Are there any magic systems that can achieve the same stuff as D&D magic, or is there a jump that lets you visit a D&D setting that is edition agnostic I'm not a fan of 3.5e and don't want to need to reference the game mechanics.

Well, there's Neverwinter Nights, which isn't the most well fleshed out Jump, but doesn't reference a specific edition that I can see.

Or you could use Dragonlance, which has the Drawback Precarious Port for no points. It switches everything to a different edition of D&D. Though, honestly, nothing in the Jump Document itself really references the system and it uses fluff instead. So you could always just run off the fluff.

Either that or you could do what everyone else does and head over to Overlord, which is apparently Dungeons and Dragons magic lite.

Alright watcha got?

That sad feeling you get when you really want to see/make a jump for a setting that isn't finished yet.

I'm tempted to just make a half assed jump for my own private use.

I think the Anima system can do roughly the same stuff? Along with Overlord (LN/M/A).

Neverwinter Nights is a 3.5 game. It was actually a big ad for 3.5 FR back in the day.

If you insist.

More progress on mechanics. Rogues finished, save the final one, and Princess precursor section also finished. All that's left is Princesses, then the endings.

>>54721239
Why even talk about it here then?

>Nier Automata

So in sum. If Chrom has 100 hp, it would take just over 1500 damage to even damage him at all. And then with this…

>Nier Automata
>Bag of Chips
>Anti Chain Chips
>6 seconds of invincibility after every hit

Temp invincibility for 12 seconds. I can use two of the same chip, right? I'll pick up regen from somewhere else. And then to top it all off…

FFXI Paladin Capstone

600 Invincibility- As the party vanguard (tank) you are going to end up out front in the thick of battle most of the time. In a battle you are often the last line of defense for your
party, as you cut your group a bloody path through your foes there may come a time when you just cannot continue, you are wounded or badly injured and the next few
moments are what decide if your party will live or die. That is where this perk comes in, this perk is actually an ability, the ability to once a day make you and 5 other people
completely invulnerable for 5 minutes. For those 5 minutes what you can accomplish is staggering and though this ability can only be used once per day its power should not be
underestimated.
>>

So, if you were going to update the Body Mod and Warehouse, how'd you do it?

Warehouse
>increase prices/stipend to minimum 50 cost
>remove Forcewall
>remove "time stops in warehouse" and "people can't be inside without you"
>specify that warehouse and attatched properties can be used to ferry non-companions or followers to later jumps
>specify that GravityLink can also increase (up to double?) the gravity
>tiers of robots, from simple retrieval drones to automated forklift-like androids
>remove Hardsuit
>make Link not require Portal, but instead provide extra Key
>specify that terminal automatically logs things/people
>remove the "can only be purchased once" restriction from Free Space
>500 CP stipend

Body Mod
>make stat tiers more realistic/less specific
>get rid of body types, replace with four ranks worth of stats
>make "Bestial" a perk
>add two additional ranks to Genderswap, one for at-will, another for mix and match
>assume the first rank of Flexibility is covered by Dexterity, raise price by 100
>assume Winged is covered by Bestial
>Raise price of Metavore, Everclensed
>1000 CP stipend
>>
>>54721267
You are more likely to get metal element than anything. You could still make lots of swords with it though.
>>
>>54721286
You can't stack chip effects past their "max" value (which is six seconds in this case) but, if you minmax your chips, getting that 6 seconds of invulnerability only costs you 21 memory, and if you're fully upgraded you have 128 memory to work with. That's purely in the game itself, to be clear. I'm not including any jumper shenanigans.
>>
>>54721286
Chips don't actually stack. They can only give up to a max, so 6 seconds is all you can get.
>>
>>54721327

I think the series actually flip-flops a bit on whether the transformations are physical, or just heavy-duty illusions

Like, a kunoichi might need a specialized jutsu to get another woman pregnant, instead of the vanilla transformation technique.
>>
>>54721377
Damn.

>>54721366

I dunno it's pretty consistently physical. Naruto turns into the shuriken, he makes his toad the kyuubi, he turns into a shitload of rocks Pain was standing around.
>>
>>54721358
There are a metric fuckton of Affinities. Really, the author said there's an Affinity for pretty much everything. So I'm sure that he'd be able to cultivate his Sword Affinity,

I'm pretty sure that's fanon. I mean it's not like Sasuke told him he was a fucking moron for trying to turn into a shuriken or the toad asked to be transformed so it could look like it had fangs and claws.

For ranged versatility, you could get an Arm Cannon from Metroid, or a ZF-1 from The Fifth Element, or a Multi-Gun from The Polity.
Or that trick weapon from Bloodborne that turns a pair of blades into a bow and back.
>>
>>54721286
You should also get Guts, another Armor Skill in Monster Hunter, so that as long as your HP is over 70% the lowest an attack can bring your HP to is 1. Also, Glittering Gold is a lot more than a 30% defense increase, it says that "attacks that may have wounded you once will need to be used dozens or hundreds of times just to draw blood". So more like a 10000% increase. Stack that with a base form that already gives you lots of durability (I like Barbadium Body, takes planet-busting attacks to even break your skin) and you're going to be pretty tough.

