Only if they're from the same caste
>>
>>54806968
No,

Humans are part of the Slav... Helper-Caste
Real Tau are of one of the 5 Castes no exceptions.

Only members of the same caste are allowed to interbreed
>>
Alright, no marriage.
But are they allowed to do the bed sheet gymnastics with one another?
>>
Maybe but depends on the sept and the leader of the sept.

Almost certainly not, but not because of a restriction on who the human can marry, but because of a restriction on who the tau of a given caste can marry. I don't know if the tau apply their caste-based eugenics program to humans; probably not because they likely don't care enough, but a tau is not allowed to marry anything other than a tau of the same caste, no exceptions.
>>
>>54806968
Do Tau even have marriage?
>>
>>54807321
I think the tau have assigned breeding partners as part of the caste-based eugenics program.
>>
>>54806968
No, but you could fuck them.
>>
>>54807398
Actually if my memorys right they only breed with in there own caste. On a side I remember gue'vesa being allowed to selected a caste they serve based on what there skill set is and being considered honorary members of the Caste. As well on the same note for the ones that become farmers they become fire warriors at times of war.

>>
>>54807321
No, the bonding ritual is the closest thing they have to marriage. In essence, the fire warriors in a squad are all married to each other, and one can assume they fuck to blow off steam and so new fire warriors can be born.

A human would likely have more luck with a Shas'O MILF, last of her squad and open to new ideas after a few decades on the battlefield.

All bets are out the window with farsight enclaves, however. You could probably be hotblooded enough to catch the attention of Farsight's curious great-grand-niece and spar her to get close.

Why would an alien empire even have the concept of marriage? Our cultures were shaped by the conditions we arose from and our own biology, people on another planet would be in different situations and if they are aliens have different biology so there's zero reason to assume shit like marriage would exist.

The Adeptus Departemento Buerocratia is currently dealing with several pressing issues that require immediate attention, however, yor request will be attended to as soon as possible, citizen. (Approximate waiting period at 35672 terran years)

First off, the rerouting of Tech-adepts to stop the leakage of chaosfag tears during the Konor campaign. Due to the exessive amount of water flooding Departemento offices, we are required to refile and reissue any lost/damaged/destroyed/drenched documents. (This may or may not require citizens to reschedule appointements with the Departemento in order to reestablish such documents)

Secondly, due to the Cicadrix Maledictum, and many of the ensuing temporal fluctuations, most current assignements have been reschedualed. (Fear not, citizens. In the case that you have already reserved a schedule slot with the Adeptus Departemento Buerocratica, your order is being processed, and will be put through, despite delays. (Current delay estimate is at ca. 34000 terran years)

Thirdly, due to the current campaigns, plot progressions, including gathering storms, Indomitus crusades and otherwise, the Departemento Mortis Numeris is currently behind in the current deathcount of the Imperium. Thanks to the flexible nature of our glorious Imperiums beurocratic systems, several other departements have been shifted in order to accommodate this issue.

We thank you for your patience, understanding and virtue, Imperial citizen.
>>
>>54809076
Due to the workload of the Departmento Lituus Praestitor, we may be unable to give proper notification that your appointment has been rescheduled to a date <bit overflow error detected> standard Terran days in the future. >>
>>54806968
If tau from one cast can't marry outside of that cast, interspecies romance is also outside the realm of posibility I think. Reproduction in the empire is tightly controlled. Likely, you will be sterelised due to an overabundance of humans, or your waifu/husbando will be selected for the traits that the tau wish to breed into humanity (brawn, endurance, tractability i would think.)

But you would never see a tau since you would be part of the cadet/slave/vassal castes under them

you would just hear them on the radio or some shit
>>
>>54806968
No memory of there being a form of explicit marriage in Tau society, but iirc they do have a bonding rite that is sometimes for lack of a better word translated as marriage. (Looked it up: called Ta'lissera.) Maybe not what you're looking for, but probably as close as you're going to get.

Haven't heard of any cases of it being used solely between two individuals, but I see no reason why it wouldn't be. Also can see no reason why it wouldn't be okay between, say, fire-caste and honorary fire-caste members. Getting close enough to a tau to earn that companionship is probably a whole different hurdle, since gue'vesas work as separate groups, iirc.

Smexy times is probably going to be a big no-no, though, unless officials look through their fingers because it doesn't ruin the gene pool. As I recall, inter-caste breeding is banned less because of tradition and more to preserve the biological divide between castes. So under the logical assumption that humans and Tau can't produce offspring, you might have yourself a loophole.

Either way, your best odds of pulling this off is probs with the farsight enclaves.

