How many of your characters have died in a single game?

Worst I've ever done was two dead characters and seven deaths (and various resurrections, body jumps, magical re-constitutions, and undeath) with a single other character in one campaign.

Are we counting clone bodies with mind uploads as deaths?
And what about hive-mind gestalt organisms?
If the former, 87. If the latter, 1.2 million or so. If neither, 3.
Question: Are you making these characters and letting your players use them, or are they actually making them on their own?
When my players die they're response is usually "No, I didn't even come up with a concept for a second character, no I don't want to make a new character, I'd rather just go and play GTA5" or something along those lines.
As a result, neither I, nor my players, have died.

Dungeon Crawl Classics, somewhere near 8
Everything else, a whopping 0 because most GMs in non-OSR games are too pussy to kill you.

When players die, they tend to not have much response on account of being dead.

My players' characters go on adventures, make mistakes, go at it alone, and get killed all the time.
I had one player go through a year long game with the same character, start to finish. But some of the other players kept getting killed.
But they always just make a new character and play again.
