How do I find a tabletop group? Playing via Discord and Roll20 is good fun at times, but its not quite the same. The friends I play with in the real world are all new to the game, and I've always found it hard to stick with the game with them around. Plus, none of them keeps to any kind of schedule, so I'd like to find a group out in the world at large.
Unfortunately, I'm in the UK, and while board game cafes aren't irregular, Tabletop shops, in particular, are a rarity. Do any of you fine Grea/tg/entlefolk have any idea how I can get out of this predicament? I've thought of putting up notices in shop notice boards, but that's anything but free, so if there are any alternatives you guys know of, I'd appreciate it.
I just want a decent group, dedicated to a long-term game, who I can make a few friends in and bake cookies for.

Force your uninterested friends to be interested. They may initially say things like "Dude I don't care about your dumb thing," but eventually you'll wear them down. Trust me, I have a 100% failure rate with shadowrun now, but ages ago I got a whole group of guys really into dnd 4e
