I'm looking to buy a paint set because I don't want to bother with bulk buying individual pots/bottles. I've had my eye on one of the Vallejo suitcase packs for a while (can't decide between Game Color or Model Color) but I wanted to get some suggestions from fellow fa/tg/uys on the matter. Do you have any recommendations on good paint sets? Any ones I should avoid?

And just not to be a complete useless shitposter, I really like Scale75 paint sets.
They cost a bit more than other brands, but they are very smooth, and very matt.
I suggest you get yourself one of the 8 pot paint sets, and give them a try.

Game colour is a bit more glossy and more durable. The paints are more "fantastical" so it depends on what you're going to paint.
But check out Scale75, they have a Fantasy and Games range too.
Get the Vallejo airbrush paints. Even with a normal brush they have a great consistency.

Model Color is generally smoother and looks better, but until varnished will rub off if you look at it the wrong way. Also, different palettes. VGS is the whole rainbow, VMC has more military stuff, a million greens greys and browns but it's lacking in bright color selection.

I was going to suggest this. I wouldn't order the sets of 8 though. It's much more practical to buy the paints you want individually, and then mix them on a paint palette.
They're also not too much more expensive, and you can stretch out their life longer since they have more pigment that you can use water on.

Why?tfw I was planning on doing this
Is there a way for me to pick out individual paints I want to buy online? None of the hobby store in my area sell anything but citadel paints, and Amazon seems to mostly be on the business of selling Vallejo kits.
