So what purpose, lore wise, do Tactical marines serve given that they've been through several tours of duty to get there, but have the worst equipment loadout of anyone in the chapter?

Like, would it not make more sense to go Scout, Devastator, Assault Marine, Veteran? If they can make enough plasma, flamers and meltas for guard surely they can afford to properly equip Astartes battle brothers.

Same goes for Intercessors really: Those should probably be the heavy bolter equivalent to the hellblasters plasma weaponry.

For my DG army I feel like Lord of Contagion is a waste if I already have Typhus, but I have been kicking around the idea of deep striking him behind their lines on round 2/3 after they spread enough for it to be nasty while Typhus babysits the poxwalkers. Would that be a huge waste of points or could he do some work? He has a pretty solid line up of saves, good melee, and nurgle's gift to help out

Except their supposed role is tactical flexibility, and no matter how you cut it they're worse equipped than assault marines and devs. Hell, even scouts can still take bolters, but can also swap to other loadouts dependent on their mission.

It works fine with Sternguard, because they have specialist ammunition for a broad range of scenarios and can swap out more members of a team for specialist gear. My argument is Tacs are completely redundant in lore to Sternguard.

By RAW this unit on the bastion, assuming you're using it as a normal piece of terrain, is entirely immune to being charged by any unit in the game. This is because a unit at the base of the bastion will never be within 1" of the units on top and cannot move on top themselves as they can't fit on the bastion itself and you can't move through other models.

This applies to any terrain that elevates a unit above 1" that you can fit a unit into. Nor is this only applicable to infantry units. If you can fit or balance your walkers/landraiders/knights/predators etc on high terrain they become immune to charges too. Glorious!

They won't. It's not even worth considering because the case against them is so tenuous if not outright false

The alleged copy right infactions, namely the use of space marine, doesn't matter for two reasons:
1) GW already has precedent on this when they filed a C&D against someone for using space marine. The basic result was the term can't be controlled in that manner
2) GW has protected names for all it's 40k stuff. This exact thing is why the official term is Adeptus Astartes, so they can shut down these cases before they start.

Wrong. See "Stepping Into A New Edition" FAQ. They don't need to balance on an actual level surface. Even if your guys are on the edge they can just charge partway up the wall and attack from the wall. Because models can scale walls, walls are legal places for them to end their move, they just can't actually be placed there so you use wobbly model syndrome to mark the place on the wall where they are.

There is no way to block charges with vertical terrain from units that can climb said terrain.

For my Guard codex, I'd like to see Conscripts nerfed some. Possibly restricted in how many you can take. Super heavy turrets to have the same rule as Russ turrets. Rough Riders similar to DKoK and having options to mount leaders. I'd also like a points in crease for plasma guns, heavy bolters and mortars. They are stupid cheap and make other options stupid to take. I also hope for Catachans getting WS3+.

For Inquisition, I'd like Acolytes to have more upgrade variety and be a unit size of 1-10. If they are only 1 wound, I want them to be able to have Storm Shields, Carapace Armor and be at least WS3+, maybe BS3+. As they are now, they are just Guardsmen Sergeants who can take hits for Inquisitors. Inquisitors also having a 5++ and access to power armor. Oh and Inquisitors having BS/WS2+.

Reivers are Primaris Assault Marines, Inceptors/Aggressors are Primaris Crisis Suits/Broadsides, and Intercessors don't use special weapons so they don't need the training as Hellblasters first.

They will be replaced sooner or later. I doubt its a forced thing, so GW can always claim "guys, we still sell them!" but so far they get units for many different roles. Soon they will get more characters, flyers and other shenanigans.
The same will happen with chaos. DG + TS are already not in the codex anymore and will or have received new sculpts.
WE and EC will be next and will also get larger berserkers / NM or bile primaris.
The "rest" of chaos will, during a campaign/story event be unified, removing the need to support the other legions. Abaddon will gain access to corrupted primaris and voila, the whole chaos range has to buy into new models while at the same time fading out the marinelets on both sides.

Just checked through all the high def stills of the Chaos Codex. There are no rules anywhere to take Berzerkers or Noise Marines as Troops for WE/EC. You need the Index to do so. Just thought people should know who don't have the Index.

Did it perform well? My sole Onager can use either Neutron or Icarus, although because it was one of my first models I accomplished that by gluing the rocket box on as well as the Neutron barrel and just counting it as either.
I need to get some more Onagers, was just going to have three Neutrons given ample midrange fire from Kastys and Destroyers and such.
