At what level is too much anime for a character to have at your table?

Depends on how angry about anime the anon replying to you is.

What makes a character anime?
>>54742436
Never.
I'm running a game with a mermaid/selkie/monster bard who sings in the True Speech, and is so beautiful it stuns other creatures. Then I've got a Shadow Demon from another dimension- who is of course a handsome bishie prince, and turns into a huge abomination when he wants to.
Then finally, I've got an elf warmage who has a hundred weapons and spent centuries fighting in a single eternal battle.
It's a lot of fun.

>someone else actually runs selkie characters
Damn. This doesn't strike me as particularly anime, rather this is somewhat obscure western mythology. Tell that guy I'm proud of him.

Either everyone's gotta be full anime, or nobody should be, because your game sounds like fun, but toss one of those characters into a normal game with standard fantasy characters and suddenly they're a snowflake.
>character is anthro animal/furry outside of tengu and lizardfolk
>Big weeb swords
>Being the chosen one jacjk-of-all-trades-master-of-all in their back story
>shadow auras on level 1 LG Paladins in DnD
>Wielding more than 2 pistols
>katanas and throwing stars without any of the honorabru
>"edgy" bastardizations of Japanese/chinese tropes

what this guy said
Right now I'm in an oriental campaign playing an oni-spawn teifling that is a kensai with a magic sentient katana.
When a player unironically describes their character as a "loli" or unironically describes their character in terms of anime cliches (tsundere/yandere/etc).
I'm fine with anime. Hell, my whole group is full of weebs who love anime, and we usually use anime-styled character art. I even played a fucking undead kitsune princess once. But I expect something a bit more creative than just anime cliches, and you come off as a creepy fuck if refer to a girl as a "loli".
Other than that, go full anime. Wield an impossibly huge and impractical sword, play a monster girl, utilize the powers of Ninjitsu, describe how the spell your using is a fucking spirit bomb. Do whatever the fuck you want. Just make sure it's at least something creative that you won't get bored of three sessions into the campaign.