Sex in the T'au Empire is SOLELY for procreation.
They do not marry.
They do not date.
The concept of sex as an expresion of physical intimacy doesn't even occur to them thanks to political party propaganda by the Ethereal caste.

Tau are selected for breeding by their superiors based on merit and worth. They go to a camp, they have sex until a child is made. They never see each other again.

Tau who try interbreeding, or romance, or anything of the sort are literally sent to be reprogrammed like servitors.

A human who tries it would probably wind up dead, along with the Tau.

I think Tau are not used to have recreational sex. If you for some reason have a stable work relation with a tau, you might convince them to have it, I guess.
I am really not sure about how regulated are lives of tau and humans in Tau empire to answer it for sure.
Also their genitals might not be very compatible with humans' ones.
>>
>Wanting to fuck a creature with hooves

Bestiality is not acceptable, anon.
>>
>>54806968
No, because tau don't marry tau. Breeding in the tau empire is state-controlled; tau aren't explicitly gender-segregated, but they don't have sex until and unless they get called up for breeding duty, at which point they're paired up with a selected mate, spend a few days banging, and then never see each other again.

Humans are assigned castes, actually. Presumably you'd be able to have a relationship with tau and gue'vessa in your own caste
>>
No because Marriage isn't a T'au thing. Breeding pairings are all arranged to ensure the child can best serve the greater Good.

Citation: Fire Warrior. The Captain spends a moment whistfully wishing he could bang this water caste chick, then sighs knowing it'll never happen because they're different castes and they'de never be scheduled together.

Non-committal blowing off of steam? Possibly.
>>
>>54829036
I thought that Non-Tau were Caste unto themselves. Hence why Tau have a prefix for each individual caste (Fire-Shas, Earth-Fio, Water-Por, Air-Kor, Ethereal-Aun) but all humans are referred to by "Gue".
>>
>>54829172
Gue'vesa is a human unique title. It literally means 'Human Helper"
>>
>>54829186
So yeah, wouldn't that only that Humans and other such Non-tau races are allowed to run themselves as they see fit, as long as they contribute to the Greater Good and follow the Ethereals' commands?
>>
>>54829230
In essence yes. >>54829153
is true but humans probably aren't expected to follow that, logistically it would be impractical and the T'au don't expect aliens to have the moral and spiritual fortitude to totally give their lives over to the greater good like that. Kroot are proof of that, they're allowed their own government and ships and even work as mercenaries on the sly (which IS against the rules)

Except for the Vespids who are mind controlled.
>>
>>54829036
No they aren't. Humans like Kroot, Vespid, and ever other race that join the Empire do not take part in the caste system.

>>54829230
Yes. The various different races are used as auxiliaries to sure up any weaknesses or make use of their unique skills. That's why Gue'vesa = Human Helper.
>>

The tau don't castrate humans in general, just one specific case. And I'm pretty sure that the no marriage thing is a T'au only thing. I'm pretty sure the auxiliary races are largely left to their own devices and cultures so long as it doesn't contradict or endanger the greater good. Presumably Geuvessa would continue whatever courtship and marriage practices they employed before

>yikes!, the empire of man is so evil!
then tell me, why everybody and their mothers idolize the empire?, do people only like it ironically?
>>
>>54829531
Because some (not all) of it's brutality are necessary evils to keep it running?
Because it is litterally the only force capable of defending humanity from the Edgy Wankfest that is Chaos?
Because it's got fucking cool shit like Eversors and Custodes and tanks that are essentially just moving cathedrals?!

I don't why Imperiumfags get so butthurt at not being the most heroic and noble factions. It's like, "you have lots of cool and fun shit, why do you care if the Blueberries want to be the goody-two-shoes of the setting?"
>>
>>54829531
>Grimdark
Its the Imperium you degenerate. Nobody idolizes them because nobody wants to be them. But that's the reality of the situation in 40k; the largest and best equipped faction to ensure the continued survival of humanity is a tyrannical nightmare for the vast majority of its citizens at best. Because they're the only thing holding back an uncaring if not downright hostile universe and literal demonic gods. That struggle for survival over 10,000 years has warped them into a regime that is forced to regularly push billions of citizens and soldiers into the meatgrinder just to survive another day. And its the best they can do...

Until Guilliman gets around to fixing everything and unites the galaxy under the Forces of Order of course.

