Possibly start with just terrain hazards such as lava flows, fire spreading, amd extreme heat situations. From there, you could spread it to fiery fauna, or have it be that confused strays are trying to find their life giving heat and panicking across the area. From there, maybe azer, or an efreet trying to get through that has to be held off.