Okay, let's see. Barbadium Body takes a planet-buster to even scratch, so 10^32 joules right there. Times a hundred, so 10^35 joules. Kavacha and Kundala EX requires an attack to be 100 times stronger than normal to do the same amount of damage, so 10^37 joules. And just breaking your skin is a lot less than 10% of your health, so say a hundred times more to not proc Personal Shield? So 10^39 joules in order to hurt you. That's a lot of damage. Let me put this in slightly more accessible terms. If you took an amount of TNT equal in mass to THE SUN, it would release upon detonation an amount of energy approximately 8.28x10^33 joules. It would take that much, channeled into a single point, to cause you any actual harm.
>>
>>54721434
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sHZaaGlnmZyBouBMXMyx7WPhs4B6CwsOwRAINOd1W3Y/edit#gid=222637769

The other chip I would recommend is the one that allows you to absorb some of the damage you take back as HP.
>>
>>54721554
Excuse me, I made a slight typo. It would take over ten thousand times that much, channeled into a single point, to cause you any actual harm.
>>
Is Leviathan The Tempest finished?
>>
>>54721587

>>
>>54721491
That's the thing that gets to me, it's mentioned as genjutsu, illusion, several times and yet they seem to expect Naruto to be able to transform physically. Noone ever bats an eye. I've no clue what it's supposed to be.
>>
>>54721344
What is CRA?
>>
>>54721497
>>54721444
The question of how 'real' transformations are in Naruto is a subject of some debate. The general assumption I see is that most standard transformations rely on creating a pseudo-object out of chakra and sort of replacing your normal body with that. This helps explain how transformations are easily disruptable, and also how Naruto is still capable of thinking and reacting while his body is a rock or shuriken.

But hey, it's all fanon.
>>
>>54721602
Sakura uses it as an illusion too, during the exams.

>>54721624
Fanon "justification" for giving Naruto a group of fuckpu- I mean a kind and loving harem that loves him and each other. It stands for Clan Restoration Act.
>>
>>54721624
Clan Registration Act. Basically an exuse to give Naruto an harem, though I could actually see it being an actual thing.

>>
>>54721680
>>54721684

>>
>>54721624
Clan Restoration Act. It's a concept that shitty fanfiction uses as an excuse to give Naruto a harem, under the justification of spreading the Namikaze genes (very rarely Uzumaki, since most of the fanfics using it were written before the idea of the Uzumaki being a famous clan was introduced by the series). This despite the fact that there's zero evidence that the Namikaze were anybody. For all we know, Minato's parents were bakers. Well, fishermen is more likely, given that "Namikaze" means "sea wind", but you know what I mean. He's never referenced as being from a clan. I actually prefer for him to have not been, in a world where everyone else is special because of their legacy I like the idea that he was just some nobody that rose to become one of the most powerful people in the world.

I've never seen that one. Usually it's "Konoha villagers would abuse Naruto, giving him an excuse to really be all cool and edgy with his doofy personality just being a mask he adopted to convince them he wasn't a threat". Because that one has so much canon support, right? It's not like his honorary grandfather has a legion of stealthy superhuman killers able to watch over him, or anything like that. And of course, people who were scared of and hated him because they thought he was a giant killer monster in disguise would definitely do things to earn his ire instead of just quietly shun him and keep out of his way.

Could do Intelligence, Wisdom, Creativity, Resistance, Subconscious Actions or the like, and Willpower. Perks an inversion of the Body Mod's. Bestial into Inhuman Comprehension, Evercleansed into mental control starts to slip off you, and so on and so forth.

Question about Fate and Nobunaga: "Her" Noble Phantasms are listed as E~EX. How would one price that out in the Servant Supplement? Buy it as an E-rank Noble Phantasm and explain the EX rating as it interacting with Innovation? Or would you have to shell out the points to get it up to EX?

I'm pretty sure I just became a massive fan of MORE DAKKA Nobunaga.

Yeah, I was just typing up a response to my own post that Innovation is apparently on the Ban List. Which, I mean, I guess I understand. Kind of kills the whole Nobunaga train of ideas though.

Probably just as well. Just filling in the Stats and getting the Skills (minus Innovation) but to the right levels already put Nobunaga 275 CP into the hole.

Even if we downgrade the Free Nobel Phantasm to E rank, then buy a second one. that's still 225 in the hole, which ramps up to -425 CP if Innovation could be taken.

Not an insurmountable hole, but you'd have to invest some CP into her to get her right. I would say one could just buy the Noble Phantasms at EX rank, but that's HORRIFYINGLY expensive. Like... 1,025 extra SP expensive.

Which sucks, because I rather like the description of Nobunaga's personality.

>>54722415
See above for Nobunaga.

"Seals" are part of an amazingly shitty translation into English.
In japanese there are three things that mainly get refereed to as "seals" in the English translation, Hand Signs (shirushi), Spell Formulas (jutsu shiki), and Sealing Spells (fuinjutsu). Hand signs are the little symbols ninja make to use ninja spells/techniques (ninjutsu), Spell Formulas apply those handsigns through a piece of paper kind of like a scroll with a spell on it would in a DnD game, Sealing Spells lock something away within something else and can be anything from physically entrapping someone in rocks to sending them into a pocket dimension full of sake.

So "Seals" as in Sealing Spells (fuinjutsu) can put stuff in other stufff, "Seals" as in hand signs (shirushi) can be used to activate ninja spells and techniques, and "Seals" as in Spell Formulas (jutsu shiki) can be used to cast spells like a scroll.

Viz translated all of these with the generic term "seals" because early Viz Naruto is literally the fucking worst and by the time they had a decent translation team the word choice had already been made.