If it were possible, what would a T'au-human hybrid look like?
>>
>>54834386
There's no one look. If you already make up shit that would require biology of one or both species look different then you can also imagine on your own how would a hybrid of such look like. I personally imagine a human with small or no nose and subtle blueish hint to their humanly plain skin.
>>
>>54834386
Black eyes, Asian hair, black indentations around the nose reminiscent of the tau heritage, and a middle-line paleness bordering blue if the human father is white, but it's all dependent on the mother's skinstone.

The nose is incredibly small though, sometimes as a minor genetic defect, they may lack cartilegde around that area entirely

Ears remain unaffected, if a bit smaller, and the heels of feet have hooves on them, sometimes this malforms and you get a human sole and hoof sticking out at the back of it which requires surgery.

The biggest issue would be genitals though, females may have slightly off key slits and smaller genitalia than what is expected of the humanoid side, but a higher birthrate.

The lifespan of the hybrid is 60-75 years (Barring augmentation) and they mature quicker than what is normal of humans, and are physically jailbait at around 10-12.

Some however do look uncanny valley.

You probably wouldn't anyway, because Tau mature twice as fast as humans do and die twice as early. An "old" Tau is 40 terran years old.

She'd constantly be ahead of you developmentally and physically to the point where you wouldn't even be worth her time to remember, because you're so developmentally different even without factoring in interspecies problems.

Nah I bet they met during the Great war of Confederation, where Kitten offered to help with Tau with their Greenskin problem in exchange for being given access to some of their, just in case some of it might have actually been able to help the big E. They probably Started grating, begrudging, allies of necessity to but grew closer together as time went on. I kind of like the Tau, I really do. Not only are they somewhat contrasting the grimdark - or playing a different game with it, hiding their darkness behind a kind mask - but they're interesting in that they're distinctly not a fantasy race ported into a sci-fi setting and how that tech can seem almost magic to the average human grunt. And there's all the ways they contrast the Imperium despite being somewhat similar in other ways...

But it's all worthless in the end because they're so fucking small. If it wasn't for the fact that they got a codex, they'd be another one of the million blips in the galaxy of xenos petty empires and star systems. Why should I care about a race when it requires more effort to explain why they haven't been extinguished than any effort put into what actually interests me about them?
>>
>>54851790
Making the Tau so small was a mistake. They can neither lose nor expand. They're trapped in a limbo.
>>
>>54844783
They'll still mainly use Lasguns, though can upgrade to more advanced Tau weaponry like markerlights, emp grenades and pulse weapons.
If human auxiliaries manage to prove themselves, promotions and access to better equipment are likely.

Tau practice eugenics.

So no, unless sacrificing some breeding Tau would have a net positive gain for the empire.

[Incomprehensible Cockney Sperging]
>>
>>54858615
Tau breeding is almost entirely artificial. As seen in the novels seemingly every single Tau child is born within an artificial womb in large gestation spires. Beyond the Ethereal's request for genetic material from exemplary Tau, the species has moved beyond normal breeding methods.

>>54858398
Blue is lucky, not shooty.
>>
>>54858615
Enough with this fucking Eugenics crap. They mentioned it was only for a planet that rebelled. It's a cheap argument for really out dated lore.
>>
>>54858699
>Blue is lucky, not shooty.
And the Tau just happened to have a warp storm protect them juuuust before an Imperial Crusade would have wiped them out early on when they couldn't fight back, and that storm only abated after they happened to become advanced enough to be galaxy players.
>>
In Tau culture, you don't marry a single person, you marry a group of people.

In the Fire Caste, you tend to marry your squad and to do this, you each cut yourselves with the same knife "blood bonding" each other.

Back in 3rd, if you wanted a Farsight army and to make your Fire Warrior hit as hard as IG conscripts, you needed to get the bonded upgraded.

I'd guess it would be similar in the other caste and I suppose it would be possible to blood bond with other races as long as they're part of your squad.

That was his raifu, not his waifu. Very similar concept and irks have the best raifus too, though.
>>
>>54858710
No, that's sterilization. Taught are indeed very much into selective breeding. Which is why you need to hit up the Farsight Enclaves, where you can do whatever you want so long as you're hot blooded about it.

Orks know they're not Orks, but tolerate them because Diggaz know how to salvage good shit and they're not too bad in a scrap.

Some Orks may even be downright affectionate for the humies that are at least trying to be greener.

Technically it'd be a gross misappropriation of resources where a simple lasgun would suffice, but could justified as either setting an example or for improving morale if a spectacle is made out of it.

>>54862757
They have the same general size variation as humans. But the Tau are both weaker when it comes to muscle mass and slower in reaction time compared to Humans. A trained Fire Warrior could match your average human in a fist fight, while a fit Imperial Guardsman could overpower them in melee.
