Why do we never have these threads anymore?

any more templates? that one is nice, but i want more to play with, i want to draw my dark heresy party but that isn't enough

'cause you're a lot of judgmental cunts, that's why.

Some of these parties are so old now.
I wonder how their games ended? I wonder if any of them are still playing?

Classical world, nice
>>54819684
Great, an opportunity to post this thing I made a while back.
First 4 characters are the main party, after that come 4 of the the regular guest players and all the characters after that are the most common npcs we interact with in the game, some of which are players in other campaigns ran by our GM
>>54820217
Pretty neat, my dude.
This one is still ongoing
>>54820311
Updated picture though....
>>54820311
Wrong pic
Is this one still going too?
Who won?
>>54820622
I think that most of /tg/ is convinced that none of this actually ever happened in a game, but still secretly wish that it did, and hope for a conclusion.
>>54820752
Honestly every bit of storyline for that group is believable to me, I've had far better and more complicated campaigns.
My last party split down the middle to go and advise two different rulers and drive them to war, all so they could gain access to a dungeon that was guarded by multiple countries. It wouldn't look believable illustrated because what kind of adventuring group splits into two permanent two-man groups for 50% of the campaign?
>>54816969
Oh shit, didn't expect to see my own OC posted so early in the thread. I recently updated the image to reflect the progress so far. What better time to post it than now!
>>54820622
Honest to god why isn't this a comic? I want to hear the bantz between the undead sidekicks.
>>54816965
This is out of date now, but it'll do.
TL;DR Geev got terminated saving Virrasztas, Ulfber got turned to stone (and later shanghaied by Drow), a Dwarf Barbarian named Umgrim joined the party and later died saving their asses, Virrasztas is a vegetable now, an Ikanan noble with evil ambitions is helping the party for a price, and Ulfber's estranged Inquisitor half-brother joined to aid in tracking him down.
>>54821169
I would assume in that case everyone just makes a side character for each party.
>>54816965
>Why do we never have these threads anymore?
I noticed they stopped popping up as well. I think it is because these threads usually end up being an image dump for "the party," as seen here: >>54817463
I'm joining a new adventure on Sunday, and I plan on drawing up that group as well.
Pic: The last group where I was a player. It didn't start off bad, but it didn't end very well.
Cool I never got to do one of these before. Used another template that I can't find right now for the first two.
Need to get around to doing descriptions
>>54817500
Do it anyway. In fact, do it doubly so. Sucking is the road to not sucking.
>>54826082
What game is this?
Plague Doctor Druid - Omen
Pirate Sorcerer - Tilde the Spanish Prince of Oppression (not actually a prince of anything)
Bard/Samurai Noblewoman - Lady Genevieve Valmont Alsire.
>>54825797
These are pretty cool anon, good job
>>54825751
Nice artwork dude, have any more?
>>54825425
hello renan
>>54828568
Of parties? Yes. The art quality dips since they are older. Pic: Another time being a player for a first-time DM. Overall, it wasn't that bad.
(1/2)
>>54828568
>>54828934
Pic: Longest running adventure I've ran, captured in all their glory before any character deaths---and before I abruptly quit. The adventure was outright stupid since I was cramming so many dumb ideas together without any sort of cohesion, but the group enjoyed themselves.
I have other drawings that summarized sessions, but I found that practice to be annoying and unnecessary.
>>54816965
Dude use a bigger template when you start these threads.
>>54828934
Please tell me about Yurdgruk Hammerock.
>>54820452
I think I've seen this on /i/
>>54818155
>>54829848
So what are the chances your GM might have a not so subtle monstergirl fetish?
>>54829252
I had to look at some of my notes. Yurdgruk Hammerock was a simple traveler who had a sweet voice, a silver tongue, and considered a cunning linguist when it came to smooth-talking the ladies. He was always calm and collected in any situation. In a party filled with charismatic entities, he was the negotiator and was the level-headed member of the group. His words would often get the party out of trouble.
After the party saved a dragonborn kingdom from an army of warforged and their shardmind commander, Yurdgruk and Akrylos decided to continue adventuring together in an attempt to get as far away from Solaire and Forthencho as they could. Some say they are still travelling to this very day.
The player for this PC was one of the better ones I've played with, and I have not had the opportunity to play with him again (its been 4 years). He's been busy playing other adventures with closer friends, which might be better for him. The groups I'm a part of, as a player or a DM, don't end up being too serious (for better or worse)
>Pic
Same group as >>54828978, but earlier in their adventure.
Holy shit look at all this art.
When the fuck did /tg/ start drawing adorable characters?
That's what I get for accidentally filtering this thread.
Not on template but when i got a scribble pad I sketchily drew a couple characters to test the thing. Worth posting mebbe?
This was Ulrich, Pox-marked Watchman of Untergard.
Filamir, Elven Wizard Apprentice.
Magnar is a Dwarfen Troll Slayer and this picture is just about accurate to the very next moment after he slew a Minotaur.
Roland, Bretonian Knight Errant and the jolly party face, even with his Breton views of the peasant class.
Zane Antarian. Spoilers: he's a tech priest.
I haddn't actually finished the last party when I decided to jump to our Dark Heresy group.
I started trying shading and color not long after but none of it is on topic yet.
>>54831582

do you know how to use an drawing/image editing software that utilizes layers?
if so then with this template you can suck at drawing and still get something workable if you put time into your scribbling.