If you have both Realm of Heroes and Level 100 in Overlord, is it fair to fanwank that you have some skill to let you cast without words/gestures?
>>
>>54722483
Handsigns are generally referred to as hand seals instead of just seals, except when it's [X] seal when referring to the hand seals used to cast a jutsu.
>>
>>54722696
Companions that are Demon Weapons still count as companions no matter which form they take. Black Blood Weapon Companion is a different case, as they're literally part of your body they don't count towards the companion limit.
>>
Would LA count as a center of scientific research for Genius?
>>
>>54722761
Actually when does Genius start?
>>
>>54722717
Probably not, Overlord is an MMO and skill does not have much to do with things, the Realm of Heroes boost just gives you raw power. But fanwank when appropriate, we do not know that much about the ranked magic system to begin with.

If you choose the Rouge class skill it would be more likely that their some sort of silent casting within it, but again we don't know.
>>
>>54722717
Fairly sure the casting while talking is a meta and not a mechanic. You'd say what you're casting in a group so that someone can get the fuck out of the way or in the way depending. In that same vain you might cast a Frostball while saying Fireball to throw someone off. Fairly sure it was just habitual. I could look at the omake where I think this is said (more or less) but I really don't want to right now.
>>
>>54722791

Ah, okay. Just the jump makes mention of needing words and gestures and I know some D&D videogames have fairly detailed metamagic includes that sort of thing.
>>
>>54721880

Generally speaking, they'd be something that would affect your whole chain, the way your warehouse is an integral part from your second jump onwards.

At the low end, probably something like "Food spoils fast when kept in the warehouse and you're not in it" and "all the embarassing stuff you do in the warehouse is televised or acted out in mocking plays where television doesnt exist"

up to stuff like "occasionally extradimensional threats may come into your warehouse and wait for you to open it up" and "People left in the warehouse when you close the door die"

Goku hit his head on a rock as a baby. We're told point blank his personality was basically Raditz before then, so yes he's brain damaged.

Super tries to justify Goku starting this tournament by saying he was ignorant of what Zen-oh would make the stakes and that Zen-oh had intended to do it anyway (but this is countered in turn by the fact that Zen-oh had forgotten), but this was after Beerus and Wiss had told him that his naivety would cost the universe and to not get too close to Zen-oh because he was dangerous. He ignored them. That said, at least Goku has the presence to be horrified when universes get erased because of him.

Depends on how big your powerlevels are. Some of those 108 are stupidly strong, some are psychotically stupid, and if they're fighting over you, you will get involved.

But if you can just outmatch them in the first place, it's not a problem.
>>
>>54723189
Zen-oh forgot. Chances are he'd never remember he was gonna erase people.

And no, the universe has one winner. All the tournament does is give one universe (you know it's going to be 7) of the 8 in the tourney the chance to survive.

By the by, that'd leave 5 universes out of an original 18, the other 13 all being destroyed directly by Zen-oh.

>Some of the Yggdrasil gold melted under the skeletal hands and flowed onto the parchment as if it had a will of its own. The golden fluid flowed to a point on the parchment before spreading out. In the time it took to take a breath, there was an intricate golden magic circle on top of the parchment. “Ready.”
>Mare quickly cast the spell after waiting tensely and he could feel his magic being sucked into the magic circle. A regular scroll would have been complete at that stage, or so Mare thought. Until—

In short, they're trying to make a scroll and it doesn't seem Mare needs to say his spell to help one of the librarians to do so or perhaps that's just in relation to creating magical items. Perhaps not though because this is the only time I can think of in which a spell was used that wasn't from and item and was never explicitly explained what it was before or after. Rolling Counter from Mother prevents damage from taking effect for a moment. Weak Point from I M Meen is, well, less of a "weak point" and more of a straight-up durability multiplier. Insta-Shield from Classic Sonic and Time-Out from A Super Mario Thing are both forms of temporary invulnerability. And then... Deja Vu from Overwatch allows you to "revert" any damage or effect you've sustained in the last few seconds?

There are also a couple of jumps which I've made that are incomplete (they've got a framework, but the only bits fleshed out are those I was personally interested in.)

>>
>>54723076
I mean, if you don't want a huge superharem that's a reason (Although for some reason I don't think that this is a problem for most Jumpers).

MBI might try to kill you, but it is probabnle that most Jumpers would have defense against that, and even if they don't Matsu and Kocho would likely work together to stop them from orbital lazer bombing you and the average sekirei is more than a match for MBI's troops.

So there is no actual reason not to take it as far as I can see.
>>
How dangerous is the World of Darkness? I'm worried that I might be overwhelmed by the drawbacks I took for Genius.
>>
>>54723518
Well, there are cases where the worship is actually part of the mechanism, rather than the source of power. Messianic charms of Infernals aren't powered by worship - Like all charms they're powered by Essence - Instead the cult is part of the charm itself. You could have all the Essence you want, but without the cult you can't make the Charms work.

Yeah, but it seems like somewhere along the road, he sorta...de-railed in characterization? I mean, even as early as the original Dragon Ball, he gives up his Grandpa Gohan's Dragon Ball to revive the Native-American stereotype. Or storming Muscle Tower to repay whats-his-face for saving him from freezing. Not exactly stuff a selfish person would do.

All this isn't helped by how the anime and the manga seem to have differing characterizations of him.

>>54723623
I feel it's not really derailed. His love of fighting stems a lot from his innate racial love for it as a saiyan, but he was raised not as a saiyan. So that's why he is a mostly good if dim person who will sometimes act selfishly in order to get good fights or encourage that same behaviour in those he thinks share the same mindset. Most of his selfish behaviour comes down to sparing strong opponents even when he shouldn't. You can be selfish in some ways without being 100% selfish.
>>
>>54723608
Um, maybe? Can you post the jump in-thread so we can tell you?

