to it.

10x Plague Marines with axes, 2 spewers, 2 flails, and a fist champion with a plasma gun clocks in at a whopping 303 points. They will on average kill an incredible 15.137 marines shooting+charging. The two flails with world eaters are amazing killing 5.5 marines alone, I'd put them in any unit regardless of load out.

10x Zerkers with axes, 3 plasma pistols a fist and an icon is 212 points. They kill 9.28 marines average shooting and charging in the first round and a further 8.17 in the second round, for a 17.45 total.

A Plague Marine is about twice as durable against bolter and heavy bolter fire as a berzerker. A little more than 50% more durable vs assault cannons, and nearly 4x as durable vs lascannons.