You probably did, I put it up there for a request ages ago though.
>>54833502
It was a short Weird Wars campaign I ran set during the battle of Stalingrad a few years ago. Got some boys together out of my regular gaming group at the time and played using Fantasy Grounds. This was before Roll20 got popular.
Got a bunch of art a drawfag did for it, I'll post in a bit if the thread's still up.

Basically some talented art anons, the ones that made these specifically, started posting these and it made a lot of people scared to post their teams with lesser art and less interesting stories. /tg/ is full of judgmental cocknozzles and even more people afraid of being singled out and judged by them.
>>54834897
Which is a shame, because with something like this, it shouldn't be about trying to impress anyone. It should be about a visual representation of what's fun and interesting about your game.
>>54817500
As with most things creative, art requires practice, practice and practice. Of course it probably won't look great when you start out, but if you keep at it, learn from others, and do a lot of reference drawing, you'll eventually get better and better. Something like this is a great way to start, and I wish more people would give it a go.

Yeah, okay. From left to right.
>The Gimp
Fallen paladin of Lathandar turned oathbreaker of Asmodeus with an ingrained hatred for mustaches. Pragmatic to a fault, but he genuinely cares about the other party members as though they were his family.
>The Loner
Social outcast who was literally raised by wolves. Utterly amoral, but not malicious like a predatory animal. Wears his armor at all times disguised as clothing; he calls it his "special shirt". His wolf companion died a few sessions ago, he now instead rides a nightmare into battle.
>The Dyke
Former pirate captain who got roped into this mess. It's become a running gag that she gets dropped in the first round every fight due to poor rolls, and positioning. Unsuccessfully hits on the wizard, and female NPCs disguised as a man.
>The Dandy
Flamboyant nobleman belonging to the former ruling house. Blessed with divine blood from his patron "Asmodesu". Has tried (and failed) on numerous occasions to seduce his uncles. Comes up with increasingly asinine uses for the stone shape spell.
>The Objectivist
Female elven wizard living in a backwards country that holds stigmas towards non-humans, wizards, and women that aren't submissive house wives. Egotistical racist whose end goal is to completely remove free will, and established a productive utopia. Specialised in enchantment, but usually spams fireballs while screaming loudly. Prepares ALL of the utility spells, but the ones needed by the group such as identify, and darkvision.

I appreciate the template, although I would encourage everybody to draw their own characters, no matter how shitty they look
Pic. related, some characters I've been working on for my next campaign..

All I have to use is MS Paint
I will get the rest done for the next time one of these threads is up
>>54837260
> I would encourage everybody to draw their own characters, no matter how shitty they look
You underestimate how bad am I at drawing, it always ends up looking like a 8 year old drawing.
>>54837847
also, any tips on how to git gud at it, other than the obvious "you must practice"?
maybe some kind of cheat code?
>>54832187

Is that white-elf-korra?
>>54837847
>>54837888
Practice is really the only way to get better. But, other tips: Use references. Don't try drawing strictly from your imagination. Look at references---study them. The first trick to getting better at drawing is getting better at seeing. When doing this, it is usually best to squint your eyes so you see the shapes that create the form. Try working with shapes more than with lines.
Draw larger. Making larger images is much easier than making smaller ones since you can get more fluid with your mark. When working small, you tend to make short, jagged marks. You may want to do this from a stylistic point, but don't focus on style when getting started. Work on a bigger canvas. When working digitally, you can shrink the image down when you're finished.
Draw with your arm, not your wrist. This coincides with drawing larger. Drawing with your wrist limits your movement and makes your marks look sloppy.
Another visual trick that makes your art look better by default is to use a neutral, mid-tone background (like a gray or a brown). See pic. This allows you to make black and white marks to show off shadows and highlights, but also allows you to learn how to illustrate form by using value.

TBh famalam I think the reason the adventurers the traitor party ran into was given face time is that they're going to take over as new PCs, one of them was rocky and molten as if designed to take over for the barbarian.
This is our DM's art, not mine, but here's our current party. Aasimar warlock, water genasi cleric, fire genasi barbarian.

New OC folks.
Damn, I really need to nudge one of the players in my group to draw our characters...
So many stories here and I totally wish I could read about them. Any of these groups have a campaign log, or story?
I hate the notion of Kenku just having regular man hands so we went with giant wing like hands with feather fingers. Kinda like bars or pteradons.
I suck at faces but w/e.
>>54852177
And then the party I actually play in.
This picture is actually older than the first so it looks like I've actually gone backwards a bit.