Possibly; I'm going to work on adding new combinations once the actual Jump is released. That's a pretty good one though.
>>
>>54723601
Infernals was convenient to illustrate that there are cases where power doesn't necessarily come from worship (though, to be fair, all Exalts can draw power from worship - it's just completely separate from what power is used for.)

Just something to keep an eye out for.

If you're talking "and I also took the drawback that makes all the rest of the WOD franchises real as well"...you've got a lot more of that to worry about.

As long as you don't even know there's a curtain for someone to hide all the freakish shit behind, it's largely only slightly more dangerous than the real world.
Unfortunately, the entire premise of the WoD games and jumps, even the various mortals options, is that you're already on the far side of the curtain. In that case - Pretty damned dangerous. The closer you are to baseline mortal, the worse it gets.
And make no mistake - Geniuses and Mages alike are pretty close to baseline mortals - if you can catch them off guard or unprepared.

Danger doesn't necessarily mean "things that want to murder you" however.

Global conspiracy feels too strong compared to all the other 400s. The limitation is there but you're upgraded to deal with world wide stuff anyway so it doesn't do much. I think that option shouldn't be in the jump because it's much higher power level than anything else in the jump

>>
>>54724497
I think it should either be removed or made into a more expensive nondiscounted purchase, since taking it improves every other option too. Of course, not removing it still runs into the problem of it being way above the rest of the jump, which feels more based on smaller scale creepypasta than SCP organisations.
>>
>>54724350
Is Containment Training referring to Security Training when it mentions Strike Training?

I feel like Global Conspiracy is a bit over the line. Having at least one base in every continent with an appropriate increase in resources and burdens is fine by me, but the part about having government support- especially where there is a dedicated purchase for that in another tree- just seems unnecessary to me.

Jump #385: DC Occult
>Justice: Things set to rights. Karma restored.
This is the sort of card I'd hope for after the scenario I picked.
>Power Source: Half-Blood
>Identity: Prince Jumper, of Jumperworld
Would that be Prince Crux, of Crossworld? Wait, am I the half-blood prince?! God damn it, I see what you did there!
>Scenarios: (+900) The Books of Magic, Trigon Be Gone
Oh, lovely, I've been sent to one of the realities where I can go up to Raven and go "you had literally had one job". Except she's probably dead, and I have to save a kid from the locals since reality is in an unhappy state.
>Drawbacks: (+600) Interesting Times, The Chosen One
I THINK A REALITY WHERE TRIGON WON IS DEFINITELY INTERESTING TIMES. GEE I WONDER WHAT I WAS CHOSEN TO DO.
>Mystical Sensitivity (2400)
At least with all the rest of the insanity running around - and make no mistake, there is a LOT of it - I'll be able to pick up on details I'd have otherwise missed before now.
>Talking is a Free Action (2000)
Useful, to be sure. Never know when you might need to say something in a hurry. Like "hyper clock up".
>The Moving Finger Writes (1400)
So instead of me having to hunt down perks to mitigate the downsides of certain magics and whatnot... now I just increase the casting cost of such spells in order to keep my soul pure, or not have to sacrifice people for the proper effect if I have enough mana going into it. Why, yes, I CAN quantify the price of a soul. It's less than you think. Wait, I think this means my magic is vegan-safe now.
>Twisted Sister (Free, Half-Blood)
Compulsions, hypnotism, that stuff's boring. At least all I have to worry about dealing with is the bigger stuff, and I have other measures in place for that.
>Dark And Troubled Times (Free, Half-Blood)
At least I know how to blend in where I need to.
>Blessing of Delirium (1200, Half-Blood)
Delirium is a sweetheart honestly. She reminds me of Luna Lovegood. I wish I got to talk to her a little more, but that is dangerous to do.
>>
>>54724525
Many, when using Quirk Marriage, you put the Quirks together and the new Quirk counts as the highest Tier between them. You don't empower the components before quirk marriage.
>>
>>54724580
>Highway To Hell (Free, Prince)
I can step between dimensions normally, but now I can step into pocket universes and whatnot? Useful, I suppose.
>Thirteen (900, Half-Blood)
Considering I'm in a reality where a demon prince took over the planet, I think having blanket immunity to any and all magic will be useful. --wait, what do you mean I already have two perks that do this?! WELL NOW I AM THREE TIMES AS IMMUNE TO MAGIC AS SOMEONE WHO'S IMMUNE TO MAGIC, SO THERE.
>Dimension Lord (Free, Prince)
So basically I now have a pocket dimension the size of Ohio. You know what, I'll just merge this with the rest of my pocket dimensions in my soul and keep it consistent.
>Carefully Chosen Words (600, Half-Blood)
>Tower of Fate (0, Half-Blood)
Those last two, I'll be getting once the jump ends. I can live without the Tower of Fate, but it sounds pretty useful in case I go to a jump that suffers a total existence failure. It's more likely than you think. As far as the other... that's basically Jack Slash's superpower, or so I'm told.

First things first, to start this jump, I started in the pocket world rather than elsewhere, which gave me a lot of time to check it out and deal with a sudden influx of idiots and low-grade demons. It would seem that the issue with having your own pocket world the size of Cuba is that everyone else wants to try to steal it. Or eat it. Or do weird things.

I mean, there's this one guy who found his way in and got lost for two days until he wandered into the city and dropped off some kid that he'd been dragging around, right at my feet, then disappeared. So of course I sit down with the kid, who has attracted MORE invaders by dint of just being here, and we talk a while. I find out that Earth's gone to hell in a handbasket (because how the hell would I know its current state?) and he's supposedly got some kind of fantastic fate or something, but nobody's bothering to take care of him because they're trying to protect what's left of Earth.
>>
>>54724596
He's a nice enough kid, though, and I promise to teach him whatever he wants to learn. But first, Earth needs to get un-fucked, so I leave him in the city with Elodie and Louise to take care of him.

Instead, I go to the warehouse to get some gear that's been sitting since Doom, along with the Magic Skull from the days of Actraiser. I get my armor to assume an appropriate form and head to Earth, walking from one end of the continent to the other while Trigon's minions attack me progressively more strongly, seeking to take me before him. The land's left purified in my wake, the skull sucking out the diabolic energies and glowing cherry red with heat as it hovers, following me. Sure, I'm at a quarter of my normal power, but... come on, none of these scrubs have a prayer against a late-game jumper.

When I get to Trigon's gaudy castle made of dark magic... I start using Blade Blacksmith. Highschool DxD was a long time ago, but I still occasionally use it as a pseudo-Gate of Babylon type of attack. That is, manifest holy swords and launch them like arrows at certain unholy opponents and targets. The castle's half destroyed by the time Trigon emerges in a fury and engages me. I put up a good fight, of course, and holy blades aplenty pierce him before the battle begins to take its toll on me and I start ceding more and more ground. And when it becomes too much, I finally make a run for it, heading to my pocket dimension.

He does, of course, follow me.

Now, those of you who did not see this as an obvious trap, with me going to a place where I am four times more powerful than I was while I was holding my ground against Trigon earlier, please raise your hands. Now please smack yourselves in the back of the heads, because did you really think I didn't have every second of this planned out with all the clairvoyance and precognition I have? Yes, yes, late-game jumpers are hax.
>>
>>54724509
>>54724518
I feel like having a base on every continent and removing the bit about having government support is what I'll do.

And yeah, Security Training is what Strike Training was renamed to.
>>
>>54724615
Regardless, the White Blade can and will kill anything up to and including concepts, and I can make sure the universe won't fall apart if those concepts' living embodiments die. Trigon is no such concept, and despite being rather tall, I can still abuse powers he wasn't seeing in our fight - haste and hilariously amplified speed for me, slowing the passage of time for him, and pulling all kinds of magic out of nowhere that he wasn't expecting, along with what is functionally unlimited blade works - all you have to do is block his retreat and it becomes a battle of attrition.

Frankly, if he hadn't followed me, it might have taken a whole lot more effort to plan and carry out his execution than it did.

Things after that were a lot more straightforward. I used a lot of scry-and-die to exterminate demons on Earth as quickly as I could, and after that pulled together as many survivors from the magic community for a ritual to mass-resurrect folks. Obviously this isn't going to work for everyone that died, but... surprisingly, when given the choice to come back to a world that's in the midst of rebuilding, about four out of five adults were willing. Not a lot of kids because holy shit that was traumatic, but even then, some were.

I used as many self-duplication perks as I could to visit with everyone who lived, and offered to take away any harsh memories they didn't want. Surprisingly, a (slim) majority of people declined, because it meant they knew what they'd survived. After that... well, it was a matter of putting the world back together. Sure, it's four-billion-and-change strong instead of six, and I've NEVER used that much magical energy before in ANY jump, but... well, I've got solutions for that problem, the least of which is a microverse that's been tweaked to pump out nothing but pure energy in any format I wish, in massive amounts, because Minecraft is best craft and EMC is a flexible energy supply.
>>
>>54723876
Daggerfall and Saint Seiya(s). Also, Wukong said he wanted to update JttW, but I haven't seen anything about that in awhile.
>>
>>54724622
As for the kid... he watched the aftermath, helped rebuild. I and my companions trained him, helped instill a sense of morals in him, but still with the flexibility needed to get things done and a willingness to work outside the box instead of letting himself get trapped in a no-win scenario. Sure, there's some crazy stuff happening on Earth, but I'm confident that he'll be able to deal with it all and come out of it smelling like a rose. Usually.

If you do come to the conclusion it's too much even without the government stuff and replace it, would you consider splitting the option into two general purchases (one of which gives you another HQ in a country/continent of your choice, while the other gives you several minor bases in a country/continent of your choice)?

I don't feel strongly that the option would be too much but I thought about this after my first post and I don't want to just let the idea rot.

As I drove off into that beautiful sunset, I was assaulted with a feeling of vertigo, like my entire body was being pulled upwards. The scenery melted away and out of view, and I couldn't feel the handlebars of my Trychaser anymore. Then, my feet rested against a flat concrete floor. At least, it felt like concrete. It was a bit cold and dark, so I couldn't quite make out where I was.

Then, the area came to life above me - fluorescent bars of artificial light above, the glass of three nondescript human-sized tubes resting against the wall in front of me. I glanced around. I could see a sunny day shining outside the tiny windows of the Warehouse, but I felt no light or warmth from them…in fact, the air was more than a bit chilly. Instinctively covering my arms, I looked around to see what had brought me to this place.

Well. It went without saying, didn't it?

"I thought it was supposed to be ten years before we saw each other again?...did I miss up, somehow?"

It was difficult to describe seeing her in words. It's a bit like staring deeply into a bright light long enough that your eyes start to see colors and shapes that aren't really there, all while it burns its way into your retinas. Sometimes I saw a beautiful woman. Sometimes I saw a young girl. Sometimes I saw a billion-billion suns exploding in some distant galaxy. Maybe my brain was just struggling to process the entity I was looking at, or maybe she was just showing off?

"No, you're fulfilled your end of the bargain…admirably. You fought when others would cower. You risked what others would safeguard. After all, an adventure is all about taking risks, is it not?"

I suppose.

"You are still afraid?"

I mean…yes, why wouldn't I be? I felt like I was fighting myself more than I was fighting the Grongi. Wielding that kind of power and fighting with it…it was really terrifying. I hope I don't fight something that vicious again.

"If you do not fight, you will not survive."

…seriously? You're going to pull that line on me? She ignores my complaint and paces - floats? - around me.

"A protagonist needs antagonists. A hero needs villains. A battle needs sides. And Jumpers are strongest with a reason to fight and battle. The luxury I give you is choosing what you wish to fight for, and when you will fight and how."

So I'd face things like the Grongi again…?

"You will defeat things like the Grongi again. That is the opportunity you're being given. Unless…you wish to return home?"

I looked at my hands. I was still shaking. I always had tremors in my hands that persisted for most of my life, but it was especially pronounced now, whenever I hadn't balled them into fists. Going home with just this power and a motorcycle…it felt -wrong-. Like I was wasting a chance I was given.

After some hesitation, I shook my head. "Not yet. Will you be sending me to back to that world?"

"I had somewhere else in mind. In the meantime, get accustomed to your surroundings." Her presence drifted away from me, towards a corner in the Warehouse. "It will be your new home, after all." Then, she was gone.
I stared up at the lights on the ceiling before taking a long sip of bottled water I found nearby. If water were somehow capable of tasting more bland than normal, this was it. I blinked before setting the bottle on my leg, still held in my hand.

"Well, nowhere to go but up, right?"

Alright, Evil-jumpers. How do you do it? How do you keep up the villainy, and how did you turn down that path in the first place?

I feel like rolling some of my other ideas into an evil-chain, but I'm just not sure where to start.
>>
>>54725359
Outside of cackling cartoonish villainy, most "evil" folks aren't out to simply spread evil, but instead are taking a ruthless course to achieve their true goals heedless of the opinions of any who oppose them.

but then we also have worlds with alignment systems, so whatever.
>>
>>54725359
Having an abusive childhood where you figure out there is no such thing as good or evil and that everything ultimately comes down to numbers helps. Otherwise I'm sure there's perks for that somewhere. Just become a demon. Sure that will make killing children and such worthwhile more than not at all.

I bought an evil organization option at jump 1 so I could have plentiful resources and people to do the dangerous things in my stead. That just kinda snowballed until I ended up being leader of several crime syndicates and at least one toku-style terrorist organization.

The biggest hurdle to being evil for me is that it usually results in characters I like hating me and that feels terrible. But knowing how to properly hide my drug trade and arms dealing helped a lot.
>>
>>54725359
I became a villain because...well, it's fun. That's pretty much it, to be honest. It's a ton of fun to be a stylish phantom thief, or a cackling mad scientist, or a hammy, over the top sorcerer. I mean, I don't commit any real atrocities, because I still have standards and because those aren't really fun anyway, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to build a giant death laser and carve my face on the moon.

The first thing to remember is that evil isn't trying to be evil (unless it's completely stupid.)
In my jumper's case, she essentially categorizes everyone into different groups: Those she cares about, those who are somehow important, those who are immediately present, and everyone else.

Thus her plans only account for the positive or negative impact on individuals - "Everyone else" is just a vague concept and completely irrelevant except as it affects individuals close to her. So... If her goals involve something that you're blocking the path to and you're not relevant at all...

>Then, he accessed the hotkeys on his console, selecting the number 8 out of the numbers 1 to 10. This 8 represented 8th tier spells. A complex menu composed of layers of ring-shaped pages appeared before him. There were 12 spells in each of the four rings, for a total of 48 spells. In this way, he could hotkey up to 480 spells.
However, there were more than a few players who looked at the extra empty spaces on the shortcut menu and took it as a challenge from the developers.
...
>The ability to skillfully navigate these menus — fully understanding and memorizing the effects and proper application of each spell — was one of the biggest factors in one’s ability as a magic caster.
...
>Momonga fluidly navigated the menus. Although he would not browse his spells so leisurely in combat, he had the luxury of taking his time for now. As he went through the pages of spells by rote, he recalled the order in which the spells were arranged, an order which he had forced himself to memorize.
>He tapped the fourth ring, the outermost one. Out of the ring of 12 spells that became larger than the others, he tapped on one of them. “’Remote Viewing’.” There was no need to tap any other hotkeys, given that he was not planning to apply any metamagic enhancements to the spell.
As the spell was cast, an arcane eye — a magic sensor — appeared. There were other members of the guild who had already released similar sensory organs, so there was no need for Momonga to do that. Still, Momonga was the best undead detector in the guild, so just in case, he deftly manipulated the arcane sensor and sent it toward the small island.
>His right hand held the control stick for the sensor’s movements, while he used his left hand to direct the sensor’s field of view. Missing a huge chunk of one’s visual field was frightening, to say the least, but it was fine now, because he had trustworthy allies nearby.

It wasn't really VR. It was nanomachines. You used your brain.

>"I told you that I wasn't done with you, you fucking prick."
"I... oh for the love of god, now there's two of you."
>"Yeah. Saw you pop up, found where you were coming from... lo and behold. Now what kind of man would I be if I didn't help myself out?"
"I'll cede that point. So you've got me contained in a binding circle, in a magic-charged domicile, and I feel a bit of a draft, so could we please skip the dick-waving contest and cut to the chase?"
>"Fine. You're going to answer our questions, and you're going to like it."
"Oh, I think I very much WILL like it. You might not. Ask away."
>"And just to make sure, you're not going to be able to lie until I dispel that circle."
"Your resistance only makes my penis harder."
>"..." "Sod off. Now then. What world are you from? What reality?"
"Earth. There's a Constantine there too, or so I hear. Among other things. Magic there's much more low-key, but I'm told it's a thing."
>"And you're moving between worlds, obviously- but why? What's the bloody point of this?"
"Honestly? It's always been the novelty of seeing other worlds, and everything else was just the icing on top. Never thought I'd get to do something like that unless it was postmortem. Though at the moment is seems to be, why am I so goddamn old?"
>"Yeah, the circle's preventing all lies. Including your appearance."
"Oh, well, that's depressing but I don't think it's working right. And now I'm the baldest motherfucker since Lex Luthor. At least I have a fabulous beard, do either of you have an ectoplasmic razor?"
>"Do shut up with the jokes."

"Now that's a loaded question. Directly or indirectly?"

>"Sweet Jesus." "I knew you were a monster."
"Yeah, because it's my fault that planets were bombed from orbit with xenos and asshole people trying to exterminate me and not caring for collateral damage."
>"Uh-"
"You maybe want to ask me how many I've SAVED? How about tens of trillions at minimum? How about entire fucking galaxies of people spared the horrors of constant and unrelenting war?"
>"How about you coming into a world and everything getting bollixed up because of your greed?"
"How about your planet was fucked before I got there and I did everything in my power to fix it, and it's one among hundreds of thousands that I've visited in my time?"
>"It's your fault-"
"God DAMN it Constantine, shut up! The only thing that was my fault was the fact that you could pin it on me and not someone else! You know what's my fault? Not Trigon deciding to make the world's biggest Manwich, because he made his choice! Not you running away instead of trying to save people because you'd have been slaughtered alongside them! And I would have done the same if I had no other option."
>"You have no right-"
"I have as much right as anyone else! Your world would have been utterly lost if I hadn't shown up. Now ask me something that matters instead of this goddamn broken record."
>"Fine, you sodding bastard. Who are you?"
"I am who you see here, obviously, except I'm not actually this fucking ancient."
>"You know that's not what I meant. Your name."
"Crux, Michael Cross, Christopher Robin, Marius Octavianus, Cristobol Colum-"
>"YOUR TRUE NAME, YOU MONSTER!"
>>
>>54725821
I smiled, thinly. "I am not going to tell you my true name, but hey, you get points for trying. Still, I was born a man, as you can see." I swept a hand over my form. "And despite being very much NOT, at times... I am still a man in mind, at heart. Now if you'll excuse me..."
>"You're not going anywhere."
"Oh, but I think I am."
>"But... you can't-"
I stepped out of the binding circle, still translucent, and inclined my head. "Go home, John. I swear to you I did everything I could do to make your world a better place, within reason. I know why you're upset, but after what happened... some people chose not to come back to life and preferred the afterlife. Frankly, it's a miracle so many people did. Actually, you know what? Here, hold on a second."
>"How the bloody hell did he leave the circle?"
I reached into thin air and pulled out a black stone. A moment's concentration saw it duplicate itself in my palm, and the original was sent back to the warehouse, where it belonged. I tossed it to the Constantine that did not belong, the older, ragged-looking one.
>"And this is?"
"The resurrection stone, a badly mis-named artifact because it can't be used to resurrect anyone, but it's from a world that didn't have the same sort of magic you do around here. Turn it over in your hand and think of who you want to chat with. It won't call who you want to talk to while you're here, but it will once you go home. Your daughter, her mother."
>"This... what's the price? Everything has its price."
>>
>>54725829
I caught a flicker out of the corner of my eye, a slim, pale figure looking at me with her head cocked. "I give it to you freely and without reservation, Constantine," I told him. "Just try not to mis-use it. In fact, try not to use it more than once or twice, yeah? And if a girl comes up to you out of nowhere, asking why you're playing around with such things... it belongs to her, so be very polite."
>"R-right..."
I glanced over at the Endless that only I could see, her lips quirked in a slight frown, before she shrugged her shoulders. Looking back to Constantine, I said, "Seriously, do NOT mis-use that. It's not useful for anything but talking to the shades of the departed, and won't bind them in any way." I saw her nod to me at the edge of my vision, and then inclined my head to the Constantines again. "As I was saying... I've got things to see, but I know how this is going to go. Just call me if you can't pull your fat out of the fire and I'll handle things, yeah? Or if you want to sell your soul for the fifth time."
>"What." "What."
"I accept gently used souls! I like to clean them up and put them back where they belong, though, it's a hobby more than anything..."
>"You're weird." Three voices at once, but only one of the three was amused.
"I'm glad you think so," I answered, but the only one I was addressing was invisible to the Constantines. "Have a good night, folks, I'm going to go get some sleep. Ghost or not, I'm tired."

Silent magic is a thing, but it's limited. Ainz uses a silent time stop spell in vol 9 and a lich uses silent mana arrows in vol 4. But they clearly say that mages are in a disadvantage in close quarters, because they need to do the movements and say the name of the spell. Also said in vol 4.

Behold, edge the edgelord, who claims to have no motivation and yet still finds their way to a keyboard to post updates on their apathy.

>Accept it? Fuck that.
I don't think anyone is saying that Death should be accepted quite like how you seem to be reacting to.
I mean, a mature personal can *intellectually* understand and accept that everything ends, but, emotionally and viscerally speaking, even they don't want to die and would fight to live like a cornered animal in the face of a real threat to their lives.
Although room has to be made for people who volunatarily die, not because they wish for death, but for a higher purpose or sacrifice, for example to save a loved one.

so is urban an appropriate choice for Biome and if so , could It slowly make living things into partially Inorganic things? I.E Hang out in a forest and the ground gradually paves itself as the stones arrange into cobblestones, beavers start growing sharp metal teeth that kind of thing?

Even without pain, fish still wage their war of survival.
Meanwhile, your front yard is an ongoing war for resources and territory.
>>
>>54726549
Typing is easy. Complaining is easy. Even being contrarian is easy. Why would anyone need a desire to live to do something as easy as that?
>>
>>54726564
Perhaps, but fish are also retarded. Would be like if I empathized with machines or AIs. Trees/plants are only one of those things so I can relate to them more than not at all.
>>
>>54726558
>fighting to live like a cornered animal
>not buckling and freezing in fear like a frog in front of a snake

You overestimate them.

Goldfish can learn to seek petting.
>>
>>54726558
The original retard was insisting that death wasn't bad and everyone accepted it. This is blatantly untrue.
>>
>>54726594
I originally said most for both of those things. I meant that there too. There are exceptions to most things. Plants are more readily relatable. I will see most fish never. I can look outside and see a tree.

Death of the Endless is nice, a quirky and genuinely compassionate being; while actual death, the event and the process, sucks big hairy donkey balls.

She's a monster in trying to whitewash the concept she represents instead of accurately portraying it.

Okay, lets say what happens when you get what you seem to want:

Imagine you are in DC and just got ran over by a bus.
You see a scary terrifying thing that reaches forth and grabs you spectral self from your ruined cadaver and throws you through the void, leaving you devoid of any dignity or feeling except sheer animal panic until you arrive at whatever afterlife. If you are lucky (and christian) you end up in Heaven, in front of the pearly gates with St Peter looking on, covered in your own filth from fear, panic and disorientation, and that is the best possibility.

Is that an improvement to you?
Whitewashing or not, I'd rather had a nice chat with a kind girl before walking with some dignity to the hereafter.

Random question:
Do we currently have any way of granting Nasuverse magic circuits to people outside of those jumps?
>>
>>54726704
Yes, because most people don't get into heaven anyway. They deserve a little shock before they get to be smug for eternity (or until someone blows up heaven) while everyone else burns in hell or stops existing.

Go to any place that has demons or other monsters are starting races pretty early in the chain, or as your first jump.

Seven Deadly Sins, Overlord or Hellsing are excellent starter/early jumps, and come with some form of human devouring to fuel your 'evil' side.

And that's it. You are pretty much 'evil' in most jumps. That doesn't means that you cannot still have a family or that you can't find some lowly mortals entertaining, though.

>>54725359
Never really had any moral constraints on my behaviour. If others happen to oppose my will, then we'll work against each others designs. I always win
>>

You have issues, anon.

>I always win
So, the inverse of real life for you. Good to see you really pushing boundaries with your imagination.

If you die to become a lich in a jump, do you still lose the jump? Or is it considered part of your transition to lichdom?
>>
>>54726931
>Says the man on /tg/.
>>
>>54726953
Lose.
>>
>>54726953
You die, no bones about it. But you can get around it in two ways. Buy lichdom with CP, in forgotten realms for example. Or go through the process manually with a 1-up saving you from chain loss.
>>
>>54726751
You are so bancho about death, anon. Why don't you just rewrite reality to get rid of it. Maybe get a shapeshifting Wheezing waifu while you're at it.
>>
>>54726978
My approach to death is more nuanced. I don't intend to stop death as a concept since non-sapient beings do need to die, but sapients get easy access to an afterlife or a reincarnation if they want that instead, and they're eventually going to find biological immortality on their own.
>>
>>54726996
My understanding of death is complex as there are many different deaths in theory.

If you die and go to Heaven or any other afterlife, did you truly die? I ask that because you still exist, albeit in a different state of being and/or plane of existence.

If you get reincarnated, are you still considered dead? No, because you just 'exchanged' one end of life for another's beginning.

To me, death should be a choice. It shouldn't have to be forced on you from something as petty and insignificant as your body just randomly shutting down because you got old. That's just insulting.

Sometimes I take the approach to Death like Lala in Monster Musume when she 'saved the terminally ill girl by zombifying her.
It went something like: "All things have an end. However nothing says her end has to come so soon. When she has her fill of life, then she can have her death."
>>
>>54727164
That depends. Reincarnation that erases your memories and personality is death.
>>
>>54724788
Does Unstarveable mean that you have infinite stamina? It says that you don't need to rest anymore.
>>
>>54727179
I concede that this type of reincarnation will lead to identity death, like in the Nasuverse to my understanding.
However in some case where you /are/ a soul and /have/ a body and your soul is effectively immortal, it may not always be the case.

Is there any perk like Stranger from Creepypasta that also works on exotic senses?
>>
>>54727271
The Membership perk plus Weirdness Filter, same jump:

+Weirdness Filter- Your weirdness filter becomes stronger, deadening the
supernatural senses of nearby hostile beings to help you avoid detection.
>>
>>54727313
Can't afford that though, I'm already strapped for CP with all the Cryptid stuff.

For Wukong, if he sees this later. Will Commorragh be getting an update in the future?

I know that feel, just changed a bunch of stuff myself.
Maybe just Empty Night from Dresden Files - if supernatural = magic.
Or Private from Death Note, and just set it to "I don't want them to glean anything at all about me", which presumably includes your position or presence?
>Shinigami when looking at a person can see both their name and lifespan. This is not the case for you. Supernatural abilities that allow people to gleam information about others seem to be unable to give their user anything that you don’t want them to know about about you.
